Chicken Caesar wrap with honey garlic sauce.
    Lauren H.

I'm here from Windsor, on a business trip for work and needed a place to eat tonight for dinner. This Kelsey's is really close to my hotel in Burlington, my coworker and I made the decision to come here tonight for dinner. Walked in and was seated right away, and were asked if we preferred bar area seating or dining area; we chose the bar area, realizing after our table was pretty small, we should've chose the dining area, but we got great service nonetheless. Our waitress was Katie, she was great, down to earth, friendly and took our drink orders and suggested one of the two sangria's to my coworker. I signed up for their offers and promotion emailing list and got a free spinach dip, what could be better? I ordered a diet Coke and some deep fried pickles as well. Within minutes our drinks came out and about 10 minutes after that our apps came out. We then waited a bit for her to take our order. I ordered the Buff'd Up Chicken Caesar wrap, and it was suggested to me by a waiter at a different Kelsey's to have the sauce honey garlic instead of their regular medium sauce, and sweet potato fries, I was also offered the dipping sauce, which is 75 cents, but I wanted it anyway, which I wasn't offered at the Kelsey's in Windsor, so this was nice. My coworker ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich, which she said it was really good, as well as sweet potato fries. We filled ourselves up on the apps, that we ate half our meal and she gave us take out containers, but we weren't offered dessert, which was fine, I was full enough already as it was. Katie was great! The neat thing about this Kelsey's is it being located in Oakville, yet my hotel is right across the street in Burlington. I was trying to check in using the app on my phone and I was looking for a Burlington address. It was a great night with food and company!

Great patio, great service. Street traffic noise during rush hour. Great drink specials. Check them out.

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Upon entering, the space is super spacious and clean. My friend ordered their 2 egg special with bacon, and I ordered their soup and sandwich combo ($12/13). I decided to go with their tuna salad and chicken noodle soup. Upon recommendation from our server, I also ordered their cappuccino- it was very delicious. Amazing food and great service, I would like to come back and try some of their dinners dishes.

The decoration is very nice and makes you feel at home. I would love to sit here all day and enjoy a hot coffee with my muffin. The muffin menu includes seasonal flavors and classic ones. Muffins come in regular and mini sizes. Vegan and keto options are also available. Right amount of sugar is added to the muffins and scones, which is not something you can find in most places. It's more delicious and healthy. You can also buy prepackaged frozen muffins to take home and eat whenever. I loved the Blueberry scones, not amount of sweetness for me. The classic flavors were delicious, but a few flavors that were unique here were "Pear & Fig" and "Morning Glory". Both are must-try flavors and I would definitely recommend them.

We saw that there were patrons in there and that the sign was still flipped to open. When we walked in, we got strange stares from all three staff members that were working there. When we got to the register we saw that there were was a leaflet about their participation in the Kids Fest event. Kids could come by and claim a sticker for visiting the business. I guess that's why they were open late. They still had muffins for sale so I ordered a carrot one to go. I found it to be pretty dry and tasteless. Had to fight to get through most of it. I'm thinking that it might be because it was more of an end of day muffin. Not a great experience here.

I have to say the beef stew was my favourite, it was flavourful and the meat was tender. The service was great. It was a chilly in there, the only criticism would be that it could use some personal touches, the restaurant itself seems a little bare. But the food made up for it.

I've only tried it myself once, and honestly, it wasn't quite to my personal taste. But food is very subjective, and I'm clearly in the minority in my family! My kids both when they were teenagers and now as adults--have always loved it, and my nephew and niece are big fans as well. The portions were good from what I remember, and the restaurant always seems busy, which says a lot. Just because it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it isn't doing something right. When so many young people keep coming back and ordering from the same place year after year, that's usually a sign that they're doing a good job. If you're into this style of food, there's a good chance you'll enjoy it as much as the younger generation in my family does!
