Everything about this place is a vibe. Cool decor, clean spaces, and items are all well organized. There is a huge variety of foods--veggies, tofu, meatballs, milk teas, crepe cake....and a huuuuuuge sauce bar! Also, all the meats we had were really great--they were all flavorful, tender, and beautifully marbled. Broths (we had spicy miso and mala) were also very flavorful, more so than most shabu/hot pot places I've had in Georgia. The thing that drives it all home though is the service. You have excellent servers who are considerate and know when to step away and give you some time, or when to come in and ask if you needed anything else. Our server was friendly, empathetic, and an absolute star. Also, the runners and bussers come in quickly and silently when attending to your table, yet are friendly when responding, well versed on the menu offerings, and quick to take action with anything you needed. I have literally never seen such top tier service at any Asian establishment, let alone restaurants in general. One of my favorite Chubby Club concept restaurants. It takes shabu shabu to a whole new level - the A5 meat quality here is unmatched, with excellent cuts of rib eye, shoulder, and brisket. We did opt for the diamond menu which included unlimited A5 cuts and specialty dishes. This location in particular has unique broths that rival Hai Di Lao! I've visited probably 5 times now and I will say this still stands above other hot pot/shabu places. The standard is set here. The quality here can't be stressed enough. The ambiance, drink offerings, veggie and sauce bar is always stocked well and super clean. Staff is excellent. They are patient with the ordering process and the wait is usually no more than 15 min. All the workers are very helpful and communicate very well. Seems like they have their system all figured out! And it works. Menu is pretty spelled out. The service is super attentive (they constantly circle around to pick up trays), the food is amazing, and the unlimited milk tea is so cool. Given that it's unlimited milk tea, I had low expectations, but it's actually pretty decent AND it's served warm! All the meats, even at the base tier, are fantastic. Self serve sauce + veggie bar. I've been to other AYCE shabu places where they also offer wagyu meat but what's better about Chubby Cattle is that the slices of meat are decently thick. Other places will give you paper thin meat that tears as you try and put it in the pot. Not here! The care and attention he provided us for us, was next level, anything we needed was provided. The beef just kept rolling and his rapport was on point as well. Now onto the food, the food was excellent, we got the diamond level, so there was no limit on anything. All the food kept rolling, the unlimited bone marrow was delicious, but was heavy after a while, The wagyu nigiri (both types) were a welcome palate cleanser as was the wagyu tartare. They had a "sauce bar" but with the excellent broth choices, the wagyu that we kept rolling into the broth as soon as they came, was delicious. I don't eat seafood, but from what I heard the seafood choices were all excellent. But just honestly keep the wagyu coming. You are allowed up to 10 choices per order, so we kept the wagyu coming and into the pot as soon as they came. This was an excellent meal - the only downside was the soda machine was not working. I've been to Chubby Cattle in other cities and it seems like each one they open is an improvement over the last. Decor is really nice with subdued lighting. Service is top notch and very attentive. You order via tablet but the servers can answer any questions you may have. We decided to go with the beef tallow mala and the miso broths and the Silver Wagu set. The beef tallow broth had a good mix of flavor and heat. The cuts were fresh and excellent. This new restaurant is a step above the ones I've seen elsewhere when traveling. This is truly an experience. I've been to many hot pot places, AYCE places, and Chubby Cattle combines all the best things about them into a high end experience that will surely not disappoint! PRO TIP is that you can join the waitlist ahead of time online. the parking lot is crowded as this is in a busy strip mall. I've been here a few times now and am unashamed to say I am a member, which gets you a discount each time and some other perks. You basically just have to go twice a year to make up your money. I've had both the Australian and the American Waygu option and there is a difference I can tell, and I think is worth the extra $!0 for Australian. The ribeye is so soft and the marbling is perfect! All meals come with unlimited drinks including bottled drinks and milk tea! There are tons of sides you can order on the menu or just grab at their buffet that are also unlimited. The sauce bar is amazing and everything is always so clean and sterile. You can only order every 7 minutes through your iPad at each table, but can order as much