First time at Chug-A-Lug and my experience matched all the good things I have heard about this place. I was skeptical about a rooftop being in Glenwood but my expectations were exceeded. The 3- level concept gives you the opportunity to decide how intimate you would like your night to be. Main level allows for booth seating, rooftop provides a good opportunity to enjoy the weather while enjoying your food, drinks and music. The basement was my favorite part. It was the perfect place for ADULT fun. Each level has a bar offering more options based on which level you sit at. My service was great! The young lady was very honest with our food selections. I originally wanted a salmon burger but she was honest about the many reviews so I went with the southern fried catfish that comes with two sides. I chose the rice pilaf and asparagus. The sides were a little salty but overall meal 8/10. I paired my food with a 1800 reposado mule which definitely was delicious. Right amount of spirit and other ingredients. If you like Red 40, Hennessy, Baddies, Rod Wave, Twerking, and being a statistic in this oppressed society this is the perfect place for you! Service is terrible waited 15 minutes at a bar with two people for a bartender and it took her 10 minutes to get a Blue Moon. Then when moved to a table it took another 15 minutes for a server to even acknowledge our presence. Took 15 minutes for drinks (keep in mind there were only 5 tables of people) then took her 15 more minutes to come back to get our food order. Took 20 minutes for food to come from that interaction. I ordered the Catfish Poboy which had American cheese on it and was wet like a white castle sandwich. It was loud and not from the music but the other parties that used this place like it was a strip club. Keep in mind this was a Monday. They also charge a 15% service charge no matter your party size on top of the state tax. Plenty of people kept sending the food back and they blamed it on the new chef. If you want to just get lit and listen to music with some overpriced underwhelming drinks sure come on in. The menu had plenty of options from chicken, burgers, chops and pastas. The drink menu was pretty decent. We order the tomahawk chop which came with mashed and green beans, and I order an extra side which was Mac and cheese. And kid had the plain wings with fries. We both enjoyed our food. The chop was huge and I can barely finish it! Also ordered a drink called the grand cognac it was pretty decent. Our server named was Tanaya. She was great! My 1st experience/ order was to try out the food with a small order for lunch/ early afternoon. I ordered the buffalo wings unaware the wings are cooked in the same oil as shrimp. Also the wings were old wings appearing to be from the previous day. Today's order 4/25/26 after learning more info that ALL FRIED FOODS Share the same oil as shell fish! Not good!! The waiter was quite pleasant. Therefore, I had limited options. I thought my choice of Buffalo chicken flatbread would be a safe choice. Unfortunately not the case. After waiting 2hrs after placing my order it was received barely warm and very salty with a strange after taste and no real taste of buffalo or chicken. Everyone else at my table had already finished eating. Granted, we had a large party, however, or whatever the case, there were many errors made on multiple orders that had to be returned to the kitchen. For food being cooked wrong, tough steaks, hard to chew, etc.. This spoke volume to me. Being fully aware of how a kitchen operates and how orders should be placed , it was clear the orders were not being cooked by the specific table because the waiters were jumping between tables that came in after us serving them before our table. Although we were all with the same party, but sat between 3 tables. The big issue here is after speaking to the manager, who was quite arrogant, never apologized, not one time, but began to explain to me something so elementary of how some foods take longer than others. Never acknowledge that something was going on in the kitchen, nor do I believe she went to the kitchen after we spoke and try to investigate. She remained behind the bar. The last person received their order 2 1/2 hours after everybody else had eaten. This is unacceptable and the restaurant really needs to look in their management to be more sincere towards their customer complaints and listen to what being said instead of citing prepared excuses and recite unrelated things to the real matter of a problem. Found this place on a fluke. Was going to a gas station nearby and heard some nice music coming from their upstairs patio. Went to check it out and was truly amazed. Large monitors to watch sports and a robust menu selection. Had the cheese stick and bourbon wings. Soooo good. You can actually see the seasonings on them. Not like those you get when they just drop the stick in oil from a frozen bag. This wings really hit the spot. Ok. I am not a suburban kinda a girl. I like to dine or bar in the city. I went on a double date to this place and during the drive rolled my eyes. Like what could be better than a nice date in the city? Well this place was actually great! They have a ton of security so I felt safe. They have a casino area, bowling area, DJ on the lower level, bars on each of the levels, a rooftop, pool tables and a juke box on the top floor. Wow! Food was excellent. We enjoyed the wings and hush puppies. The drinks were poured well also and we didn't break the bank. If you're interested in a fun time on the Friday or Saturday night and you want a break from the city or if you just live in the south burbs. This is a cool place to go. I've visited this establishment a couple of times now (9/14/2022 & 8/19/2024) and still feel the same as the first visit. The food is just ok, to me. And is served cold at times (a fresh hot dish was provided after informing our server, who wasn't surprised it was cold to begin with). The other guests with me really enjoyed their food. The servers have good intentions, but the service could be better. Repeatedly