Brittany, the bartender, was especially amazing -- she was so hands-on, attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a great time! The captain was professional and made us feel safe and comfortable the entire trip, and deckhands Jeff & Drew were awesome as well. Everyone on the crew brought such great energy and hospitality. We were able to kayak when we showed the confirmation email with the correct time. Rhey stated they would give us a safety briefing at the launch beach. They sent us down the street looking for the beach with kayaks past restaurants and other beaches. When we arrived at the beach, there was only one triple kayak but it was broken. They had to have another party if two return to the beach to swap for us to have their triple and finally place the party of two into a two person kayak. Then they just sent us out without instructions, safety briefing or any best directions. Our kayak's back rest broke as we were in the water. As we returned there were multiple people who had flipped over in the water. The staff had to go back to the shop to get anything to help them. Other random people in the water were trying to help the stranded people. Would not recommend this place unless you like broken equipment and useless staff.

We used this company to have fun jetskiing with a small group for my brother's wedding. It was…read morepretty easy to find, as there's giant signage that says "JET SKI" on the side of the road where you pull into the parking lot. As far as parking, the lot where the business is is paid. (I think $12 for 1-2 hours). There is free parking across the street, though. When going through safety measures, they do show video footage of people dying in accidents, so bring a stomach. I'm used to Lake Havasu, so they essentially say don't hit anything. Otherwise, go have fun. However, in San Diego, there are a lot of laws and harbor police that will give you a HEFTY fine if you don't obey the copious laws. Once you're on the water, there are lots of other boats and lots of 5mph/no-wake zones. Driving around the military aircraft carriers is pretty cool. You don't have to fill up on gas before you bring the jetski back, and we only used about 3/10 bars for an hour and a half of driving. For how stickler-ey SDHP is, this company tells you where not to go or how not to get a fine or injure yourself or the boat. The price is pretty reasonable, so I might be using them again this summer.

I'm a kayak angler in my home state, and on a business trip to San Diego, I wanted to ply…read moredifferent waters. The trip from Point Loma is just as described -- pedal out, get fresh sardines (bring cash in case the guide forgets), drag those sardines back around the harbor hunting halibut. It was a slow day, but the two of us still landed at least a fish an hour. Perfect weather and a great way to spend a day. No keepers, but that's fishing for you. It is definitely a workout, but once you get the pedal drive dialed in, you can haul butt in these things. It's just so easy to relax, drag your rod, and watch the sea life. Stable as a rock when the wake comes rolling at you, too. Their communication was prompt, booking was easy, and they're a really committed husband/ wife team. I would recommend them to anyone who loves to fish.

COVID-19: Open for rentals as of 10.21.20…read more Parking: Private lot. Even though there's a parking lot right outside the rental shop, we were asked to move to the dirt park across the street. My guess is that parking lot is reserved for other patrons of Mission Bay? We came on a Wednesday around 3 PM and did not make reservations. We did not have any issue getting a tandem hydro bike rental. It's $45 for a 90 minute rental, which isn't too bad. We found 90 minutes to be plenty of time. They sell water bottles for $1 and the bike has cup holders. It was our first time hydro biking. It's pretty sturdy and easy to get used to so instruction was super brief. I've been paddle boarding in Mission Bay before and I think it's a great place for these water sports. Water has been relatively calm both times. There are sea lions that hang out on the platform in the water. It was a fun day time activity, but I much prefer paddle boarding. This is still worth doing if looking for something new to try!

The SD speedboat adventure was my favorite water activity by far during my vacation stay…read more Carly was our boat tour guide, and she was very helpful during the entire process. At first, driving the boat at a low speed appeared well until she asked us to speed along a little faster; that's when I panicked. But no worries, she quickly came over with her boat and gave me a "pep talk" encouraging me to try out the faster speed for better control. I was reassured that the boat wouldn't tip over and that there is better control of the steering wheel at a faster speed rate. Once I got used to driving the speed boat at a faster rate, I was able to catch up to the rest of the boats in a timely manner. I got to see sea lions and birds, seagulls, etc. along the water and docks. We saw the Navy boats as well and some cool boats featured in past movie scenes. It was a fun and relaxing way to explore more of SD via boat. I highly recommend you try a speed boat adventure the next time you are out in SD exploring. 10/10!
