Churchill Manor is our favorite bed and breakfast. Bryan and Joanne are friendly owners. Both of them make all feel welcome. They regularly have weddings on the property. The Victorian home is nicely furnished with antiques that make you feel at home in that era. They have a couple of different breakfast choices each day but if you need something else, ask. Today they worked with a vegan customer to meet her needs. Customers we talked with said they will be back. When we need a break we spend time chilling out with Bryan and Joanne. The house is a grand Victorian that is extremely well maintained and very clean. It was decorated for Christmas which was a nice plus. It has a nice porch with seating overlooking a large lawn area with a fountain. Perfect to enjoy in warmer weather. Breakfast was excellent. They had two entrees to choose from every morning and served with fresh fruit. A nice touch was a wine and appetizer hour. Cookies too. I can't say enough about how much I liked this place. Of course we love Victorian homes, so this checked all our boxes. A beautiful mansion. We were kindly upgraded to a king room when we arrived and it was very nice and comfortable. Quite spacious. Having a beautiful fireplace in the room created a very cozy evening for us. There was a bathtub in the room that was really nice. The bathroom itself included a shower and a nice area with a mirror for getting ready. We were able to walk to restaurants and tasting rooms along the waterfront which was a great plus. Maybe a 10 minute walk, and I'm a slow walker. Hosts were very nice people, as was the staff, and they took great care of us. We felt very welcomed. read more

We were recently guests at Churchill Manor in Napa for three nights, and I could have stayed longer. We were in Atlas Peak, which is on the 3rd floor and is a corner room with lots of windows. Brian and Chris the owners are fantastic. Very friendly and fun to talk to. The Manor house is exquisite. Lots of antiques, unique woods, and history. There are plenty of spots to make yourself comfortable and cozy up with a book. In two of the common rooms they have puzzles out on tables. Each evening guests are served meat and cheese plates with local wine, and cookies. The huge wrap around porch is filled with comfy furniture and it was our favorite spot during our stay. The inn is located downtown Napa and it is a short walk to restaurants, shops and the river. Our room was stunning, see pictures attached. The room was huge with a nice sofa and fireplace. The bathroom had everything we needed and a two person shower. Breakfasts were scrumptious and served in the breakfast room or on the porch. There is onsite parking which is a huge plus as downtown Napa can be tricky to park. The location is amazing, the inn stunning and the breakfasts plentiful and delicious. Another tip: there are a lot of stairs and no elevator as this is an old manor home from the 1800's, so if you have mobility issues and can't climb stairs, this won't work for you. Hubby and I stayed in the RUTHERFORD room, Kathy and Deepak were in the SPRING MOUNTAIN room. Outfitted with antiques, fireplaces and claw foot soaking tubs, both guestrooms made for lavishly amorous lodging. Kathy and I agreed that our beds were ultra soft and comfortable - we felt like we slept on clouds. We all woke up in the morning, feeling refreshed from sleeping like babies, then met up downstairs to enjoy our decadent morning meal al fresco in the veranda. Churchill's gourmet three-course breakfast is like a morning royal feast, starting off with a buffet of freshly baked breads and sweets, granola, yoghurts, coffee, tea, & juice, followed by the fresh fruit course, then two hot entrée choices (one sweet and one savory). None of us could decide between the omelet plate and the French Toast - Orange Zest with Brandy Cream Sauce (recipe posted on their website), so the kitchen happily served both main entrées to each of us. Needless to say, customer service was exceptional. Freshly baked cookies and refreshments are also offered every afternoon as well as a two-hour Wine and Appetizer Reception every evening. A perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway, Churchill Manor will enchant you. Quite a unique experience in downtown Napa. Love the history of the mansion, and knowing that it has been in the current innkeepers hands for over 35 years was really awesome to hear. The grounds are maintained immaculately and the service caters to your schedule better than anything I have experienced. The innkeepers were great hosts and tour guides for the city, as well as showed interest in what we were doing. Loved that! The parking lot has charging capabilities for EV's which was really nice as our rental car had that need. Overall a great experience...will visit again when back in Napa. read more

