The owners are so very nice and happy to talk shop aka Wine. So my husband drinks wine not me, but I tried the Artic Fox and had to buy a bottle, what can I say I like the sweet stuff! He decided he liked their white wine As well and picked up a bottle of Adalmiina which is a first he does not drink white wine? So kudos to you!!! So for reals those views are just freakin stunning so I will share a few. I would highly recommend this vineyard if you are in the area!!

Excellent. What a spot!!! What lovely owners!! We let the kids run on the beautiful field while we sampled a few wines.

Entrance with Burlington, VT, visible across the lake.

I was staying for business in Plattsburgh, NY, and decided to take the 30 minute drive out to the Highlands Vineyard and was not disappointed! The location is very scenic...right on the lake directly across from Burlington, VT. The couple who owned the facility were at the register and very willing to help. I did a 6 wine flight for $15, and bought a few bottles to take home for $22 to $25 each. They had gifts, craft beer on tap, and a boxed charcuterie board that you could enjoy outside on the patio or at one of the various benches facing the lake. Definitely worth the drive! They had dry red and white, semi-sweet rose', and sweet white wines available.

It really depends on your palette, and you have to understand that the grapes local to the area will not be your typical grapes. My family got flights, both sweet and dry. We really liked the 2023 Louise and 2022 Marquette. In fact, the Marquette was the best of the bunch from my point of view. The ciders were both really sweet, but the Eden Angeljus was pretty good and reminiscent of Mead. The Riesling was also a favorite. We got a cheeseboard for two, and that was freaking delicious. It came with a maple cranberry preserve that was out of this world. But the cheese, and even the crackers, were exceptionally good, too. Beyond that, the service was exemplary. Ruby in particular was a joy to talk to and quite good at her job. Finally, the live music they had playing was surprisingly good. I did not expect that kind of quality on a random Saturday in May. I highly recommend going to this winery.

We did one of the signature tastings and one of the sweet plus a yummycheese board with meat - very good and general amounts of crackers! The music was good and they were having a jazz band play later that evening. Outside, there are lovely views of the vines. Along with wine, there are food and non-alcoholic options. We enjoyed the tasting, found a wine we liked, took home two bottles, and couldn't resist one of the candles.

Judy and Jim were two of the most down-to-earth people you could ever want to meet. The wine was best we had tasted out of the five vineyards we visited. The farm is impeccably maintained. Everything is organic, and there are absolutely no fertilizers or pesticides. If you venture to northern Vermont, their vineyard is a must to add to your trip!

What a wonderful find! The property itself is beautiful. It's just off of Hwy 2, and as we walked up we were greeted by the "meter greeter", a friendly poodle named Luna. Classical music was being played from the top of a small hill, which only added to the peaceful, lovely scene. We were greeted by Judy, who owns the farm with her husband Jim. She gave us a nice tour of the vines and we got to watch some of the grapes being harvested. Had a taste too--delicious! Then she led us up to the sugar house where they not only ferment the wine, but make maple syrup in the spring. She proceeded to take is through a fantastic wine flight and we even tasted the two premium maple wines. Heavenly! I would love to come back to Vermont someday, and definitely plan to return to the Hillis' farm.
