WARNING!!! This review is purely related to the feigned attempt at "security" Chuck E. Cheese calls "Kid Check." I take great issue with this system because it is no system at all, and my concern is that it may lead parents to a false sense of security. Now, I understand that parents are absolutely responsible for their own kids' safety, nobody will dispute that. My concern is this "fake" layer of security may be counter productive and cause parents to let their guard down. Admittedly, it made me feel a little more relaxed trying to chase my two kids down at one time. The website claims under their "promise to parents" that the system is in place so that "Every member of a party - adult and kid; family or group - who enters Chuck E. Cheese's gets a unique hand stamp that is verified upon their exit to assist in our objective that families who come together leave together." Sadly, this was not the case during our visit, and upon speaking to management, there are many ways to get around this system. My son walked out the door with his grandparents. These grandparents had arrived separately from us and never received a stamp of any kind, as they entered with no children. They in turn were permitted to leave together because my son said they were his grandparents. I was told by management that sometimes they also accept proof of a connection if the adults have a cell phone photo. I hope you are tracking my concern here. The last statistic I saw, something like 49% of kidnappings are by a relative. Who the child would agree to knowing. And who would have a high probability of having a picture of the victim on their phone. I can only say that Chuck E Cheese has been lucky thus far to have not been the setting of a kidnapping. I was very appreciative that the GM "reviewed the security video" to determine where the lapse was, but unfortunately it turns out it is the corporate policy on the process that is lacking. I was basically told they followed policy, thanks for coming. I hope Chuck E. Cheese will reexamine their Kid Check program, and either make it work or eliminate it. As it stands now, it can not even be considered a deterrent and may only serve to create a false sense of security. Please be aware!! read more

Went here over the weekend for my niece and nephews birthday party - honestly it's not that bad. Yes, it's a mad house in there with tons of kids everywhere, but it's Chuck E Cheese, that's what you expect walking in. It wasn't dirty and gross in the play area, I didn't use the bathroom so I can't comment on that, but there were some snotty gross kids there touching everything. That's not Chuck E Cheese's fault, but instead parents who don't have any consideration for other parents and their kids. Super annoying, parents!! Just rude. Anyway, the pizza isn't terrible and they sell beer! My only other issue with the place was that some of the games were either not working properly or not working at all. And because they don't put up signs saying that the game is "out of order", you scan your card and waste a token trying to play. I'm sure if you complained you'd get your token back, but with hundreds of kids running around and trying to keep an eye on your own, stopping to do so is such a hassle. So get it together Chuck E Cheese and fix your stuff! You're a fun place for kids but as much money as you charge for parties, games and food, none of your games should be broken. read more

This place went downhill since I was a kid coming here. The breadsticks are still good and so is the salad bar. THe pizza was decent back then now it tastes like cardboard and bland. Also hygiene in this place is lacking. The soda bar is always dirty. It gets much more overcrowded here than other chuck e cheeses i have been to. Also you always lose tokens in the machines here. CROWDED-Broken machines-Jungle Gym over capacity-Pizza was good, but soooo tiny-drinks overpriced. Just too much stimulation. Too Loud. Sticky. LONG line to get food. Long wait for food. Tripped over all the shoes laying around. Can't they get a storage bin system for the shoes? Some older machines that took 2 seconds and my money. Bad experience all around. Won't be back! read more

ok! Time to up the rating at this place! we came on a good day. It was a Tuesday... so I think that helped. The crowd was manageable, everything was clean, the salad bar stocked and FRESH--you know how red onions and peppers can look not-so-good once they have been sitting out for more than 20 minutes?? Nicer than any salad bar I have seen in a while. Lettuce not wilted or brown. and the pizza--so fresh. I was pleasantly surprised, especially after I read the negative reviews. Just went, and it as fine. The pizza was fresh (not the best pizza, not the worst, but fresh) and for $30 my family had a fine time. All the games worked, my four year old was thrilled at all the tickets she won. The bathrooms were clean enough. Oh, and we made it a point to clean our own tables. I think all the families clean their own tables. If there was stuff still on the table, the family hadn't left yet. None of the kids seemed out of control. We'll be back. :) read more

Me and my kids were having a great time, the biggest problem I had was our pizza took way to long to come out. Upon asking for a refund I was greeted by a lady manager who apologized for the inconvenience. When I asked for a refund she promised me she would make my pizza and it would be ready in 5mins. So me having faith enjoying the environment with my kids I agreed to wait 5mins. I asked to have the pizza to go. About 12 maybe 15 mins later I see the same manager doing other things so I attempt to ask a employee that just clocked in for her so I can get a update on the pizza. The young man Julio proceeded to tell me he was a manager when I asked for the young lady I was speaking with. He then told me she was busy and when I expressed why I needed to talk to her he smurked and giggled in my face. I felt as though it was very disrespectful and offending like he took me for a joke because I was alone with my two children. Afterwards I ended up speaking with another young woman who I had to get into a screaming match with just to get a refund. All in all after coming to the Chucky cheese in Langley park so many times birthday parties and all I'm just tottaly disgusted and will not return. read more

My younger cousin tried to go there with her friends, but they didn't know that two of them could not enter with a legal adult. So they went back to get our great uncle and they got through, however, our great uncle had to leave for errands and the cashier would not let him leave without them! They were only going to be there for 30 minutes before going to Sweet Berry, since another friend would give them a ride home afterwards. I for one am extremely unhappy with this, because they are rising high school graduates (they're old enough for Chuck E. Cheeses)! This is extremely ridiculous, because they are almost legal adults and are plenty responsible. Also, there was literally no one in there because they got out of school early. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty terrified by all of the low reviews. My wife, two sons and daughter, and three of my oldest son's friends went there for lunch on Saturday. The kids had a blast and we found it clean, affordable, the pizza was good, and thought it was overall a great value. The staff went over and above -- really. Too bad the people above me experience such an unusual experience at this location. I found that this location is by far better then the others in the Washington metropolitan area, this happens to be one of the cleanest. From having worked in the restaurant industry before....it's tough, give them a break...clean up your own mess!!! I don't let my kids run around tearing up the place and running into people...like most parents do....and I have witnessed this on several trips. Overall my family and I had a great experience. Frankly, CEC = hell to me but my kids love it! I've been to several locations in the NoVA area and go to the Fairfax location the most since it is the closest to my home. However, I avoid this place like the plague on the weekends and evenings when it is packed. In fact, the place is only bearable in the early morning, when it first opens. I agree with other reviewers' comments about the unsupervised, rude children but that is is in all locations, not just the Fairfax CEC. As for the staff, I've found them to be helpful when games jam or we've had a question about something. read more

Made a yelp account just to write this review. I tried to leave Chuck E. cheese's and the lady at the front grabbed me by my arm and asked me where I thought I was going. I told her i'm 18 years old and I am going outside. She said, "How am I supposed to believe that?" I am an 18 year old woman. Then she proceeded to ask me for my ID. I did not take my ID with me into Chuck E. cheese's because I didn't think I would need it. My cousin had to end up coming over and telling her I was "with" him and showed her the number on his hand. He has a full grown beard and looks well into his 30's. Then she finally let me go. That was embarrassing. I know that's her job but that's just unacceptable. I don't look 5 years old. Maybe 16-17 youngest. But she should have just taken my word for it --- if i had looked 12 it would be understandable. Definitely not coming back here. I didn't expect to be treated that way.
