I had to have Cuban food when in Florida, and there's a plethora of Cuban restaurants to choose from. And although I'm not into sandwiches, I had to try it. This is a small eatery, and I ordered takeout. The service was fast. And wow, to my surprise, the Cubano was delicious, and the bistec de cerdo "pork steak" was incredible with lots of onions. I'm hooked! The portions are huge and priced reasonably. I'm going to miss this place when I'm back in CT. read more

This place is fairly new and I love that it's only 6 minutes away from my parents. I LOVE me a Cuban sandwich when I'm in town. You can't really get a good Cuban sandwich up north. For $6-$7, you get such a big portion. It's all about their bread. It's soft, buttery, and then pressed to a panini so it gives it this crispy texture. First time here, I highly recommend it. The food was excellent and was the real deal. We had the Vieja Ropas and it was great. The portion size are huge at a cheap price for so much. They have specials every day of the week. Well, we had the a bad experience with their churrasco congris and tostones, the churrasco was tough like a shoe sole. The congris & tostones were not bad, but that's not that easy to screw up. We went a second time to give them a another chance and the churrasco was leather again, we're not going back there again. If that was one dish, ‍ we don't know about the others, but we'll never find out. Also, this place closes at 5pm. So forget going there for dinner after work. They close at 4pm on Saturdays, & closed on Sundays. I don't know how they're still in business. Their hours suck and the food....,we'll, we're Cuban, and we had friends order other dishes and they were not impressed, we know Cuban food. read more

Food was bland, nothing I thought Cuban food would taste like. Service was a struggle, the girls all tried but nobody speaks English, and there is no description on the menus of what the food is made from, so unless you can speak Spanish, you get no questions answered. Table of (6) and we overwhelmed them, had to ask three times from two different servers for another Corona, French fries were brought out before my sandwich, so they were cold by the time my sandwich arrived. We expected before we went, the ambiance of a Cuban Family style restaurant, was cold, was like sitting in a "Fast Food" joint. I came in today by myself for a Spanish omelette. I wanted to dine in this time to observe the other dishes served that I may like to try in the future. I was ignored for 10 minutes as I chose the table right beside the register with only 2 other tables. It was 10:30 AM. I had to leave the table to motion down the waitress as they all saw me ask where to be seated and they motioned anywhere. Already, not impressed. I ordered the Spanish omelette, I don't know why they put peas in it, maybe it is a Cuban thing but, it does not say that there are peas in it on the menu. I ordered a side of rice n beans thankfully as the black beans were delicious. The service is TERRIBLE. I witnessed a table of 4 come in and it was the same scenario. I realize it is a Cuban restaurant and do respect the culture, however, the lack of English was disturbing. At least try to make me feel welcome and earn my business! I had 3 different waitresses by the time I left. I noticed the carry out orders were quicker. Next time I am in the mood I will order black beans for carry out as I will never dine in again. I am writing a review as I was not even offered a water. The 4th waitress came and dropped off the check without even making eye contact with me.... what the....I changed my mind. Came in for a few empanadas as I was craving them something fierce. I got them to go with an order of tostones and sat at the counter drinking a glass of wine while I waited. My total came up to $30 at first and after some discussion in Spanish I figured out that the cashier thought I wanted a bottle of wine when I just wanted one glass. Easy mistake to make, but I point this out just to tell you to make sure you pay attention to your receipt! The empanadas were perfect, fresh, hot a little spice (I could've used more but I'm a spice hound). I'll definitely be back to try the ropa vieja and for a couple more empanadas. I don't visit this side of town often but it's around the corner from a (hopefully! ) repeat client. Definitely authentic and I would recommend trying. read more

We have visited Cubay since they opened their doors. I can say they are ok to get your urge for Cuban food, not the greatest, but they do have some good stuff in their menu. Took my husband for his birthday to breakfast, and I ordered a sweet plantain spanish omelet. I was really excited, but to my disappointment when I received the order, it was not what I expected. It was a paper thin omelet, and it looked like the mozzarella monster thru up on the omelet. I looked past that and wasn't going to judge, but as I cut the omelet, I did not see the shadow of the sweet plantains. This was such a horrible breakfast that I had to order some croquettes to actually eat something for breakfast. Will never visit this place and will make sure my family and friends stay away. read more

Wow! This place is really good! I went for breakfast/lunch and was impressed. It's another one of these holes in the wall. I had the eggs with bacon and fries - and the bread .... Yummmmm . We live nearby and finally stopped in to pick up a couple of sandwiches. I wish we had gone a lot sooner than this! I had the Cuban sandwich, my husband got the pork sandwich. Both were excellent and more than enough food for leftovers the next day. And the prices are really good. The only place they missed the mark was the the french fries. They were soggy like the oil wasn't hot enough when cooked. I was able to crisp them up in my air fryer and they were much better. A solid 4.5 stars. We will definitely be back! read more

Well, I figured I give this place another chance, I ordered the same thing I ordered as take out last year when they first opened, Churrasco with Congris & Tostones, this time I ate it at the restaurant. Still not to my satisfaction, the churrasco was tough & overcooked (again) & the chimichurri tasted like that cheap imitation you get from a jar. The grilled red snapper my wife ordered was actually pretty good though. I now know not to order the churrasco next time we go there.