asking for water or to have used dishes removed from the table isn't my favorite thing to do. If you ask for the 18% service charge to be removed, you'll be told no, at least we were. And said service charge is not considered automatic gratuity. Definitely, sounded like a lie to me because whenever I've asked for these erroneous charges/fees to be removed at other places (including downtown-as the server was quick to say "they don't remove them downtown either.") I've never been told no. Then we were asked to give our tip as cash. Otherwise, it'll be divided up between the kitchen, server, and table bussers, according to our server. If I could give an actual star review, I'd give 2.5. The positive 2.5 would be for: good portion sizes with a variety of food items to choose from, spacious interior, great for large groups, for watching sports, they have a rooftop, which is non-existent in the south suburbs, and they have an area with recreation options downstairs (bowling, billiards, arcade style games), as well as the now trendy gaming machines if that's your thing. Service was slow... took almost 45 minutes to be waited on.... Placed our order....mango habanero wings, Cobb salad, Caesar salad with grilled chicken and spinach, artichoke dip... once the food came the presentation of the food was really nice. The spinach artichoke dip had a very thick layer of cheese on top of it as I dug into it. I ended up having to pull the whole piece of cheese back.It had a good taste, but it had a gritty pasty texture in my mouth so I started mixed it up but all of that didn't help so I just pushed it to the side, proceeded to start with my Cobb salad which had grilled chicken in it. The grilled chicken was chard, which had a burnt taste to it and so was the chicken in the Caesar salad.... the habanero mango wings were pretty good, I had a bill over $100 and I was completely dissatisfied with the whole meal. I asked the waitress to have the spinach artichoke dip taken off because she saw I really didn't eat it. But when we ordered, were were told that was no longer available because they don't have the wings for that special. Not that they didn't have wings, mind you... Just not the wings for THIS special. We changed our orders and we're shocked to find that some items were "downsized". The service left a bad taste in our mouths but the drinks were strong and the pizza was good. Hey there, I have been to Chug-A-Lug several times and it was always great. Good food and great entertainment. I was there on Wednesday to karoke with Lady Red and she was AMAZING. I ordered my usual chicken and steak quesadillas and fries. When they brought my order out, the fries were cold and I sent them back. Then the waitress came to tell me they left my steak out and brought a small plate of burnt steak for me to insert into my quesadilla. I sent back for it to be remade. Less than 2 minutes later, they brought out my order (this was way too quick to be remade). I opened it and there was no chicken this time, but it contained the burnt steak. Sent it back. Waitress came back and said the chicken was there, just noT the slice that I was eating. Very disappointed in the cook and I won't be ordering food from there ever again. I waited at the bar without service for quite a while--wasn't acknowledged until someone else stood next to me, and even then, they received their drink before me. Parking is horrendous as the lot is not large and you have to park down a bit in the overflow lot. I'm sure at some point the liquor store adjoining will request 20 min parking signs so his business can be patronized. We sat at the bar for drinks and to check it out. Lots of space and staff so things moved rather quickly from what I could tell. Downside from others was the upstairs bar was not as fully stocked as the downstairs and they had to come down to get their drink preference and head back up. 3.5 Sunday Funday was held here with my lil sis and I. We planned to arrive early to have the place to ourselves to explore. I've heard on weekends this place is parked and I wanted a pleasant experience. We were greeted and inquired about rooftop sitting But we were told that it does not open until after 1:00. I did ask the young lady who was the whole sis to let us know if it did open up any earlier so we can go and check out the rooftop. According to our way staff, they're bringing out a new brunch menu so we were able to order. My sister ordered shrimp and grits and I ordered chicken and waffles and then they also let us get an additional item which was two scrambled eggs. Both of nose brunch items for $18 in a better value was definitely the shrimp and grins. It was a huge massive bowl and grits. And what about maybe eight shrimp on top? I'm not sure I don't eat shrimp but I definitely grab some of those grits. I love my waffle and was cooked to perfection but the chicken definitely lacked I didn't taste any chicken at all and then have a nice crunch. And if you get the chicken wing option it's a winklet and you only get like three. So that's like all wings and in half which is not a good deal. Go with the breast or go with the tenders. Do not get the wing! For my backpage I went with the pineapple upside down take martini. It was amazing, very potent. I needed a whole glass of water with that drink. I'll wait. Staff did come to check on us quite frequently. It was it that many other people in the restaurant. So about halfway through the mail the one of the young lady said that we would be able to go upstairs and look around at the rooftop. So we were so ecstatic. We ran upstairs. Definitely Wendy up there. They do have signage outs in to be aware of the wind. I don't know how anybody could eat there on the rooftop in their items. Not fly all over the table but it was really pretty. It was such a warm day, but we enjoyed the vitamin D snap some pictures and ran to the lower level whether it's like a game room. The lower level had duck bill bowling which is $30 I believe. It's not normal size bowling balls nor pins. I don't think it's worth it. They also have ax