This is a pretty small Chuck E Cheese. I remember loving it when I was little. Every kid needs to go to Chuck E Cheese but this branch barely has any games for the younger ones and is actually pretty small in size. I know there's a few sprinkled around. I remember the one in National City being a lot better. I always thought of this place to appeal to the younger aged kids while Boomers was for older kids. Except they now replaced all their games with ones that only ages 8+ would even remotely begin to play. And then Chuckie comes out. Who doesn't like Chuckie? They do a cute little dance routine and all the kids are laughing and following along. Until some employee decides to throw tickets in the air and all over the floor and now kids are hitting each other, shoving each other, and stomping on each other to grab a couple of tickets. Of course all the bigger kids just trample on the 3-4 yr olds that are in the group. It was horrible! Rather disappointing. read more

I remembered how bad the food service was after I saw a line of people with receipts wondering where there food was up front. Half the games weren't working correctly & the one memorable machine the one that prints a picture of you was out of ink... This is the cleanest chuck e cheese I've been to in so cal. its perfectly located for my son and his homies and i can use and stack coupons galore. i swear the games have come up in this place because i enjoy a lot of them. OMG, did i mention they serve beer too! lol! my son is older so i can let him run a muck and not worry too much about him getting snatched as they man the door pretty well. they also have that stamping system to keep track of who came in with who. i took one star off because as I'm sitting here on a holiday its jammed pack (like Disneyland yo) and they Don't seem to organized. i had to wait 30 minutes just to order food because they only had one register open, but had like 10 workers standing around. wth?? do you not want to make more money?? this is great value entertainment for my son and his friends and i can sit down at a table and catch up on my magazines and/or yelp reviews. lol! read more

Went recently. It was pretty busy, but everything went smoothly. They had 2 or 3 people up at the counter (which the other CEC we go to usually one has one person so it goes real slow to order food). Our pizza was fantastic! Some games had a little trouble, but the majority were working. One popular game took a long time to get to play, but better than the other CEC. AND, the soda tasted fantastic! Usually for some reason, San Diego has the worst tasting fountain drinks, sometimes tasting and smelling like toilet water. I wish we could make a law that restaurants had to carry bottled soda so we don't have to bring our own or hope for a good tasting soda. We have gone to this location most of the time because the one near us is getting really bad. This one has a good manager who seems to care. When it's slow, she will come over and talk to the customers. This one seems not as crowded. We have been here since my daughter was a child and she is grown up with a child of her own, so it's been a long time. The young man stamping hands is nice and the workers actually tried to help me when my phone order didn't go through. They did a follow up with me which is pretty rare. Just had a party of 24 children with 3 birthday stars yesterday, on of the busiest party days and time slots to choose from. I will tell you that we did not at any point feel rushed, stressed, and the kids all loved the experience! The party area was cool, and comfy and plenty of space for the kiddos and adults. I will say that the mega star package is the way to go for sure. Unlimited games, the gift bags and the cups are well worth it, and we only ordered 2 extra pizzas and 2 appetizer platters on top of the pizzas we get for the children and they were more than enough. Our party Host/planner Natasha was AMAZiNG! She is sweet, patient, and did not flinch with the craziness our party came with. I honestly could go on and on about her because she is that awesome. Her and Vicky the main party planner made this chaotic day the easiest, care free and most importantly fun filled day for our kiddos ever! We will for sure be back and I hope to request them both. I will add, if you are hesitant about booking at a busy day and time, I feel like it added to the fun, with the other four parties going on it felt like a huge party when it came time for the birthday song and show! Been taking my 20 months nephew here and he is obsessed and loves it. They have the full band at the stage and chuck e comes out to dance with the kids and throws tickets up for them. The staffs are friendly everytime my nephew participates and is too shy to pick up the tickets. This location is very spacious . The pizza there is surprisingly decent, expensive but good. They serve beer . Haven't tried the beer but saw that there were three choices. I did not give them the full five stars because thr restrooms were disgusting. The floors were wet, toilets had paper on it as well as urine. The paper products were not stocked and everything was wet. I only lowered it because it is difficult to take my 20 month old nephew to potty when everything is wet. read more

