We absolutely loved our stay at South Coast winery resort and spa! We booked a two day stay for a Valentines weekend getaway, including a couples massage reservation, and a dinner reservation at the Vineyard restaurant on site. When we arrived and checked in, we were given complementary tasting room coupons and immediately went to the tasting room to check out their wines and relax a bit. The tasting room was classy and busy with a gift shop and very helpful staff who immediately set us down the path toward learning more about South Coast wineries offerings. We had a wonderful time sampling their wines and their food was spectacular. We highly recommend their charcuterie platter, which was definitely next level. And by and far worth the price! Check out the picture below. Our room was amazing. We booked a room in one of the little clustered villas, which are basically groups of four individual rooms attached to each other, but separated by a central courtyard. The cool thing about these is that you have your privacy completely. None of your walls adjoining the walls of any of the other three rooms in your cluster. So there's no worry about noise from the neighbors or disturbing your neighbors with any noise of your own. Plus, our room had a gas fireplace that was very romantic, and a little terrace outback for enjoying the nice weather and the views of this surrounding vineyard. Very romantic and relaxing. Everything is pretty much within an easy walking distance from the villas as well. You can go to the spa or the hotel or the tasting room or the pool all within just an easy five minute walk or so. I'll do reviews of the restaurant and the spa itself separately, but I will say here that both of them were definitely top-notch first class and well worth making a reservation during your stay. Pro tip number one: make reservations for the hotel for the restaurant and for the spa. And make them in advance. You'll thank me. Pro tip number two: book your stay through the hotel itself instead of a third-party app. There are many bonuses and discounts you'll receive along the way for doing so and a complementary bottle of wine upon check-in. Definitely a lesson hard learned by us but next time we'll be doing it that way. Pro tip number three: joined the wine club. It's a great value. 25% off all wines and serious discounts on merchandise and even your stay at the hotel and your spa services! The wines are pretty affordable to start with but with a 25% discount, it's just a deal you can't pass up. We were so impressed with the winery all of its amenities and its location and value for the money that we will definitely be coming back and recommending it to others.

Explored a couple wineries this past weekend starting with South Coast. I'll keep it brief-this place was nice. The atmosphere, ambience and environment was nice and clean. Even on a nice Saturday afternoon during brunch hours, it wasn't too crowded or busy at all. We mostly stayed in the tasting room then went in the member's lounge for bit before taking a walk outside. It's pretty spacious, attracting more of a mature older crowd, if that's your thing. The staff we encountered were all enthusiastic. They even had a taco guy there near the member's lounge which was great- they had a mushroom taco for my veggie people and a cheese quesadilla for the vegetarians. While I had a good time, I'm not sure I'd ever come back here. It wasn't bad, just nothing compelling me to come back-especially since I'm not a drinker, just came to explore with some friends. I'm particularly looking for the winery with the best brunch menu and an interesting crowd of people, which I didn't find here. If you enjoy wine, good scenery and a somewhat lokey spot where you can get out, yet, still have some space to yourself and escape the crowds, this is probably the winery for you.

Still our favorite spot to stay at when we're visiting Temecula Wine Country. Close to all the places we frequent. The rooms (more like suites) are always clean and everything in working order. The employees at check in are always friendly & helpful. We've stayed in both the villas and tower and both are great. Another wonderful visit!

2025 Temecula visit and wine tasting! A must visit if you have never been. Dog friendly winery who let our dogs sit with us during the tasting. Christian was a good server who explained the wines well and added to the quality of our tasting. This visit we tried the following: White Romanza 4/5 Sparkling gewurztraminer 4/5 Merlot rose 5/5 Red Romanza 5/5 4 block Cabernet Sauvignon 4/5 Camber Cabernet Sauvignon 5/5 Wild horse peak Meritage 3/5 Overall, a good wine tasting and of course decided to take home a few bottles of our favorites. Tip: 10% Military/Veteran discount upon request. Thanks again South Coard Winery Resort & Spa for another great visit! Will be back again on our next Temecula visit.

We stayed here for a romantic weekend getaway, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and guided to our accommodations. We were upgraded to one of the villas, which was absolutely amazing. The rooms are elegantly designed with a charming old-vineyard aesthetic. The bathroom was massive with plenty of counter space, and the bed was incredibly plush and comfortable. My favorite feature was the small patio area that opened directly onto the vineyard, complete with a table and chairs. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or end the night with a glass of wine. During our stay, we booked a wine-tasting tour that took us to several local wineries. Afterward, we walked to the property's own tasting room and later enjoyed dinner and drinks onsite--super convenient. All in all, our long weekend was wonderfully spent, and we will definitely be returning.