throwing billiards and video games. Tonight was my first night ever going here, and I am highly disappointed and angry at the The lack and the poor pathetic service that we received. I will never return here!!! we had a group of 35 people, that was booked for this evening. As an establishment, you should've made sure you had more than enough people to ensure that you had quality service. We arrived at 5 PM this evening. We set to begin taking our orders at about 6 PM this evening. Multiple individuals in my group had to wait an hour to upwards to two hours to receive food. The food came out cold and had to be sit back. My order was messed up, and I had to order something else. I waited an additional 30 minutes. I did not receive my food until almost 8:30 PM, when I was getting ready to leave. now I will give a credit to my waiter, because he tried his best. You had only two cooks in the back, one waiter for an entire area of 35 people, and one bartender on staff. This was the absolute worst service that I have ever experience, and I was not even able to enjoy the damn food. Went there today. The wait to order was long. They had only one host who was seating and taking orders. Eventually the bartender had to help out. We finally got our food and it was pretty good. The wings were good. They add an 18% service fee but you don't get good service. If they can ever figure out how to do that this place could be legendary. read more

Disclaimer: I stared at EVERYONES food coming out..I did this for y'all (and so I know what to try next) lmao. Rib tips: Nice and saucy. It gives you a hint of your local rib joint with a splash of boujee. The lack of the sauce let me know who ever was in the kitchen KNEW what was up! Boneless chicken: usually I get tossed but I wanted to fry multiple sauces for y'all. So I got them dry and got Parmesan garlic, Buffalo and fiery takis on the side. I do NOT recommend this "establishment." A small group of my friends and I met at Chug A Lug for Wednesday night karaoke. This was my first time going. Fyi: my husband advised me to NOT go in the first place because he found it to be a "hood" place the one and only time he went. But I was not the organizer of the outing, so I hoped for the best. We decided to meet there because my best friend had just flown in town to bury her brother in a couple of days. We were told Chug A Lug was open until midnight. The website states the same. However, upon getting there around 10:30p (after my friend had just gotten off the plane), we were told the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes, so we had to rush to order. No problem. Then someone announced karaoke was over at 11p. (By then it was 10:45p.) I went to request a song but was told there was a line of people ahead of me and that it was too late. Again, no problem because I was too late. I came to learn that the people who performed karaoke ahead of me were restaurant employees who were "working" their shift at the time. What happened to being customer centered? Then at about 11:30, the bartender who had performed her karaoke set a little while earlier yelled at the top of her lungs that the restaurant was closed. My friends hadn't yet finished their food or drinks as it was A HALF AN HOUR PRIOR TO THE BAR'S STATED CLOSING TIME. So we continued to finish our food and drinks thinking it was more of a warning that it would SOON be closing. Then about 8 minutes later, a man shouts at us saying, "ladies, we cannot count our money while you're still here!" That was it. I don't stay where I'm not wanted. We gathered our things and left without issue. It was 11:48p. Why were they closing early? One thing I know for sure is that they never would have done that to a group of white men or white women. We were a group of 45-50 year old professional black women. We paid and tipped our server on top of the tip already included in the bill and on top of the fee for paying with a card. We paid and double-tipped before they started screaming that the bar was closed at 11:30. Also, I noticed that our server showed me the amount due rather than the itemized breakdown of the bill. I looked at the tip options, and I noticed it showed 5%, 7% or something like that. I then asked why the tip options were not 20%, etc. That's when I realized the tip was already included in the bill and these were additional tipping options. But that's why the server should give the person paying the bill the actual pay invoice so we can REVIEW IT, INSPECT FOR ERRORS, AND NOTICE THE VARIOUS FEES AND TIPS ALREADY INCLUDED. But notwithstanding that, I still gave him the additional tip. Again, this was before we were rudely kicked out. Overall, their team was so disrespectful towards us as patrons and extremely unprofessional. They need to change the sign to reflect that they close at 11:30. (But perhaps then they would yell at their patrons at 11 to get out. They need better training. As an fyi: I read other reviews about this place on the BBB's website and saw other complaints and negative reviews about their unethical business practices including breaching contracts and not returning people's money. This is their practice. I will NEVER return. They will never get one penny from me again. Keep your money. Been here all of 3 times. The service sucks every time. It is dark inside. They had one security person who I spotted at the bar, our waitress was also spotted at the bar dancing. There was only one bartender who was also at the bar dancing. I've only been on the 1st floor each time I went. Food is ok, nothing for me to ever say I want to go back and get a certain menu item. Oh and this is the 2nd time I've found something floating around in my cocktail. All in all. I don't have to return. Maybe need new management. read more

I really enjoyed my visit yesterday. We arrived and were seated immediately. The Margarita flights were so good. I had the buffalo chicken egg rolls which were so good. The waiter was so fun and friendly and the music was exactly what I wanted, 90s-early 2000s. I like that it was 30 and up as well. read more