Great food, great couple that own the place, and the most epic little hotel I've been to besides the Hotel Del in San Diego. It is so specifically decorated to the late 1800s. Really amazing. My only critique would be to clean the windows and clear the spiders. The weather was so nice but we definitely weren't opening the windows with webs everywhere and spiders catering our stay. I was on a road trip with my boys back from visiting family in Oregon. I booked this place last minute because the county fair was happening. When I arrived I realized it was a cute little romantic bed & breakfast. As I walked up there were 3 different couples sitting on the porch enjoying wine. I was super impressed with the beautiful landscape of manicured roses. I walked in and was instantly Welcomed by The Owner Brian. He was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I mentioned I had my two boys with me and he quickly switched my room to accommodate us with an extra bed. After telling him we were there for the fair he looks it up and starts telling me exactly how to get there walking distance. After I get checked in Brian takes me to tour the house, meet his wife Joanna, and pours me a glass of local wine. My boys were excited to experience a bed & breakfast for the first time. The house was kept very clean, the beds very cozy and the location was walking distance to the Napa River Front. Lots of restaurants. Super cute little town. The next morning we sat on the porch and enjoyed coffee, and a yummy hot breakfast before we headed back to San Diego. We could not have had a better experience all around. The manor has beautifully maintained grounds and rooms filled with the romantic whimsy of the 19th century. We highly recommend Churchill as a wedding venue. They have 10 rooms for you and your guests, they cater, and help you plan and connect with well-established vendors; all at an affordable price, especially for the Napa valley. Joanna is lively and fun to be around. She will help coordinate and plan your wedding, even if you are a constant worrier and somewhat anal pre-planner like myself. Our guests were were blown away with Brian's food, especially the flambeed shrimp, crab cakes, and bruschetta. I want to start out by saying that Brian and Joanna are amazing and fun hosts. My wife and I travel quite a bit; however, we've never done a Bed & Breakfast. The Churchill Manor was the perfect way for us to break that trend. The home is beautiful and relaxing, although we live 35 miles away, I felt like I was away, away...If you know what I mean. Plus, the location to downtown Napa was an easy 8 -10 minute walk to the river, shops, restaurants and bars. As parents of 2 children under 10, we splurged a little bit and got the Relax and Renew Package and it was exactly what we needed. Breakfast was served daily and it was yummy and delicious. Wine and small bites were available for guests from 5:30-7:30 at the main room with a beautiful piano and ambience. we opted for the couples Swedish massage in our rooms and they masseuse did and amazing job at working out the kinks & stresses of daily life. All-in-all, it was a great experience at a beautifully restored Manor, with some really nice guests and even nicer hosts. read more

What an amazing, hidden little gem in Napa! My boyfriend and I booked a weekend away from the kids. Churchill Manor made the experience even more spectacular. Brian and Joanna are the owners and work the front. What incredible customer service. We booked a wine tasting and massage package, which was out of this world. Complimentary breakfast included with the booking. The breakfast was not a continental experience. This was a gourmet breakfast you would easily spend $100 on at a brunch place. I came here for a quick get-away. I've been wanting to experience a bed and breakfast for years (approx 3). First off, Susan was so warm and friendly. She took me by surprise when she introduced herself and already knew my name. This shows they're very attentive to/about their guests. We checked in around 3:30pm and there were fresh baked lemon cookies waiting for us. They're delicious, however I would recommend adding a bit more lemon zest into them. And the sprinkles of sugar on the top of the cookie gave it a nice crunch. I had 4.5 lemon cookies during my stay and I don't regret it. I only wish I had more. The first level gives off this homey feeling. It is a bit darker inside since the wood is dark mahogany. If you're downstairs alone, trying to sneak an extra cookie without stepping on a creaky floor board, you might just scare yourself if you watch too many spooky shows. There is a table with local menus and discount cards for wine-tasting and other fun activities. Susan, Dimitri, and Joanna are more than happy to give you some recommendations. They're all very nice. We stayed in Mount Veeder on the 2nd floor - the room was quaint. The bed was comfortable. The showers are strong and the tubs are clean and comfy. I love that they provided a shower cap, wine opener, sewing kit, and shampoo/conditioner/lotion. In the morning, we went down a bit later than the other guest and the breakfast room was full which is OK because we had breakfast in the veranda (outside). It was about 9:30am and there was a bti of an overcast which went away quickly by 11am. It was a tad bti chilly so I'd recommend bringing a light sweater. We helped ourselves with the scones and croissants while we waited for Dimitri to introduce the housemade breakfast. I'm don't have a sweet tooth at breakfast so I went with the salty which was huveos rancheros which I thought was just ok. The only downside, the hallways can get a bit noisy as the crack under the door is a tad bit wide, I can just envision all the sounds floating under the door and into the bedroom. And one last thing, I wish they provided bubble-bath liquids. Churchill was a great first impression of bed and breakfasts and I can't wait to experience it again! read more