The cleanliness of the shower floor was lacking and subpar; as a result, after my shower, my feet were on fire all night and I developed athlete's foot. On my left big toe An Outrage!

stayed for my son's soccer tournament. nice property all around. the hotel itself is low rise and slightly dated. however, that's made up for with the winery and tasting room and the grounds they occupy. we brought the kids so perusing the tasting room was a bit ambitious. lots of bachelor and bachelorette parties and the accompanying debauchery that surrounds those occasions. but, we managed thanks to the space in outdoor areas of the winery. the room itself was very spacious and afforded us a nice view of the vineyard outside. we were on the 2nd floor had a walled off balcony area that was not as pleasant to have to stand over to see anything. but, there was a nice seating area. we had a king sofa bed in the room which was nice perk. unfortunately, that thing had seen better days. the bathroom was large and had a huge soaking tup. we did order room service, but, surprisingly, it came in to-go containers. i would've thought a place like this would have actual plates and silverware. overall, a nice stay. the price was a little inflated due to the tournament, but, we'd stay again if the price was right.

South Coast Winery Resort was one place I wanted to visit while in Temecula because it's the only winery with a spa resort and a salt water pool. Winery and Spa resort sounded ideal, because after an anxiety feeling day dealing with medical appointments, spa time was much needed. The spa facility looked clinically clean. Was lucky to able to book a spa session melon massage which was devine. Some of the spa products used had ingredients from the vineyard some had a subtle scent of earth while others exuded scent of fresh crushed grapes, all very therapeutic and relaxing. Service from the staffers was fantastic. Would have been nice to luxuriate by the salt water pool all day while sipping chilled wine but due to time constraints my visit didn't include that and it was too hot outside for my comfort level and intolerable. The decor appeared to be dated but the resort has rooms overlooking the vineyards which were spectacular. The concierge can help with other activities ie hot air balloon rides, which I didn't do but I will save that for another time. This resort is considered 4 stars mainly for all the amenities it offers but I wouldn't consider is Beverly Hills standards Luxurious. The resort grounds and vineyards are within 60 acres, enough space to wanderlust, when the weather is cooler and I will have to return to all the activities offered at South Coast Winery Resort. Recommend

This is by far my favorite place to stay when I go to Temecula. I love the spa here. The pool and jacuzzi are tranquil. I love the private little studio retreats. They have a cute little gift store, and the grounds are beautiful. This is a wonderful getaway from the business of Las Vegas life. I always buy a couple bottles of wine to take home. There are beautiful views outside of your patio in the morning!

Ask the Community - South Coast Winery Resort & Spa

Are food and drinks available during concerts?

We reserved a table at the "Rythm on the Vine" concert last night and we could pre-order food in advance or order off the QR code menu real-time. There were also quick-service food and beverage options, including multiple full-service bars. Outside…

Is the restaurant and tasting area dog friendly?

Yes. I saw so many people along the path walking from the hotel to the restaurant with their fur babies and also in the tasting room before we checked in. They have an outside patio dining area, as well as indoor dining.

Does the hotel stay include a wine tasting or any other of the services at the winery?

Mine didn't

Is there a grape stomping event this year?

Are children allowed all throughout your winery? & is a reservation for the pool still needed?

Reservations for pool are no longer needed, but you must be a guest of the hotel to use it. I did see kids at the pool when I was there.

Can I bring outside food?

You can't bring outside food when wine tasting. It states that in the hand out when you check in.

Is there a charging station for electric cars?

Unfortunately, no. The closest one is off of Winchester in Temecula at a mall. It's about a 15-20 minute drive from the resort and it's a bit difficult to find - 3rd level of a parking structure.

Is this part of the Carter Estates Winery/Resort? We are attending a wedding in 2021 at Carter and was wondering if there is a shuttle to Carter from Southcoast (half a mile isn't that far but it is in heels :-)

It's about 0.3-0.4 mile walk. I am not sure if there is a shuttle or if they are related. You may ask the winery concierge or front desk. If there are enough people staying at Southcoast, you may score a ride.

