I've been here a few times, I was hoping to update my review with more stars not less but they need to really re-look at their management. Not all staff but it's more management. They actually staffed better since my last review but to be honest, the last three times I've been there, no one has asked to see our stamps for us to leave. Tonight was so horrible, We waited at the register to order and the manager (20-30s dark hair, blue shirt) was chatting near the the salad bar with someone, one of the staff told her I think they are waiting , and her response was "they can wait" she didnt know I could hear her, but I couldn't believe she said that. I was so caught off guard. The game tech walked by and I asked if he could help me. He seemed irritated I asked. But no one else was helping us at the register. (He also had a huge hickey on his neck) so unprofessional for a child place. It was so hard to not just walk out. Always a fun time for kiddos birthday parties. Niece celebrated her 5th bday here last month. Highlights of this location- Chuckie made his appearance eventually after the count down. Gave the kids a high five. The catch-all air booth was her first time and she successfully claimed 670 points. Fun jump area that's gated and not fully monitored. Clean play area, and friendly helpful staff. Minus half a star- Pizza took longer than anticipated but was hot and fresh. Game side was much warmer than the dining side. We are CEC fanatics & our preferred location is National City then College Ave. This location does NOT compare. There is not a huge variety of games. It's actually kinda empty as far as game options. More kiddie games than actual games. Which I don't mind since my son is still a toddler. Line to order wasn't long, food came out quick. Way faster than the other two locations (which typically takes 30-40mins+ for something simple). Staff were friendly & up to standards at this location. Whereas other locations are understaffed & overwhelmed. Food was good, no complaints. Same salad bar option as every location. We ordered bbq chicken pizza this time & the crust was flavorful. It's loud & a buncha kids running around like any other CEC location. Parking is good, shared private lot with other businesses. Probably not my most preferred location & won't be coming back to this one. Not at the fault of the staff or service but due to the game options/distance from my area. Purchased the $99 party package and when we arrived we were not given our party bag, our table was set but had no napkins, utensils or pitchers for drinks. I ordered a cake and that was not served on time for my child's birthday. All of the other children in surrounding parties received their cakes on time so my child sat there with no cake as everyone sung happy birthday. When I asked the staff for things like napkins, water or even the cake we paid for we were met with attitude, almost as if we were bothering the staff. For a birthday that we paid for, this was incredibly disappointing and even worse, my son was very let down when it was supposed to be a special occasion. Brought my kids here to attend a friend's Wednesday birthday party and was so impressed! Chuck E. Cheese has really had a glow up since I was a kid. It was very clean and well-lit inside and the staff was welcoming and friendly. There was hardly anyone there which was nice too. None of the games were defective and it was nice that they had an unlimited game option. My kids seriously had so much fun they are still talking about it the next day. Not adding photos only because I didn't get any clear photos without other kids in it. We use to come A LOT! Like at least once a week last summer. It was good much better than the sports arena location. We recently came back (3 times in the past 6 weeks) and it has recently had a major face lift. There are new games and they've added a little "trampoline park." The summer pass is worth it if you come at least a few times because of the discounts and tokens. We bought the gold which I think was around $170 upfront but saved us $75 each time on tokens and 50% off food which is quite a bit. Anyways the took out the old Chuck E. Cheese life size character band which I think freaked out kids more then anything and replaced it with tv screens and a show they show for parties. I think this is a good upgrade, New games are great, and now 99% of the games are actually working! The trampoline thing is a total scam though in my opinion. I believe it's $15 to entire and the kids barely get in but want to. We did it for our 2 kids the first time we were back and they jumped a total of maybe 5 min and that was that. I've told them no each time since. It's a tease to the kids and a waste of money if you pay it for the parents. Hoping at some point they just include it. Or somehow make it something you can scan a token for, grip socks are included though. Check your salad bar food, quality is not as good as before and veggies look pretty bad (consistently the 3 times we've come this summer.) They try to have someone check out families when they leave but I've noticed this has been subpar at best this summer. This last time this weekend when we went, we saw 3 families look around waiting for someone for a moment and then just left. I saw 2 little girls run the door alone and I said something and they ran back towards the game. We specifically sit where we can see the door so our kids can go play independently but we can always see the door so they can't just go, I think the idea of the safety of the CEC system is appealing but I think they are understaffed and they pull this person for literally any other need. I'd REALLLLLLY like to see them become more focused on the exit system for the safety aspect. Obviously always watch your kids or find one of the seats where you can see the door. Hosted my kid's first birthday party and had an amazing experience weather it's preparation, food, ambience. My host also did an amazing job and made birthday party memorable. Pizza were pizza quality was so good, guests enjoyed it a lot and the extra work they did in Peru hall created extra space and didn't feel too crowded even though multiple parties were celebrated. Only factor which can be improved is the improve the party slowness. Overall we had an amazing celebration. read more