My brother and his wife chose Churchill Manor for an intimate January wedding location in Napa Valley. It truly exceeded all of our expectations. It was our family home away from home for a few days. Run by owners, Joanna and Brian, they made sure all of the wedding details were catered to with tasty champagne and cake among another amenities my brother and his wife loved! The daily breakfast was a treat with a first course of fruit and a savory or sweet option for the entree. There is also a fridge and microwave in the kitchen for restaurant leftovers! The shared spaces are beautiful and create the perfect sitting rooms for conversation, games, and puzzles. Each room is unique with its own character that tells a story of Churchill Manor's history. It offers great location to downtown Napa. It's easy to walk to all local bars and restaurants. There is also a paved walking/running trail that parallels the river within a half mile that's perfect to avoid crossing streets for a peaceful workout. The entire staff at Churchill Manor was welcoming, accommodating, and kind-hearted. We all appreciated your care and attentiveness during our stay. Joanna took care of all the details - officiant, photographer, flowers, cake, toast, music, etc. All of the vendors she selected were exceptional. Joanna went above and beyond to make our wedding special, beautiful, and absolutely stress-free. The Manor and grounds are beautiful. We got married in October 2020 and there were so many flowers in bloom, including the roses. This was our first time staying at a B&B - and we loved it! The Manor is a short walk from downtown Napa. We enjoyed strolling the neighborhood on our way to delicious restaurants. We stayed in Atlas Peak - it was very comfortable and spacious and offered great views. We stayed at Stag's Leap to have an escape from the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I couldn't have been more surprised at the sheer Hallmark romance movie vibes of the manor! Beautiful space cheerfully decorated with Christmas decorations :) I have severe asthma yet the manor was entirely dust-free and I had no problems breathing at all. The room was spotless and I highly recommend splurging a little on the king sized room with a fireplace and a beautiful bathtub setting as seen in my photos I attached. The food was served between 8:30-10:00 am and we cleaned our plates; usually a sweet and savory option was offered like French toast and an omelette or pancakes and polenta (both delicious).Brian, our host, was personable and so kind. He showed us around and recommended us to get a massage which was held in our room and absolutely amazing. This is my favorite place I've stayed in my LIFE so far. Our experience was a bit different than most of the other reviewers, as we had our wedding and reception at Churchill Manor a few years ago. We looked into many other options for the ceremony including several of the wineries in the area. We chose Churchill not only because of the building and grounds, but also for the graciousness and flexibility of the hosts. It was a positive experience from beginning to end. The owners know weddings, holding one most every weekend in the summer. It is not a place for large events, as I believe the max is around 150 guests. They have planning down to a science, as they recommend the right amount of wine and food, flowers, know the local bakers, etc. They have such great relations with the neighbors that they ask them to keep the area quite during the ceremony. No one even drove down the street. We were married in front of the building (the area in the photo on Yelp)and the reception was held in the garden area on the side. It was June, so the rose gardens were in full bloom. The manor provides all the tables and chairs, linens, dishes, bartender, wait staff - everything you need except for the alcohol and cake. The chef (owner) is an excellent cook and will work with you to adjust the menu to your tastes. Some of the challenges are with the local zoning codes: there is no hard alcohol allowed, no bands, and the DJ must be inside (which is a little tight for 130 people), and the music must end by 10pm. With the wedding at 3, 10 wasn't really a problem. The guests staying overnight at the Inn (you rent the whole place and the distribute rooms as you wish) can naturally stay up in the living room as long as they desire. I was going to give it a four for the "challenges" but my wife told me that if I gave our wedding anything less than a five, then I will have to sleep on the couch for a month.....therefore, five stars... read more