as you want each time. Dined here after the new menu update and I gotta say--you're getting even more bang for your buck now. With the Gold Set, all the speciality dishes are unlimited now! Plus, king crab was added. Chloe was our server and she was phenomenal. One of the unavoidable things about hotpot that we don't like is the fat that accumulates in the broth. To our surprise, Chloe came over in the middle of our meal and started scooping out the fat and meat residues off the top layer of our broth. I've dined several times now and this is the first time receiving this kind of service. Chloe was very patient with our family who were first timers with a TON of questions lol. She went even more above and beyond when she stepped in to make the Samurai Milk Tea. At the beginning, I saw it was out and she said they were making it. We really enjoyed Chubby Cattle Shabu. My only complaint is our table was too small. It couldn't fit all of our food and drink comfortably. For a restaurant that's higher end and seems to be generally well thought-out, they failed in this regard. Other than that, I liked this place. Chubby Cattle opened in April 2024 in GW Marketplace (Great Wall, Sweet Hut) on Pleasant Hill Rd in Duluth. It's part of "Chubby Group," a national chain of upscale-ish Asian restaurants that focus on "experiential" dining -- for example, hot pot and yakiniku (Japanese barbecue) in chic, trendy-looking spaces. In Georgia, Chubby Group also recently opened Wagyu House in West Midtown Atlanta (October 2024) and another Chubby restaurant is planned for Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. Chubby Cattle's specialty is wagyu beef shabu-shabu (Japanese hot pot). The menu can be overwhelming for first-timers because of all the dishes and fine print. Simply put, everyone at your table must choose the same unlimited all-you-can-eat (AYCE) option. This place is AYCE only. During our visit, the four options were: 1. Basic Wagyu Set for $45 per person 2. Silver Wagyu Set for $55 per person 3. Gold Wagyu Set for $78 per person 4. Diamond Wagyu Set for $98 per person The more expensive the set, the more dishes and premium meats. There are limitations and exceptions to the AYCE. For example, in the Gold Set, only one each of the Japanese A5 Wagyu Chuck Ribeye and Shoulder Cut is allowed per person. If you get the Diamond Set, then those two are unlimited. There's also a 90-minute time limit. However, a time limit wasn't enforced on us. We arrived around 7:45pm on a Thursday night, were seated almost immediately, and stayed for over two hours. The restaurant was busy, but not full. The dining room was mostly empty by the time we left. Also, we weren't eating *that* much food. Our group of four went with the Gold Set, which comes with the following meats: Japanese A5 Wagyu * Chuck Ribeye (limit 1 per person) * Shoulder Cut (limit 1 per person) * Brisket Australian Full Blood M9+ * Chuck Ribeye * Shoulder Cut The Gold Set also comes with "Premium" Australian Wagyu: chuck ribeye, shoulder cut, and brisket; American Wagyu: chuck Ribeye, shoulder cut, and brisket; Jidori free-range organic chicken; and Kurobuta pork. These meats are also included in the Silver Set and all, but the Premium Australian Wagyu, are included in the Basic Set. Since we got the Gold Set, we loaded up on the Japanese A5 and Australian Full Blood M9+. "M9+" is the Australian equivalent of Japanese A5. M9 is the highest rating (most marbling) in the AUS-MEAT grading system. The meats were high quality, super fatty, and delicious. One of the A5 wagyu ribeye plates that was served to our table contained beef that was so fatty, my friend sent it back and asked for slices with less fat. That's how much marbling there was. The slices were cut very thin, so they cooked fast. Chubby Cattle offers four kinds of broth: Sukiyaki with pasteurized eggs (raw, for dipping - this was terrific), House Broth with ponzu, Spicy Miso, and Japanese Tomato. We ordered half-and-half House and Sukiyaki. Both were good, but between those two, we preferred the Sukiyaki. It was more flavorful. Also included with our Gold Set was one "Specialty Dish" per person and a Seafood Platter. The quality of these items was fine. There were four Specialty Dishes and we tried them all: * Sweet Shrimp Sashimi (2 pcs) * Wagyu Nigiri (2 pcs) * Waygu Tartare * Wagyu Bone Marrow The Nigiri, Tartare, and Bone Marrow were equally enjoyable. If you have to choose, it really comes down to what you're in the mood for. Personally, I'd go for the Bone Marrow and Nigiri. The latter is topped with fresh wasabi. I couldn't try the Shrimp due to my allergy. Our Seafood Platter contained fresh abalone, crab legs, fish, scallops, and shrimp; all cooked in the hot pot. I'm pretty sure the fish was tilapia and the shrimp looked like Asian black tiger shrimp. The platter was supposed to come with oysters too, but they were out, so we got to double up on one of the other seafood