I wull start with a tough parking for starters. It is located in a very busy strip mall and the stalls are designed for compact cars just like most parking in the greater San Diego area. The place of course is packed with kids and families like it is supposed to. Wish i could write a review on them. Yhe place seemed like it was understaffed in my opinion. Good for when it is not crowded. Decided to have our daughters 2nd birthday here today 09/24/16 but it was a big mistake. We booked our reservation for 5:30-730 and arrived there well before 5pm. Asked the manager if we could order food to prepare for the guests that were to arrive around 5:30 but the manager said we could not and that she had to close the parties out that were booked before that time, so we waited and didn't pay attention to it because we knew she was busy. 5:30 came around and then 6:00. Finally we we're able to order our ENTIRE meal for the guests that arrived, and they arrived on time which was between 5-5:30. We ordered 4 large appetizers and 6 pizzas on top of the 3 pizzas for the kids. Our food did not come out til after well over an hour from our actual start time we signed up for, so imagine that (kids were hungry and adults). We had to rush our food and have our guests wait, while being hungry, for the food we wanted to order before they even got there. Even after that, our waitress did not even acknowledge us or even offer any complimentary food/drinks to accommodate the inconveniences for my party and guests which was a lot of guests. Honestly, it was $700 down the drain and I do not plan on having any future birthday parties here for my kids and will not recommend it to my relatives and their kids. Before you read this lengthy review, I am ranting at the sake of sparing you and your child a visit. Just don't do it. Not worth the risk If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, Chuckee cheese, where a kid could be a kid, is nothing short of a a germ fest factory with airborne diseases and recycled pizza is quite questionable. Take a look at previous yelp pictures submitted by other reviewers. At the very least, make sure your pie comes as a whole. Recently attended a birthday party here and it will certainly be my last visit to chuckee cheese. Why rob my child of years of excitement and fun when chuckee cheese is supposed to be full of fun and where childhood memories are made?? Because 15 people from the event ended up sick! 15 people all who attended the same location and ate the same food ended up with vommiting and diahhrea (apologies TMI). Extremely upsetting, I can go on and on with the level of frustration and anger but I'll save you the time. What is the most upsetting is the level of professionalism by Chuckee cheese Mira Mesa management and corporate. Pretty much, very little to none. No apologies, nothing to help remedy the situation, nor providing any assistance to the party host who paid a pretty penny to host her daughter's birthday party here. Shockingly disappointed by Chuckee's response and doing nothing. Seems like they get these complaints too often to even care. I will be calling the department of San Diego health services and will be reporting them. To management, if you're reading this and decide to care, please contact me directly. Very disappointed at this place. The games broke a lot. When I asked staff for help, they were either not available, or rude, VERY RUDE. The management needs to provide training to their staff and let them know how to provide service to customer. And they changed their machine to give out a lot fewer tickets. For example, a machine used to give out 80+ tickets when you got a jackpot. Now it is only giving out 6 tickets. ONLY 6! Serious Definitely NOT recommend this place to any family!!! read more

This place used to be fun... I used to come here often with my family and friends and we generally always had a good time. However, just a few weeks ago, two of my friends and I went and we had a TERRIBLE experience with the customer service!! At the beginning of our time here, we promptly ordered one large pineapple pizza and the transaction was smooth and went well. We got about 14 minutes of play time and started the time and played. After it ended, the pizza hadn't come to the table yet, which was reasonable because the worker had told us it would be about 20 minutes. About thirty minutes had passed and we were confused as to where our pizza was. So I went over back to the cashier area and I kindly asked if the pizza was done and I even showed the receipt with the time stamp. Will/Willie (his shirt said Will but his name on the receipt was Willie) responded in a professional manner and quickly brought out "the pizza we ordered." BUT, he brought out a PEPPERONI pizza and not a pineapple pizza. I asked him if THIS was our pizza and he confidently confirmed that it was. Once again I showed him the receipt with the order of pineapple pizza and he took the pizza away and told the cook to make one with pineapple. He then told me it would ONLY be another 15 minutes. He DID NOT apologize OR offer anything (not that it would've made a difference. Bad service is bad service). After 15 minutes the pizza did not arrive, so my friend and I went back to the cashier area and spoke to Will about the lack of time estimation and the lack of good, efficient service. My friend asked if there was a manager and he said, EXACTLY, "There is no higher up, I'm the highest there is right now." JUST AS A NOTE, he said this RIGHT IN FRONT of the store manager, Vikki who was standing right next to him helping another customer. My friend asked politely once more if there was a manager and he repeated the same thing. My friend then asked for the corporate number and Will was very hesitant to give it. He kept trying to solve the problem but had failed numerous times already and we had had enough with his responses; he didn't even apologize. After a few asks for corporate's number, Vikki butted in and asked what the problem was. We quickly explained and eventually got the number after about five minutes. The service here has rapidly deteriorated exponentially in the recent months. I would not recommend going here. It is insanely dirty and half of the games are either out of service or are "working" but the tickets do not come out of the machine. read more