I should probably begin this story by explaining that it was supposed to be a romantic weekend. I had planned my birthday trip down to the last detail including the champagne, flowers, and chocolate covered strawberries upon our arrival. ...Well, the romantic part didn't happen because we broke up. But the champagne and chocolate definitely did! As I had already prepaid for this trip (and really wanted to go to Napa anyways), I called my bestie and asked if she'd be interested in joining me. "Of course!" was her reply. It was a little cramped in our room because we are two girls in our twenties with more clothes, makeup, shoes and accessories than reasonable, but if you were alone or a couple, it would have been perfect. And while the maybe queen size bed was very comfy, it was a bit for small for two platonic gals. Again, not their fault. And of course there was the gorgeous clawfoot tub in our room with a fantastic view. Also, romantic, which obviously remained unused. But can we talk about the shower for a minute? Holy moly. I need one of these at my house. It was a giant walk-in with two rain shower heads and seemingly endless supply of hot water (my fear at a bed and breakfast, but not the case here)....making it possible for two people to take a shower at once without the other getting cold. Again, it would have been awesome had I been on a romantic getaway. If you buy their "Celebration Package", you get a couples massage. Also, would have been great had I been on a romantic weekend. But at least this was something we could still use. All in all, we still had a fun weekend. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I enjoyed their cheese and wine from 5:30 to 7 and liked that downtown Napa (with its awesome restaurants) was a quick drive or brisk walk away. My recommendation is just that you remember this is a bed and breakfast and ideal for couples. Not for two girls in their twenties with only wine on their mind. My only suggestion to this lovely inn is that they get some drawers. They had a stunning chest where I could hang things but no drawers and I like to have everything organized. read more

My husband and I had an amazing experience here during the Christmas weekend. Brian and Joanna were exceptional hosts. They were very attentive, friendly, pleasant and humorous. WOW! Came to Napa for the Bottle Rock music festival and stayed at Churchill Manor B & B. The staff was outstanding. The breakfast each morning was awesome and eat day they rotated something new on the menu. Coffee great too! In the evening there was wine and cheese. They always had cold water to quench your thirst. It's within walking distance to town (nice stroll after big dinner) or venues at Fair grounds. Our room was on top floor and my husband and I both got sinus infections/sick and ended up in bed for close to 2 days. The ventilation in our room seemed a bit off. read more

