Good atmosphere, good food, good drinks…read more I had made a reservation for a table but had no problem getting a bar seat instead. I was there on a Tuesday and it was half priced oysters - what a thrill! My bartender made an excellent recommendation based on my preferences. Oysters were great and shucked at the bar. The mignonette was perfect. The beef tartare was marvelous - juicy meat, well balanced with the sauce and truffle chips. Triple crème was phenomeeeennnaalll. I shared that my doc is making me be gluten free and asked if there was anything that could serve as a sub. A server offered gluten free crackers (which were way tastier than they looked!). My only disappointment was that they didn't give me a heads up that the gf option was a $6 up charge. I know GF costs the restaurant, and I'm generally willing to pay a little more, but $6 for 15 crackers feels excessive!! The cheese itself was 10, I don't know that I would have added 50% to that item bc I can't eat the bread, and I would have liked the option of making the decision. Would return, but definitely want to give the heads up to my GF friends about the steep up charge.

We had the loveliest time here! We visited for their charcuterie workshop on a Sunday afternoon,…read moreand it was such a nice way to spend the afternoon. We got there early and were greeted by the most friendly workshop host/Dedalus employee, Brittany. They were still in the process of setting up the class, so we walked over to their little store/gift shop. I could've looked around in there for hours! They had so many unique and interesting things - panettone, gourmet chocolates, tin fish, meats, cheeses, gift boxes for the holidays, and much much more. The workshop we took was wonderful. It was lead by Brittany, their sommelier, and Dana, their cheese monger, and they taught us about different wine, cheese, and meat pairings to curate a holiday charcuterie board. The wines and cheeses they selected were divine and so delicious. I loved everything that they gave us, and they selected some pretty unique choices that I was worried I wouldn't enjoy. Everything was wonderful, and they gave us a lot of information about everything we consumed. This store is such a lovely spot and I wish I had something similar near me! It's cozy and classy, without being pretentious. Their sommelier knows so much about the wines they have and I never felt silly or stupid asking questions. She mentioned that she loves to ask customers about their preferences and budget and keeps a very open environment when people come in, and is able to select the best wines that suit them. I'm looking forward to coming back here the next time I'm in town!

This was our first visit to the Farmhouse. It was an exceptional dining experience. Though the main…read moreroom was large and seemed loud at first, it quickly become an enjoyable night out. This was mainly due to the great service and delicious meals ordered by each of us in our family of three. Our table was never left waiting and the food was served hot. Our meal choices were varied, including apps such as steak tartar and cheddar ale soup for one and the meatloaf plate and the turkey burger for the others. Everything was made with original flavor additions such as homemade sauces, fresh breads, and unique use of herbs and spices. Lastly, I was told to mention that the hand cut fries were exceptional. Since we visit Burlington often, we look forward to returning to the Farmhouse to try other dishes on their menu or just ordering the same meals since they were so good. We all agreed that this restaurant has definately moved to the top of the list for our next trip to Vt.