Had a lot if fun at this location. Typically my toddler and I go to the one in Escondido because the location is closer. This place is bigger and has more games. The only downside is their buffet is a salad bar, which is healthier but something my child (2 1/2 yr old) will eat. Staff is super friendly, nice, and helpful. Will go back again. read more

So this place has pizza buffet but failed to tell us that it ends at 3pm and we got there at 2:30. When we got there, there was no pizza on the buffet warmer at all. I have to admit, when parents don't feel like throwing a party at home and not have to deal cleaning, Chuck E Cheese is a good alternative. I've been here for 3 bday party's in the past few months and Im actually quite pleased with this place. There were probably 30 people in our group so we had a long table along with all the booths to the side. We had plenty of space! Our server was on point. He kept checking in on us and always made sure we had enough drinks. The pizza here is probably comparable to a pizza hut or so. Nothing special, but it does the job. Now the wings here aren't bad at all! I was actually suprised. We ordered 3 orders of wings which I think is 120 wings. I probably killed a good quarter of that to myself............. I LOVE WINGS! Pro's: - The entry attendant stamps you and your kid together and are checked on the way out to make sure you're matched with your kid. - Kids are hella tired after Chuck E Cheese! - No clean up at home. - Staff there is very helpful and nice! Cons: - Can get congested at times with a number of parties happening. - Price of the pizza is pricey especially with the packages. I've had 3 birthday parties for my son at this location. I know, that's ridiculous, but he loves the place, and the parties are actually pretty cheap if you are using coupons. The pizza is awful. It's Chuck E. Cheese, not a pizzeria. Weekends mean huge crowds, and the place can get uncomfortably crowded and noisy. When this is the case, it takes a painfully long time to get through the line even to get in or out, let alone order food or get your pizza. Forget it if a game eats your token or doesn't give you tickets - there won't be any employees available to help you, or it will take 10 minutes to flag one down. The party area gets so crowded that it's hard for people to get in and out of their chairs. Plan your party for off-hours if possible to avoid this. I prefer the Escondido location to this one because it seems less busy and is definitely cleaner, but I chose this location for my child's parties because it is more convenient for his friends. All that said, the party coordinators are good at what they do from what I've experienced. They definitely make the birthday child feel special, even when there are 5 other birthday parties at the same time. I love how they help pack up your food at the end of the party and move the presents to another table, so you don't have to feel rushed to leave at the end of your time frame. Warning to parents, uncles, aunts, and grandparents don't go to Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday. Also the parking lot is way too small with the addition of Trader Joes and other places. So finally I put in my pizza order. I grab the last remaining table and hang on to it for dear life. We get our order and eat it. I leave for two seconds to go to the bathroom, my whole table has been cleared. I would have complained, but who have listened. It would have taken at least 10 minutes to wait in line. I am not sure if they have reserve signs or something for when you play the games. It will be a cold day in hell, before I go back. At least on a Saturday. I have been here on a Sunday and it was not bad at all. Maybe just bad timing. If I sound uptight, many parents leaving looked like they needed to hit the liquor cabinet when they got home asap. So for my review it was hard to decide on how many stars. I'd love to separate my review into two categories. #1: weekday lunch with my son and my husband, and #2: my son's birthday party on a Saturday at 12:30. #1: this trip was awesome and I rave about it to everyone. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. My husband and I paid for all you can eat pizza and salad buffet. They serve random pizzas from 11am-3pm for $6 a person. My son was free since he's only 2 years old. The pizza was delicious. Came out a little slow but it was nice to nibble for duration of our stay. It wasn't very crowded and the staff was friendly and helpful. Four stars for that visit. #2: The birthday party was a chaotic mess from the time we booked it. My husband received multiple (like six) redundant emails and phone calls about the specifics of the party. Total overkill and made us uneasy about whether everything was scheduled or not. We arrived at noon for our 12:30 reservation and were told that the party before us was still at the table. No biggie at all but the host was not available to talk food with us until 12:20 and our guests started arriving so we were unable to pay attention to them because the host needs us to discuss food with her. The kids played games, the pizzas arrived, my son's pizza had just cooled down enough for him to eat it and the host informed me that they needed to rush things along because there were so many birthdays there. She interrupts me to have me clear a spot for the cake. She broke a piece of the icing off of the cake because she was so rushed. She made me feel very uneasy like having to tend to our party was a nuisance to her. She was fairly new. She told me she'd only worked ten parties before my son's. I will never pay for a birthday party here again. I wish we would've just brought our cake, ordered some pizza and had an un-hosted party. My son didn't care for any of the extra stuff, especially because there were so many birthdays at once that their feeble attempt at making the birthday boys/ girls feel special is squandered and the birthday kid just becomes another part of the crowd. So sad. Then at the end, when you think the rush is over, we are abruptly approached by the manager urging us to sell back our unused tokens and goodie bags. Basically the entire time our guests were there the needy staff was occupying our attention. And then our son was exhausted and had a meltdown. Zero stars for this experience. read more

