Looks like about 12 tables of varying sizes. The staff are very friendly. They helped us pick items that can be made peanut free. The noodles definitely had great chew and bounce. All the sauces had great depth of flavour and multiple levels of mild spice. It was definitely delicious. I would come back but only during off peak hours.

Provided a refreshing crunch to the spicy dishes we ate. Dandan Noodle The noodles were made well. The sauce was also good, but nothing special. Popcorn Chicken This was a standard popcorn chicken. Some tasted dry but it was mostly for my friend so I didn't try a whole lot. Tossed Noodles with Super Spicy Stir-Fried Beef Some of our friend's favorite of the night. It had a good kick, and the sauce was quite tasty. Spicy Century Egg with Grilled Peppers I really enjoyed the century egg and the sauce that came with it. Wonton in Red Chili Oil Pretty standard wonton you get in chili oil and peanut sauce. No complaints. Wanza Noodles Again, this was pretty decent. Nothing special, but it was done just right. Biang Biang Noodles Loved the texture of the thick, flat noodles. It was an interesting mix of toppings, but I guess it worked? I was more of a fan of the noodles than anything. Overall, all of the dishes tasted pretty good. It wasn't amazing or anything, but they did it right. The service was also okay, other than them forgetting our order twice, bringing the wrong item, and then finally being served our final dish after all the dish has come.

We went there for a pre-Father's Day dinner and left disappointed. This was actually our third or…read morefourth visit, and unfortunately each experience has been worse than the last. I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

I ordered a combo which comes with a selection of noodles/chow mein, a small appetizer, and drink. I chose their traditional Lanzhou beef noodle (you also get to choose what type of noodle to get. I got the medium flat noodle). For app, I got their kelp salad which was so refreshing, and a HK style iced tea. My friend was particularly craving their skewers which were a decent size too. I forgot to take pics, but their portions are very generous for the price. Their noodles are hand pulled and you can really tell the difference in the quality. It's more bouncy and filling as they have more substance to them. Their service was very attentive and quick, and while the space of the restaurant is fairly small, there was no wait for 2 of us at 6:30 on a Saturday. Coming with a bigger group may be tougher considering the space. My total bill came to just under $26 after tax and tip, which is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food I got. No complaints at all and I'll definitely be back to an Omni Noodle location for comfort value eats.

Hou Kee is a great budget friendly spot for a tasty and filling meal…read more FOOD (4/5) The Longjiang Pork Knuckle Rice is their specialty dish and is their store's namesake. The main portion of the dish is super tender braised pork knuckle (not as weird as it may sound) on a bed of white rice glazed with a house Chinese BBQ sauce. It comes with sides of pickled "sour" veggies (酸菜), cabbage, tofu, and hard boiled egg. The pork knuckle almost melts in your mouth and is so decadent with the BBQ sauce. The sides give nice textural contrast and palette contrast. VALUE (5/5) The pork knuckle rice altogether is $10 plus tax and leaves you full and fulfilled. Great portions and is balanced with good proportion of meat, rice, and veggies. They only take debit or cash. LOCATION (3.5/5) Located on the East side of Yonge St by Northtown Way, it is halfway between Finch and North York Center subway stations. There is paid street parking along Yonge. The store is quite small with 2-3 tables, so would expect to do takeout during peak hours. OVERALL (4.5/5) Really good value for a tasty well rounded meal. I will definitely be returning if I want a quick lunch or dinner with bang for buck. Paired with great flavours and quality of ingredients makes this a nice cheap eats reco!
