Yes, yes... and yes! Was able to meet two amazing men with the same name that I can't remember right now that work there! Their drinks are cold! Taps are clean! Service was the best! They have an outside area for smoking, some loud ass speakers for music, a few TVs for sports and yummy food! If you live in the area and haven't or are just passing through I'd definitely recommend this place! Will be back when visiting family read more

A true dive. Kinda smelled like my uncle's basement bar. Pretty much a dive/dump that need a whole redo. It smelled kinda musty. Kinda looked like my grandpa's era VFW lodge. The service was bad. Super slow, couldn't flag down a server or get one to pay attention. If you're unfamiliar with them, they do not care. Very typical beer options and brands on tap. This is a Budweiser type of bar. I don't like Budweiser. Definitely not a craft beer or cocktail bar. The fries were good. I'll say that. They do run cheap food and drink specials. The two taco special is good and is inexpensive. Ambiance is lacking, service is lacking but it's a local hot spot. The people that like it love it. I could take it or leave it. Not really my jam. read more

It seems the reviews for Jan's are like a barbell, some love it, some hate it with very little in between. I stumbled on the place choosing Schwarz Creek as a halfway point between my crib and tax deduction number two who currently goes to State. They say you can't judge a book by it's cover but Jan's inside looks pretty much what you'd expect from the outside. It's a road house. A gin mill. A dive bar and if anyone expects more I'm sure there's an Applebee's with your name on it within driving distance. It's a compact place with a bar on one wall, a pool table on the far end of the place and tables. Ta daa a bar. The menu is standard bar fare with a few specials. Pork Po Boy for one but they were out! So fried pickles, and fried green beans and french fries oh and a burger for me and chicken sandwich for EH. A Labatts Blue washed it all down. All in a great place with good food and cold beer. One end of the "barbell." Now for the craft cocktail Karens who want a Coco-tini or obscure craft beer, the other of the barbell...shove off. I'm sure there's a hipster joint that will pretend to tolerate you if you tip well, but not this joint. So jam at Jan's with a cold bottle or can and plan to become a..... fan. Jan's....... This review comes after several visits. First big positive is the drink prices but from there it goes down hill. Sloppy Joe day is a 5 dollar loose meat sandwich that is ok but no where near an actual sloppy joe. For 5 dollars you can get a bigger sandwich or bigger at many places. The beer battered fish was initially good but the batter is so thick that the outside layer is kinda soft and gooey since it's not fried completely. Which I tried 1 last item the wings on a separate trip. I liked that they were meaty wings but once again the meal was ruined my lack of how to cook it. Just like the fish that wasn't fried completely and was like the batter outside the wings were actually cold on the inside. I ordered 8 of the wings and after getting 2 with cold middles I didn't finish the rest. They asked if I wanted a box but I declined. Since today was a chili cook off I would have been better off eating food not prepared by this kitchen. I'm sure other cooks would make sure their food is fully cooked. But still some of the best beer prices in town which is what probably keeps them going. read more

Passing thru town we stopped at the sports bar across town and was ignored for over 10 minutes. When another table asked the wait staff how much longer for their food that was our signal to leave. We passed Jan's and turned around and went inside. We were greeted immediately and had a cold beer within 2 minutes and our fish was excellent and the service was super good. Went there for a good time with friends and my hubby (who showed up a bit later) and to play pool and since we were winning every game these 2 a$$holes (drunk by this time) got in our face and the bartender and waitress did nothing. One of the 2 jerks grabbed my husbands arms and wouldn't let his arms go. Needless to say we pushed him to let go of his grip after repeatedly asking him to let go (we weren't trying to start a physical altercation) and then the bartender (young guy) told us to leave bcuz as he stated: 'they're regulars, and I don't know u'! Ridiculous establishment and will never go there again. Called the owner and spoke with him the next day, let me go to 'speak to bartender' and never bothered to call me back. Even after already knowing it was over a pool game (before I stated it) bcuz he knows these 2 obnoxious guys that start trouble on the regular at his bar! I went with my fab companion, my Mom. She has people there and when I mentioned I wanted to go there excitement hit the air. I was tempted by the $3 craft beers. Well We went checked in, and for all that effort, we were graced with a free basket of beer fries!! Delicious Indeed! Mom had her thing, and I had a Grapefruit UP A that was great! I've lived in Swartz Creek for almost 16 years and have driven past Jans a couple times a week, yet I've never stopped off to check it out. Yesterday (19May16) I wanted a burger, a big beautiful bar burger. I've had food in other adult beverage establishments in SC and have been let down by flavor and speed of service. I was greeted promptly by the bartender, she came over took my drink order, gave me a few minutes to decide what I wanted and I placed my order. When the burger came out, it was what I had ordered and tasted great. The bar itself was clean as was the bathroom, a bit in need of a makeover, but it a nice cozy place. I will be back. read more

After driving past establisment for years, my husband and I visited on Friday afternoon. I didn't know what to expect..I was pleasantly surprised at the newness and cleanleness of this warm,cozy dining area, with bright red cushioned chairs and round tables. We were immediately greeted by the very friendly wait staff. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I ordered a chef salad. I must say both dinners were delicious, and very reasonably priced. 1st, only and last time I will EVER visit. We ordered Breaded Mushrooms, 2 Tacos, and 1 beer each and my friend and I both were vomiting all night from the food. The bar is dark and dirty. The young teenage looking kid is VERY RUDE! Unprofessional & cocky. The one waitress said he performs sexual favors to the waitresses right in the kitchen. We stopped here in between a wedding and reception and we were so happy we did. The bartender was one of the friendliest bartenders we've ever met and not only that, she was running the whole place by herself; she took the orders, made the drinks, and even made the food.