OK this place is a little kid's dream come true!! My 4 year old loves it!! I love the fact that each game is only 1 token. We went with her friend and they had a blast running around and collecting tickets. I used a coupon I found online for 100 FREE tickets! I wouldn't go for the food, but otherwise it's a good time. They're lucky I even gave them two stars. They're really short staffed, and the employees don't seem to care as much as they say they do. The greeter, Brenda, is lovely. But the rest of the staff is really unattentive. I took my sister here and one of the machines ran out of tickets. I asked for assistance and got lied to about help by one of the employees. Straight to my face, no doubt. There's no one out on the floor monitoring if guests need help. They deliver the food and run back to the counter, or the "employee only" room. Our food order took FOREVER to arrive. I only come for pizza, and even then, it's not as good as it used to be. My girls had their birthday party here this evening, and the service was so bad that I really feel embarrassed with my guests. We had a large party and ended up adding on more kids. The extra kids had to wait like a good 20 minutes to get their play cards. Our host didn't show up until like 5:35pm, and our party was at 5:30pm. At 5:30pm, the table wasn't finished setting up. At 5:45pm, the host started going over with me how the process supposed to work. This should have been done 5 or 10 minutes before the party, not when I had guests standing around. Every time we needed some thing, we had to go hunt the host down, and then it would take forever to get anything. Our package came with dipping dots, but the dipping dots were brought out when everyone already left. This should have been brought out when everyone was still there, right after the cake at least. So we were offered to bring the dipping dots home, instead of serving to our guests, who expected them. So we had to pay for something that we wanted to use but could not and now forced to bring them home. We ended up bringing home ice cream instead because they said the dipping dots will not last in the freezer. There is only one host and we only saw him for maybe 1/4 of the time at the most. It was very frustrating when you have a large party and no one to serve. This would have been a fun and exciting party, but I feel like we have been scammed. We paid a lot of money for such a large party, but got a below zero service. Never again. read more

THIS PLACE WAS THE WORST CHUCK E CHEESE EVER! as stated in another post there is no wack a mole, which is insane. they just got a lot of new games but there nothing special. there are a lot of little kids running around (watch your shins) anyone over the age of 10 should go to nickel city, they are just an arcade but there is plenty of food nearby. the place is cleaner and the staff is way more nice. plus the offer some pizza deals in the week. hands down nickel city is better than chuck e cheeses, it is a little further driive but well worth it! read more