On oct 4th, I hosted my son's birthday party here, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing!!!!! The staff cleared the entire birthday table (you can see in the picture) before we even had a chance to use it, even though it was untouched right at the time of our reservation without any wait. I even had confirmed with the staff that we needed the table for 30 more minutes, and there were no other parties scheduled after us. They neither asked nor waited, which was extremely embarrassing in front of our guests and completely ruined the party. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve their customer service. read more

Finally, none of the games were down. When we arrived, there was only one person holding the place down per usual. She was older with short grey hair and very pleasant. Unfortunately, as more employees came in, they were not as kind as her. In fact, one tall young brunette who helped us was quite disrespectful and intimidating. Other than her, our experience was enjoyable and we were very happy that we got to celebrate here again. This Chuck E Cheese has a trampoline area with a ridiculously low height limit. Neither my 11-year-old nor 8-year-old were permitted to jump. Whilst we were dining, a little kid literally broke into the trampoline enclosure which was closed and locked with a cheap plastic chain (that snapped. He broke in not just once BUT TWICE! Ultimately, his parents registered him appropriately and he was allowed to jump. Unfortunately, so was his older sister who was at least 2 inches above the height requirement. See my photos to see the girl jumping who should not have been allowed per their guidelines/the reason my kids were denied. . Not fair at all that she was allowed in, but my kids were denied access. When I asked, I had been told that employees had been fired for letting kids over the height requirement inside. Felt extremely bad to my two children (one of whom is autistic & developmentally considerably you her than his chronological age. Disappointing. Chuck E. did come out during our 2+ hour stay (but just once). He didn't make it our until after his dance song had already begun, and he couldn't wait to leave the floor immediately after. He could have at least roamed the arcade a little bit and met a few children. Employee attitude was such that they were just there to collect a paycheck (with the exception of the older female manager). They still utilize the kid check system here which I do appreciate. However, with regard to safety, they have cartons of some unknown substance just set out on the floor. What is to stop a child from picking one up and ingesting it?!?!? I am thinking all those bright colors might encourage especially a special needs child to pick those up. There were at least 3 autistic or otherwise special needs kids there during our visit alone. Also, the restroom cleaning checklist is being housed on top of the trash can where people are supposed to set their pizza pans when they are finished dining. I brought my girls to celebrate the older one's birthday and he little one's half birthday. I'd you join their mailing list you will get coupons! The first time we went was last summer and the customer service was better than we just went last week. In the summer, even though it was weekday but it was still a lot of people. All of the customers services were nice and everything fast. When I went last week, it was the weekday m but the customer takes very long. After we were done playing, my son wanted the dipping dots ice cream and I waited in the line for more than 30 minutes and there were still 3 people on front of me. They dealt with one of the party payment for more than 30 minutes and it makes the line on hold. Then when we exchanged for the toys for my kid, the girl who was in that line keep rushing us. The 80's were a wild time. My parents used to drop my over-stimulated and under-supervised self off at this very Chuck E. Cheese with a five dollar bill and a vague promise to return in a few hours. I turned that fiver into enough tokens and pizza to keep whatever existential childhood crisis I was having at the moment at bay. Gone are Pac-Man, Gallaga, the ball pit and the tokens. Out the door along with our innocence. You can't even dump unsupervised kids there anymore and are expected to be fully present for the ordeal. Enter a new Charles Entertainment Cheese: the child casino. Let me put the nostalgia aside for a moment and review this from the perspective of someone who wants his grandkids to have reasonably nice experience in roughly the same setting as his own childhood. The basics of ordering food should not be a confusing task. Upon arrival, there were three people milling behind the counter. The lobby was empty save for us. Zero of these three (and one appeared to be the manager) would look up and acknowledge the presence of other humans in their proximity. We eventually approached and we're given more silence ... are we doing it wrong? Finally the non-manager decided to see us and take our order. Only, she couldn't ring wine for some reason. The manager (who would not acknowledge us) had to do that. Fine. So two transactions once the manager decided that we * e x i s t e d * Then I made the mistake of needing a fork when the food arrived. I go on a fanciful journey around the casino and find none, so I return to the desk only to find the manager having a very stern and public conversation with a bewildered young employee about ... who knows? All the while, there