I see that you are pet-friendly, but then the details only mention dogs. Do you allow a cat? 🐱

We only allow dogs on the property.

We are visiting in September and already ha s reservations. Should we reserve the pool now or is it safe to wait until check in?

Reserve early- they book up.

Can I pay for pool access even though I am not staying there?

No, especially now. Even when you are staying right now in the pandemic, you're required to reserve the pool with a phone call.

How ahead of time can I reserve a pool time?

As long as you have a current hotel reservation, you can make a pool reservation at any time.

Is this place currently open for wine tasting?

We are open for wine flights, and wine by the glass or bottle from 11am-5pm daily on our outdoor patios only. We highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time online at: https://www.southcoastwinery.com/winery/winetasting

Is there RV parking @ location?

So, There is a fair amount of parking, so I would imagine you could arrange to park your RV there - but certainly you are not able to actually stay in your RV. There are plenty of nice RV parks in and near Temecula.

How many tastings do you get?

We got 5 different wines per tasting. You can also split a tasting with someone.

Is it kid friendly?

Yes/No.. depends on where you are at. The spa isn't for kids only adults and same w the pool. You should leave the kids at home.

What are the average prices for a two days stay?

Depends if you are going during the week or weekend. Do you want to stay in the villas in the vineyard or the hotel tower? Weekends run you about 300 a night plus fees. Week days about $100 cheaper. Prices have gone up over the years

Does the pool area have food and beverage service?

Yes, the pool has a little bar and limited food.

Do all rooms have a bathtub?

Believe all the villas do. Don't know about the new hotel bldg.

Our plan was to relax, make memories, have good food and wine, and experience the beauty of Temecula wine country. Miramonte was our first vineyard and we had dinner there on the patio. We got a table that didn't have a view and instead it was in the middle of the patio dining area. There were so many other guests around us and it was loud. At least it was shaded and I think there were misters...? So that made things enjoyable in terms of the heat. We ordered their pitcher of White Sangria (which was somewhere around $42-$48). It said there was going to be peach in the batch with other fruit. The result was frozen berries in a very water downed pitcher if white wine and ice. I hate to say this, but I have had better White Sangria at The Olive Garden. The one I make at home was 100 x's better. For food we ordered the Charcuterie Board, which was huge! That was a very impressive display of cured meats and cheeses. Totally loved the pickled vegetables! We also ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms, Oaxacan Pepperoni & Honey Flatbread, and Truffle Garlic Fries (I think they said "truffle," but I could ne wrong because all I tasted was garlic and parm). The Mushrooms were delicious! I would order that dish again, but then again I am a lover of mushrooms. At the end, I was surprised to not get any Bach party recognition. Most of the places we went to, my girls and I got perks for the celebration. I mean the hostess didn't even wish a "Congratulations." At least she was nice to get a group shot with the beautiful sunset. I am usual a 5-star giver and I feel bad giving this place a 2-star. Luckily some of the food was actually good, so thank goodness a 3-star is the final result. I mean Miramonte did set our bar very low for the rest of the wineries thus making the other ones we went to on our trip were supreme -- which were Akash and Ponte. Both Akash and Ponte were aaaaaaamazing!

The Cave is breathtaking, and the entire team made us feel so welcomed and cared for from start to finish. Everything was beautifully organized, making our day completely stress-free and unforgettable. We loved it so much that we returned on the Fourth of July for dinner with our dog, and once again received exceptional service. The food, wine, and atmosphere were just as amazing. A special thank you to Ashlyn and the entire staff for going above and beyond to create memories we'll cherish forever. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly set Oak Mountain Winery apart.

Upon arrival, the property checked one of my requirement boxes: paved parking. I cannot tolerate parking in dirt that removes the shine on my tires and rims. After some confusion, I finally arrived at the correct tasting room for non-members and began my tasting with assistance from Eric, a fine young gentleman who offered to guide me through my journey. He provided the history of the winery and the background of the various wines I sampled. I was not fond of their white wines, but their red wines possessed character, complexity, and depth. The price of the tasting was on the high end, but I enjoyed it all the same. The property is very large, and well-maintained, and also hosts a distillery, somewhat hidden in the form of a speakeasy of sorts. Didn't partake, but intend to return in the future to sample. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will give some thought to joining their membership. Great views atop the hill, and a mellow vibe. Thank you Eric! Great customer service.
