It's ridiculous how they ran out of playcards. I was also told that if I registered my card it would be ok if I forgot but the cashier said no. What's the point of registering then? And it's so disgusting how she gave me "recycled cards". The name of the previous owner is still written over the card with their phone number and it has yellow stains. I asked her to give me a new card but she's says there's no more. Its absolutely so unhygenic. I don't want to touch the card much less my child. You're far better off just bringing your kids to the park. 1hr update: asked them to give me a new card which they now have but they said they can't transfer points to another card that is not paid. Tonight would be the first time that my family and I have ever stepped foot into this location. We had been to one of their places in Southern Maryland, and it seemed to be different. We showed up at around 5pm and there were less than ten other groups of people either sitting down and eating, or having a ball with their kids in the game section. Our primary reason for coming here was to do both! I wasn't sure what everyone wanted, and we couldn't seem to make up our minds, so we went for a large supreme pizza, and a large order if wings. We also purchased some fountain drinks and bottled water for the little ones. The food was somewhat pricey compared with average restaurants and I get that what you are also paying for is the ambiance. My kids loved running around, and driving their parents crazy and clearly none if the games or entertained was designed for adults. I cannot believe that I am giving a Chuck E. Cheese five stars, but here I am, doin' it, with gusto! I had a mid-day Saturday birthday party at the Fairfax Chuck E. Cheese yesterday. We ordered the basic party package and supplemented with some more play points. The facility was clean. The play area was large (along the size of what I remember from being a kid, not as small as some that I've seen). We saw one same out of service - Angry Birds - but every other game was working. The party hostess was awesome. She was so on the ball that my ultra type-A self had time to relax a bit and take good pictures. The birthday party show was cute as were the photos with Chuck. I really do not approach junky pizza - but I decided I would try a slice since I was serving it. It was perfectly fine pizza. (Please know that's high praise for me for a chain place!) There were three parties scheduled in the main party time as ours and I didn't feel like we ran into each other AT ALL. There were also other party groups in the booth section. All of it was fine. It was kid chaos, but that is exactly what the place is about, right? There were two children in our party with developmental or sensory issues (2nd graders) and they were both happy with the party and their tickets/prizes. The kids had a great time. The only "know before you go" things I can add are that they have moved completely to cards and points, not tokens. So if you're booking a birthday party online 1) don't pay for play cards - that's what you're going to get (it was shown as a $1/kid option) and figure out how you're going to distribute extra points to kids if you want to "top off" a kid's card while you're there. You can do it at a kiosk - easy for one card, requires a little thought for 10 at a time. And 2) there's a little bottle neck at the "shop" it's a pretty small section with just 1-2 staff so it can take some patience to select prizes and check out. read more

Growing up in NOVA this has always been the spot I loved as a child. I take my kids here now and management here is terrible! Everyone is slow at the ticket booth, there is absolutely no help anywhere with the games that don't work, and no smiles on anybody's face. Just rude, rude, rude all the time. It was never like this 15 years ago when it was the happiest place in the area! I wish they would clean the place better, and have better staff working there. When you hit 12pm the place is too crowded. They should really limit the number of parties they host here too! We went for a kid's birthday party and from my perspective, this place gets negative 5 stars: the pizza looks worse than frozen, the noise level is unbearable and the salad bar looks poorly-preserved under a bluish light. But, hey, it is what it is. My kids love it - and hence the extra star. Sooner or later they'll realize what a germ-infested nightmare this place is and our Chuck E. Cheese days will be over. We visited Chuck E Cheese's in Fairfax on 2/12/16. My children and I had a wonderful time! There were maybe three other families when we got there and about ten families when we left, and no birthday parties. The place is old but I thought it was really clean. The drink station, bathrooms, tables, floor, and games were all clean. I didn't see any trash, food, or shoes anywhere. Of course this could be due to the time of our visit. Here's my only complaint: when our food was brought to us, I asked for ketchup and crushed red pepper. The woman said you have to ask for that when you order. I said "I didn't know that; could you get me some crushed red pepper and ketchup?" and she flatly said "no". It's hot (today it was hotter inside than outside which is saying something for August). They've added Cotton Candy booths so the smell inside is a magnificent aroma of cheese, feet, cheese that smells like feet, and sugar. They have some new games which balances nicely with the games missing parts on it. I have never had a bad experience here. I have been to this particular Chuck E. Cheese's many, many times. I avoid the crowds by going early before school kids get out. Yes, some games don't work and there is not always a sign but if you tell someone, they will refund you your token. I have to agree that the bathroom can be gross but I usually go before it gets crowded and have not had that experience too many times. The food is mediocre but come on, you don't go there for a superior culinary experience. I try not to eat there unless I'm starving. Not a bad place for kids to hang out during off-peak times. We had a birthday party there today and it was great. The speakers were SO LOUD but everything else was awesome- including the price. Great deal for their basic party package. All the games were working and a manager was walking around servicing them. The food was good! I wanted something super easy for a birthday party and not crazy expensive. This was perfect. I called this morning to ask if they could warm up a dairy-free pizza since my daughter has food allergies. They said the oven temp is set, so the pizza might burn. Even though I told them my daughter's allergies, they did not offer any other food options. So I brought food in. The manager Evelyn was at the door and rudely informed me that no outside food was allowed. She said I could order pizza with no cheese. I told her I called and was not told that. She then said "inside of left arm." So I was like, are you letting me bring the food in? She pointed at my daughter and said "only her." Very snobbish. As if she felt entitled. No need to be rude. Took my kids here last week. My younger daughter (2 years old) wanted to go up the tunnel with her older brother. So my husband suggested that I go up there with her so she can play with her brother and other kids. Once I got to the top with the help of my son looking after my daughter, as soon as I stepped in, the whole tunnel slapped me with an enormous smell of disgusting unsanitary urine. I was extremely frustrated that I told my son to leave the area immediately with no questions asked. The floors of that plastic tunnel and walls were filled with yellow stains everywhere!!!!!! Extremely dirty, on a Sunday night there was trash all over the floor and tables not being wiped down. Kids were climbing all over the games, and there wasn't one staff member in sight. Chuck E. was obviously played by a teenager who had better things to do, he ran back into the changing room ignoring the swarm of kids wanting to give him a high five or take pictures. We took pictures in the sketch booth thing and my 1 year old spotted a cup on the floor and tried to pick it up. So I came in on 9/26 let me start by saying that the cashier was nice and friendly. So we found a table which was nasty. It was sticky and dirty I asked someone if they could clean it no one ever came. I went to get my son and myself a drink the fountain were nasty the floor was sticky my feet were sticking to the floor. I do understand that it's a Saturday afternoon but come on they could at least have someone wipe the tables down and clean the floor of trash and spilt soda. My son and niece went into the tube and cameo and told me that it sticks really bad. For the amount of money that they make on the weekends with birthday parties and just people walking in they should really start taking better care of the cleaning of this place read more

They are understaffed but generally this is a good place for kids to spend an hour or two. Bring a coupon for tokens.

Don't waste your money or time! Half the machines are broke! Or don't spit out tickets! And you tell a employee and they tell you to please wait but nobody never comes to help!
