They have absolutely ruined my car. I first took my car to…read moreget it looked at because I had just bought it from a private dealer and wanted to make sure everything was good. Midas gave me a whole list of things that needed to be fixed which was a total of $2k in repairs. I believed them even tho the car was showing no signs of having problems. I took my car in a second time to have the brakes changed since they said they needed to be replaced which was a cost of $540, when I got my car back I started noticing a weird sound coming from my tires. I then brought my car in again to get the thermostat and cam shaft sensors fixed since they said it needed fixing, I told them about the sound I had been hearing in my tires ever since they changed my brakes and they said they will take a look at it. I took the car in at 1130 and waited all day, it wasn't until 5pm when I went back and asked for an update and they then told me that they broke something in the car so the car had to stay overnight because it was going to take a while to get the piece they got stuck in there out. They gave me a loan car at no cost and was told I can pick my car up the next day. The next day I went and paid $909 for those repairs, they told me nothing was wrong with the brakes so I took my car home but I noticed the sound on the tires got way worse. When I turned on my car the next time after taking it home, my car was having trouble turning on. I took the car back to Midas to get it looked at because that sound in the tired was horrible and my car kept sputtering trying to turn on. They told me they took the car apart and nothing was wrong with the brakes again but that they found a new issue with the car that was going to be a $1k repair. The day after they checked the car, I am driving down the freeway and my car starts beeping and a light turned on in the dash so I immediately pulled over and noticed smoke coming out of the front of my car. We were ready to get the car towed when luckily a police officer pulled behind us and took a look at the car and noticed the tube that connects the coolant to the engine was not plugged in which caused all of my coolant to leak out. My car was not perfect when I took it to Midas but ever since they touched my car, my car has been worse off. I genuinely feel like they have been ripping me and my husband off, and rather than fixing things they told me was wrong, they have broken my car.

They took me to Northern Tire, and very quickly approached me and asked me what I needed. I also badly needed new tires, so I took this opportunity to get a set from them. I have been shopping around for a while and when I asked about the tires I wanted, the prices were very comparable to that of Tirerack.com. They told me they would get all the studs and tires next morning and that it should be ready by noon that day. 11:00am rolled around, and they called me and told me my vehicle was ready. The repairs were done, and they balanced my wheels and mounted my new tires without a problem! No waiting, just came in, paid my very reasonable bill of the repairs and went off with my day (it would've only been a little bit cheaper if I bought the studs myself and did the repairs). Lifetime of tires gets free rotations. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would definitely recommend doing business with them!

Chris and Brian both true professionals who were easy to work with. Both genuinely seemed like they care about what they do and taking care of the customers. Needless to say my ride came in sounding like crap from a previous mechanic off post and they were able to fix those repairs for a better rate. If you're a service member or dependent take your vehicle here, don't deal with the mom and pop places off post as they'll take you for a dollar or two.

One star is about 5 stars too many for this place…read more I should have listened to my instincts when I first arrived here. The guy at the counter (store manager Mike Kearing) printed off my work order and told me to take it out into the shop (watch my step) and give it to the shop manager. Normally shops do not allow customers into the service area. Apparently the guy at the counter is too lazy to bring the work order into the shop. So I bring out the work order. The guy out there says "white letters in or out". I said out. He said "your husband must clean your tires". Really? Should that be any concern of his who cleans my tires? Over $87 to change 2 tires when the site I bought the tires from quotes $58 for them to do the job. The store manager (or owner, not sure which-the guy at the counter) claimed it took well over an hour to change tires that size (315/75R16), claimed they were a real pain (how would he know when he can't even get out of his chair to deliver a work order). Funny thing, just one week ago I had 2 rear tires plus my spare(so 3 tires) of the same size changed at Laplante tire in massena and it didn't even take 1/2 hour. Store manager couldn't find my keys when I left.....he had one of the young mechanics take me into the shop to find my keys". The 2 young mechanics (one of them was kind enough to tell me his positive experience with tires just like I bought) looked in the shop-no keys. They went back out and found my keys right on the store manager's desk right by his keyboard where he was sitting and couldn't find them. This place is a sad joke. So I was mad enough about just getting totally ripped off by this skeevy place, but it gets better. On the way home, my truck seemed to pop out of gear (it's an automatic) and every gear including reverse now acts like neutral. I had to get towed the rest of the way. My truck has never had transmission problems so it is quite the coincidence this happened before I even made it home from this sketchy garage. I'm assuming they knocked a wire or sensor loose, but who knows. So I have a truck sitting in my yard with new tires but now it won't go anywhere. I also have a much larger credit card charge than I should have had. STEER CLEAR OF POTSDAM TIRE! This place is creepy and a complete rip off. Update-I noticed yesterday this place also trashed one of my tires that would have been a perfectly good spare. What kind of "tire shop" can't break down a tire without trashing the bead? This place should be out of business.