Probably one of the best...if not the best...stays we've had in years is the Churchill Manor in Napa. I reserved the Stags Leap room...largest suite in the place...as part of my wife's birthday celebration. In fact..not just this room, but the whole place was so great we booked a second night in the Canorous Room. We could have not asked for more comfortable rooms or service: Brian and Joanna are great hosts and made our stay perfect. From the wine and appetizers at 5:30 each evening, to a succulent breakfast each morning...this place is extraordinary! How could I do anything but have great things to say about this place? Larry and I were married at Churchill Manor almost 19 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Churchill Manor. From the very pleasant owners to the exceptionally beautiful atmosphere of each of the manor's rooms, nicely furnished with antiques. Our room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. After our ceremony in front of the fireplace, we went to dinner aboard the Wine Train with our guests. When we returned to Churchill Manor, everyone was welcoming and ready to help us settle in and enjoy our evening. Maybe its the old antique feeling that made me love this place. Sure its kinda creepy at times with the creeking wooden stairs, the unlabeled VHS tapes in the TV room or its just plain huge & quiet. Its a bit pricey to stay here, but its well worth it. They serve fresh cookies in the afternoon, wine & gourmet cheese in the early evening. The breakfast is also gourmet. On top of the complimentary breakfast, they also served fruits soaked in wine & another hot breakfast entree. I had the french toast which was very tasty. Its some special bread with apples & raisins. It almost tasted like apple pie! The innkeepers are very hospitable & helpful. All her suggestions were terrific! My husband and I recently eloped at Churchill Manor and to say it was "perfect" is such an understatement. The whole experience was just sooo beyond our expectations. It was perfection from the moment we booked our "Ultimate Elopement Package" to the moment we checked in - to the first breakfast - to the wedding - to the time we checked out. Kelly (our Churchill Manor coordinator) and the team made sure that we were catered to the whole time. The package included: a couples massage, wedding ceremony (with officiant and photographers), a bouquet, boutenneire, cake, champagne, a six hour wine tour and full lunch, but what we received was soooo much more. It felt like the entire time we were there we were being celebrated and toasted with champagne and good wishes! We stayed in the Rutherford room which had a fire place and large clawfoot tub! Upon arrival we received a welcome basket filled with goodies - Two robes, slippers, champagne, chocolate truffle all in a picnic basket that you get to keep. The room was huge - King sized bed, large seat at the end of the bed to curl up in front of the fire; and a vanity for the bride to get ready. That night we had our in-room couples massage - soooo necessary, and so perfect! For our wedding we decided to keep it very small - just the two of us - but we definitely felt like we were among family during our special day. The staff goes out of their way to ensure that the entire manor grounds were dedicated to us - meaning that we had exclusive rights to the entire place to take pictures, etc... Our two photographers (Melissa and Darla) were so awesome - we just got the pictures and they look AMAZING!! The day after the wedding we went on the 6-hour wine tour. Our wine tour drive was Smitty, who took us around in a 1947 Packard Limousine - but you have options for other cars as well if you want. WOW! This was unbelievable. Smitty took us to 3 wineries. Half way through the tour, we stopped for a picnic lunch. The amount of food was unbelievable. We couldn't finish so we took it back to Churchill were they stored it for us until we got hungry. We were so sad to leave at the end of our stay, but know that we will be returning year after year to celebrate our wedding anniversary!! read more

Another five-star experience here, making our second honeymoon a perfect one. After honeymooning here in 2008, we had to come back. Same charming character, beautiful grounds, wonderful breakfast, kind and attentive staff and relaxed/quiet atmosphere. Nothing to improve on from last time, and the bar is still set very high and met at every chance. I really cannot recommend them enough. They are at the top of any of my five-star places, and my wife and I will not stay anywhere else when we are in Napa. Simply Amazing!!!!!! Everything from the room, breakfast, manor, grounds and staff was simply - amazing. I had my wedding elopement here in August of 2007. For a very reasonable price I might ad. They helped with everything from finding a restaurant for the reception, seating, minister, cake, champagne, placement, music and keeping me happy! Our room was the largest on the property. Complete with a huge victorian bed, so comfy, soft and nice. With a vanity to do my hair before the wedding, a tub to soak out my nerves, a two person shower, a bureau, couch for lounging, large closet for all the clothes - there was nothing I was without. The manor itself is beautiful. The antiques are simply to die for!!! From a piano to play, couches, to lounge, a tv, games, tandum bikes to borrow, croquet to play - just on the manor! The house left me breathless and feeling like quite the princess for the weekend. The grounds are beautifully manicured. Roses, trees, bushes, large hedges to surround the manor and a very large veranda to sit and enjoy the warm morning breeze, the sun of the summer afternoon or the still of the evening. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect location for a small intimate wedding. The food though! First there is a cheese and wine spread in the afternoons. And such an ample amount! Lots of cheese, crackers, tomatos and so much wine! All tasty and great! Then there is breakfast - WOW! Everything was so fresh, tasted delightful and in the perfect portions. It is like being in your own little bistro for breakfast! It changes everyday and every time - simply amazing. The staff was so sweet, attentive and willing to help in any way to help our stay. I wasn't sure what to expect staying at a bed and breakfast place but I have to say that I was very surprised and pleased with the result. Anywhere you stay in Napa is going to be expensive- but the uniqueness and charm of this place really sets it apart and made it worth the price tag for each night. We stayed for 3 nights in the Tolucsa (sp?) room. It was a beautiful room on the second story (not good views sadly since we could only see the roof that they were doing construction on). There was a bathtub in the middle of the room, which was a little weird, and also a fireplace that popped on at the flick of a switch. Shower was really uncomfortable actually since it was some 1920s little box. The cool part of this place is that they do a gourmet breakfast every morning. You get your choice of two hot entrees that change daily. They also have fresh muffins or pastries or bagels and they give you fresh fruit before your entree as well. They also have wine and cheese at 5:30-7:30 every day. I must say that I took advantage of that as well. The staff were great. We ran out of contact solution and one of the staff members went and got hers out of her car to give us. That's some service. Lastly, this place is historic. Built in the 1800s. Super cool actually. It's like staying in a good friend's mansion. You get to feel like home but also not. Kind of a cool experience. read more