items (our choice). We chose abalone. That turned out to be the right choice because it was my favorite of the seafood items. The abalone was nice and meaty with appetizing texture. Vegetables included with the meal, which weren't listed on the menu, were shungiku (chrysanthemum leaves), different varieties of shimeji mushrooms, tofu pouches with shrimp, Yubari King melon, tofu skin, shirataki konjac yam noodles, corn on the cob, tomato wedges, and carrot. Dessert wasn't listed on the menu either, but it was included. We chose small 3.6 fl oz servings of Haagen-Dazs vanilla and strawberry ice cream. Along with all of the above, there's a sauce and condiment bar, self-serve drinks from machines (milk tea, coffee, soda) and fridges (Asian beverage products), a menu with unlimited cooked foods (e.g., katsu, udon, curry rice), and alcohol (extra). read more

This is my second time coming back to the location as I heard they made some updates to their menu. I did really enjoy the updates they made as they added a lot of new options, They got 3-4 new broths: golden chicken, mala beef, and Tom yum. I can't remember if there was a fourth or not haha. They also added king crab to the gold tier and added some signature dishes, but everything was still the same price which I was pleasantly surprised by. We came at a much busier time this time around, but I made a RSVP on yelp so had little wait. Even though it was packed, it never felt loud. I could still hear my fiance and it was a very intimate setting still. We did the silver tier this time and got the bone marrow and lamb chop as our signature dishes. Personally, the lamp chop wasn't for me, but it was still good and I liked having it as an option. We got the sukiyaki and tom yum broth, and both were delicious. I wanted to love this but my experience was meh. A BBQ version would probably be better, and I think one is coming to ITP. The issue I have with this is the the beef is too fatty and the fat all comes out and just sits in the broth. It doesn't matter what broth flavor or veggies you get since it will just taste like fat after the first plate of meat. At least with BBQ, the fat renders out and doesn't agree the flavor of everything else. Also, it's hard to eat a lot of wagyu since it is so fatty. It is very filling. So AYCE is just not worth it. OMG, I had Chubby Cattle for the first time a month ago and I can't stop thinking about it! Chubby Cattle is so unlike your typical AYCE hot pot experience, they have a focus on quality wagyu beef. Do not bring any vegetarian friends here, lol. My friends and I got the Silver Wagyu Set which includes AYCE and one specialty dish per person. I got the Wagyu Bone Marrow and tried some of the Wagyu Tartare, they were both great items that I would have gotten at a normal restaurant. The set also came with a Seafood Platter, which we mostly ignored other than the abalone. The REAL deal is the AYCE meat. My faves were the Australian Wagyu Brisket and the Wagyu Ribeye. I loved the combo of the Sukiyaki broth and the Egg dip! I think we also got the House Broth but the Sukiyaki was ultimately our favorite broth. The Silver Set is $55 per person but super worth it. Place was super spacious and modern, noise level wasn't too noisy. I definitely recommended making reservations beforehand. Came to celebrate my friend's birthday, we came as a group of 7 and we had a semi-private room which was amazing! For 90 minutes AYCE, the service was exceptional - unlimited milk tea, fountain soda, bottled drinks, and can't forget the ice cream! Food is very good, we had Michael as a server, he was very attentive . Would highly recommend this place.

Really enjoyed this restaurant for my birthday dinner. Protein selections were abundant and food arrived quickly once ordered. The self serve beverage stations were really nice to have as well. I tried the gold tier and it was plenty of options for me. Loved the seasoned salt and house sauce available at the table for dipping. My only complaint is that when the bill came, I told my server (Tony) that I am a member (which it says on the app) but he told me I'm not eligible for the member pricing until I pay the yearly fee. On the website, it clearly says as soon as you create an account you're a member. He rushed and swiped the card before even hearing my complete sentence then told me they need to change the website wording. read more

OVERALL 5/5 (personal taste 4/5) you can expect top of the notch quality and service here at chubby cattle! While the prices are on the higher side, the quality for AYCE is so worth it. I would recommend the silver Wagyu set for around $45 a person, but if you're really ballin, try the diamond and get AYCE KING CRAB!! (I had 8 orders of crab). The only reason I give this place a 4/5 for personal taste is because too much Wagyu makes my stomach hurt, so ibs girlies be wary..... also I LOVE that they offer chi seltzers, best of the best sparkling water!!
