This super quaint, but fun bar is the perfect place for a glass or two of natural wines. And, if you don't know much about natural wines the employees sure do. They can tell you about almost all the wines they serve and the best part...You can buy them right there as well. Yes, that's right! Due to their license you can sip and shop their selections. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up going twice. They had a tasting on Sunday where they opened up a few bottles and you get to try them all, for only $5 so it was a steal. I ended up bringing how a red wine from California. They also have small plates. We ended up sharing their olives and marcona almonds. We were warmly greeted, and they inquired if we were there for a table/bar seating, or the retail shop. We sat at the bar, and there were other customers at tables enjoying a glass and engrossed in conversation. They offer a small snack menu, along with a selection of wines, and they have a good knowledge and will provide counsel on the options. We ordered the ricotta toast and the lonzo, a ham similar to prosciutto. Both were delicious! The lonzo comes with a drizzle of quality olive oil on top, and a sprinkle of salt, and a dab of mustard. The ricotta toast (no pic sorry) was also tasty. The space leans to industrial loft, but is warm and invites conversations and relaxation. The shop also has a retail space, and a monthly wine club subscription is an option. It is separated from the restaurant, but not a quirk of their shop, but archaic Vermont liquor laws. We decide to subscribe and picked up our first selections to take home.

They were so gracious and gave us such a wonderful tasting experience. We learned about the inception of the wine, the production process and how the unique options are conceived. What do I mean by "unique options"? Well in addition to some well balanced but fruit forward standards such as raspberry wine, strawberry wine or apple rhubarb you will also find squash wine, tomato wine (yup, you read that right) and dandelion wine (which I LOVED). The tasting room is rustic and welcoming, the prices are great and the couple running the joint are fantastic. Add it to your must see Vermont wineries!!

Brianna - smooth, not too rich, a close runner up to the Maple 3. Highlands Blush - taste like strawberry! Delicious! 4. Arctic Fox - cool and smooth. Wasn't a favorite among the group, but personally I wanted a bottle. 5. Riesling - still delicious, but no surprises here - expected 6. Aromella - very fruity! Have a few of their liquors in a flight. The cocktails are made to go, so think about getting those as well. A lot of liquors to choose from. It's not like a bar, so it only has taster samples. Try a flight and sample a few of these. It's 4 of the liquors. Pay $5 to get a flight, and bottles can be $15 or more. Among the choices is the Blueberry Liqueur. Tastes a lot like pancake syrup. Among the more traditional ones, the Maple Whiskey is the best. This is a good use of local products and stuff. For sure go here if wanting to get some of the locally made liquors.