So this was my second bed and breakfast experience and I would have to say Churchill Manor was a nice choice. I went with Churchill Manor because of all the good reviews. Although it wasn't my first choice in my list of B&B, Churchill was not a disappointment. Bed/Building The manor was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Living and dining rooms had high ceilings and a antique feeling. Everything was neat and welcoming. The room I stayed in was the Carneros. What surprised me a bit was that the room was very modern looking compared to the rest of the house. I felt very comfortable and it didn't feel like I was in a old building at all (1889). Carneros is located right next to the dining room but it was quite. (Triple insulated so I'm told.) The website's picture does not do this place justice. I thought the room was a bit on the cold side when we first checked in, but the fireplace helped a bit. Breakfast/Food The brownies and cookies that were left out in the afternoon was yummy. I didn't enjoy the wine and cheese in the evening very much. Breakfast seemed like a four course meal. There was yogurt, granola, bagels, muffins, a fruit plate and omelet. Everything tasted great. Service The housekeeper, Susan was very nice and helpful. We sat down with her to discuss possible places to eat for lunch and she was very nice to all the guests. Although we didn't get to enjoy the grounds and outside dining because of the rain, it was a great B&B and well worth my bucks. read more

Churchill Manor is a beautiful B&B. The staff is friendly and after this past weekend they proved how committed they are to giving their guests the best experience they can provide! Napa experienced a 6.0 earthquake and a wedding was to be held here later that day. The staff along with friends and family of the bride and groom cleaned up the dust and debris and had one beautiful wedding! I stayed the night on Sunday night and was tucked safe in a comfy bed. I got up to hot coffee and a delicious breakfast. Thank you Churchill Manor for being resilient and providing a beautiful location for my friends wedding despite a natural disaster! read more

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Rutherford room on our first trip to Napa this month, and while I have always been skeptical of the very idea of fine accommodations (I come from a Motel 6 kind of family) I cannot recommend Churchill Manor highly enough. Every inch of the place is perfect and well-appointed. I found myself simply sitting in the common rooms drinking wine, eating hors d'ouevres, and chatting with my fellow guests every night. It was nice to be able to forget about the rest of the world for a weekend and live in a quiet, luxurious place where I barely even felt compelled to check facebook. They made sure to get us up each morning by providing a complimentary breakfast that went beyond my standard granola and yogurt (although it included those too) to a changing array of egg dishes and sweets. Somehow I kept managing to eat a plate of everything. The staff were also unerringly friendly. I received many recommendations about things to do and see and eat from a number of people, and even the cat of the house was a gentleman. If you have ever felt like you could use a few days in an older, more refined world - and you can afford it - this place is a must. read more