are more people in line also not being helped by the manager or anyone else for that matter. Pro tip for managers: praise in public, criticize in private. Do not make a show of having a difficult conversation with an employee in front of your customers. This woman was old enough to know better and this kid was young enough to not know that was unwarranted. Never did get the fork. The food was classic Rat House fair. The pizza is not bad, the wings are substandard but edible and the fries are hot garbage that are obviously baked. Your kids will not care about any of this, but you will because it's really overpriced considering it should be a loss leader for the child casino. Did I mention that a can of red wine costs as much as a glass of good stuff at a fancy restaurant? You know they can pull this off because after an hour here, it's probably the only thing keeping some parents from gouging out the eyes of the animatronics. After we finish our "food" we took the child in our charge to enjoy the games. Yes, I miss the arcade of the past, but look, our young do not. The games here are casino games, specifically designed to reel in kids, and they do a great job of turning our money into virtual tickets that are exchanged for bad toys. And they love it. Yes, a few are broken. Sigh. The last thing I want to highlight is cleanliness. How do you invent a place that is specifically designed to hype up children and expect it to not be a sticky filth vessel filled with chaos? Turns out you don't. It's gross. Why on earth would you carpet it? A place with endless fountain drinks, paper plates and birthday parties. It's not compatible with soft surfaces and the carpet reflects that ... it looks someone took gray dryer lint and dragged it through an overturned outhouse, then glued it to the floor. The open tables were not wiped down and smeared with funk as well. Look, this place is a financial engine to hype kids for your money. With the expense of the food and games, there should enough left to pay people to take care of the place and keep it sanitary. Do the kids care? Maybe not but if you want people to keep bringing them in, you have to at least pretend you care about the comfort and health of the adults along for the ride. My nostalgia glasses are probably the only thing separating this three-star review from a one-star. It's a place from my own childhood that I can enjoy with my kids and their kids. But the downside is that I also remember when there was more care put into the entire enterprise. Wasn't perfect then, but it was never this bad. read more

There was a group in all black working hurdled up in a corner multiple occasions seeing how extremely busy she was and offered NO help to that poor girl. I give it to her! She was super sweet and had the most amazing attitude with lots of patience with everyone. We waited for an hour for 1 pizza. When I asked one of the guys working if they had crushed peppers. He said "I don't know you have to ask her" (the only girl working in front doing the work) remind you. The line for the last two hours for her in every position I pointed out at first was VERY long and always BUSY. The rest of the crew members where NO help or help to her. I initially liked this place because it kept my 2 year old engaged. A few months later, they added a trampoline and a play zone, which made it extremely crowded. On top of that, you have to pay extra to access those areas. It's impossible to explain that to a toddler, especially since those areas are open and easily accessible. I did purchase passes a few times, but they were a waste--my child would only stay there for a couple of minutes. We had a really bad experience here, staff is not well trained to handle birthday events or customers. they make you feel embarrassed in the event and disrespect customers. Orders are not tracked: Event organizer calls ahead and takes the order, but once we reach their they they won't have any data with respect to the customer, they don't have proper tracking of customers and order. We asked for a specific table. They said we have to come here and select. After going to front desk and selecting couple of days before on the day of birthday they disappointed us by giving different table. They initially said their staff will be with us from the beginning to end of the party. but they don't communicate with us when they are going to cut the cake. when chuck E.Cheese is going to come ahead. When you have high school kids working and management hiding in the office, service is trash. I was standing at the register while all of these kids were standing just talking (all I needed was a to go box). They looked at me, ignored me, and continued their conversation. There was even a "manager" standing at the host area in front, saw me waiting, and joined the others in their ever so important conversation. The general manager(short, chubby, old white male) made 2 appearances during my 2 hour visit. Crazy to think me and my cousins would come here growing up and now we're bringing our baby here. He loved it! I think it's so cute how they have games for toddlers his size. And lots of mini rides and games. 32 for one hour free play for Halloween week is a bit much, probably could do like 25 for one hour but that's okay! We still had a lot of fun. The Luigi's mansion game was kind of a rip off because the other gun was off the game and there was only one gun and my son couldn't even hold it like the other arcades we played it at, let alone push the top button which is essential for playing the game. It was blocked by the clamp holding the vacuum gun Luigi uses. Also the picture on the car ride with Chuck E. Cheese didn't print anything. But the other photo machine did and we were really happy about that. Chuck E. Cheese came out to give each child some Halloween candies and do a dance party together, so we took our toddler to the dance floor and he was happy.
