All you can eat Caesar Salad add to any entree for $4
    Ella B.

Food here was quite decent for the price, for the most part... We had some Nachos and thank goodness we had a coupon for a Free Starter otherwise I would have been a lot more upset when what I feel confident calling the most poorly topped nachos I have ever seen in a restaurant came out. They were atrocious. I actually thought they forgot to put cheese on them but later we did find a evidence of splashes of 7-11 cheese sauce spatters on the outer edges of the tray. I ordered the 8oz Ribeye. When it came out I had to return it as although I ordered it medium rare it came out slightly more than well done. Luckily when they did bring the correctly prepared steak it was quite good. Like quite good. It came with a grilled mini cob of corn and a baked potato which was cold on the inside but not bad. I paid to have all I could eat Caesar Salad added to my meal and that thing was huge!!! It was very nice and garlicky would for sure get this again, well worth the $4. So I know that this place just opened and you need to expect to have some patience but our server was sub-par at best. We were seated before everyone in our section but she took everyone's orders first and I actually had to wave her down and tell her we wanted to order cause we had waited so long. That put us off a little. We decided we may come back when they have had a little more time to get the service up to par. For the price the food was way better than you would expect.

Most placed I'd been to had small selections of their own beer, but to me you have to really diversity to get to that 50 plateau and I was right. 50+ beers from all over (even back home). Steady changing selections of all craft, some local, but as varied as anyone can get around here. It's dark, small, warm, cozy, inviting, but ultimately weird. Hipster AF. I was glad to see some classic cocktails on the menu which I also tried, but there is a weird bottle neck at the chalkboard as it narrows to the bar opening which makes ordering just awkward if the bar itself isn't open. They do an interesting thing asking for your name instead of tabbing you via a card to hold, but that also doesn't seem to be a Canadian thing like it is back in the States. My pisco sour was excellent, fresh juice, fresh egg white, well shaken, though I'm more a fan of metal on metal and I'm starting to think kold-draft is a luxury as many places simply don't have it. Kold draft or even 2+ inch molded ice has a very unique clang that I like. Ultimately bad if your shaking with glass though. My friends had a few lagers and ales which Hamilton is more known for than IPA's. We sat at the back where it was quite and we could hear ourselves instead of shouting over people. They have board games which I imagine is great fun and even a back patio which I imagine goes off in the summer. The staff are friendly and pretty knowledgeable, but I'd have like to seem a little more eye in the sky control, in that regard it's more barista than bar. On any given night here you'll hear conversations of beard oil, compost, prius', and other hipster topics. It's quietly romantic and dark so no one will bother you whatever your opinions are. If a Portland hipster mated with a San Francisco hipster, The Brain would be their baby.

The Tap Room has long been a frequent stop of mine as it is one of the places where "everyone knows…read moremy name". I have not written a review for this eclectic, gem of a dive bar until now because I didn't want my review to be biased and based on the fact that I know the owners/operators and love them dearly. Things have changed for this watering hole recently, however, and it is worth writing about. The Tap Room has now incorporated food into their offerings to patrons beyond nuts, chips, and Tap Room Cheese & Crackers that are a staple at this joint. The grill is officially open and it is a must-try if you are in the area. The cook, Chad, is killing it. The burgers are phenomenal. Homemade patties with delicious seasonings done right. The options on the menu are packed with flavor and they have many to choose from. Be sure to try the TRB if you can handle the kick. My other half says it is one of the best burgers he has ever eaten, and he knows his burgers. The wings... they are served whole, as in not broken down into smaller pieces. By doing this, Chad preserves a lot of the natural juices and the end product is so tender you have to try them to understand. Order the "house" wings the first time you are there. They will blow you your mind. **UPDATE** The grill is no longer open at the Tap Room on a regular basis, but they still do food for special occasions (Bills games, Superbowl, etc.). If you are looking for a place to grab a quick libation on your travels, the full bar won't disappoint.

Service is hit or miss but our waitress last night was lovely. We dined in around 730 pm and were greeted and sat quickly. We got kids meals, the Thai chicken bites appetizer, Stuffed Beef Yorkie (my fave!) and Fish & Chips. All hot, fresh and flavourful which is hard to come by it seems. For a family of four with appetizer & meals it's around $100 which I find reasonable when the food is tasty! Nothing worse than spending $150 and the food and service were awful. Only reason I gave 4 stars is the interior could use a deep clean. The benches have a velvet fabric and are just super stained and feel dirty, menus not the cleanest. Honestly a good wipe down of the place would go a long way. Won't deter us from coming back though, quite the gem here in the Beamer!

Weather was nice so we sat out on the patio with 2 of 9 tables empty. Patio was a nice option. Seating is adjacent to the parking lot and near a busy road but hanging plants and market lights made it not so noticeable. We were greeted promptly and offered drinks. We were looking for iced tea but it wasn't on the menu. We were offered hot tea that we could put into a glass of ice and decided to go with a coke instead. Ordered beef dip with fries and grilled chicken wrap with a side salad. Both were tasty and ample sized. Salad was more than basic including cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and sweet peppers. Most of the patio emptied out and then service slowed as well. We ran out of drinks and then also had to go inside to request the check. Pleasant place and would recommend.

The gentleman at the entrance welcoming customers (unfortunately didn't catch his name) was very welcoming and friendly. She is super sweet and checks up to ensure everything is going well. I tried the pistachio Dijon salmon and the calamari. I loved the touch of sweetness in the salmon. I got it with pilaf rice and asparagus, which was a great pairing. The sauce that came with the calamari was the best and the calamari was delicious.

We walked in approx. 6pm on a Friday and the restaurant was basically empty, there was no one at the tables and 2 people sitting on the bar. We were talking to each other wondering why it was so empty on a Friday evening, it was a little concerning. We were seated at our table right away, as we were walking through the dining room I noticed how badly worn most of the seats were. Our server came over right away, she was very pleasant, and took our drink orders right away, then she came back and took our food orders in a timely manner. While we were waiting for our food i noticed the all glass lenses for the lamps were very dirty and dusty. Our food arrived quickly, we both ordered a smash burger combo and fries, We both took a bite of our burgers, and were schocked how salty it was. it tasted like someone emptied the bottled on our burgers. My wife complained to the server, she offered replace the burgers. when the new burgers arrived they were better, still a little on the salty side but better. The service was great but we won't be returning here.
