We enjoy visiting this restaurant and have always appreciated the food, which is why I wanted to share an experience from our most recent visit. While placing our order at the drive-thru, I was only about two-thirds of the way through ordering when the employee at the window walked away without saying anything. She returned about four or five minutes later with a bag of food and gave us the total. I politely told her, "Ma'am, I wasn't done with the order." She immediately apologized and said, "Oh, shoot, I'm sorry." I asked her if she was okay because she seemed overwhelmed. She smiled and said, "Yes, just hot. I'm just very hot." My heart went out to her. This experience wasn't frustrating because of the employee--it made me concerned for her. Frontline employees are the face of a business, and when they're exhausted or working in uncomfortable conditions, it affects both them and the customer experience. I hope management will make employee well-being a priority by ensuring staff have adequate breaks, hydration, and a safe, comfortable working environment, especially during extreme heat. Taking care of employees enables them to provide the excellent service customers have come to expect. We genuinely enjoy supporting this restaurant and want to continue doing so. It's been awhile since I ate at Church's, but I'm happy I stopped in a few weeks ago. Jeanette (district manager) was beyond patient as my girlfriend and I took at least 10 minutes to decide on what kinda of chicken we wanted lol! She even made a few suggestions, including the delicious peach cobbler! I think I really loved how well we were treated and how quick the food came out. We ended up ordering a family meal plus a few extras, which was ready within 15 minutes after being cooked fresh! Now their intercom system to order is down, so you do have to order at the drive thru window, HOWEVER, I got a 5pc tender combo with fries, sweet tea, a small side of gravy and apple pie. This is my absolute favorite chicken place ever. Ever since I was little, I've loved church's chicken. And since they're all gone in northern Virginia then I was excited to come here and get some. The chicken took a while because there were so many people there But when I got it, it was hot and crispy. The chicken had been marinated obviously and was very tasty. I got the fries with mine and they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would definitely come back here again. My friend and I always stop here on our way to the beach from Richmond. We are very sad that all the church's in Richmond have closed and hope that this one doesn't close as well. Waited 30 minutes at this godforsaken dump of a fast food restaurant. There's a giant pot hole in the drive thru, which was kind of nice, made me feel like I was off-roading as I crested it. The menu board looks like it was dragged behind an 18 wheeler then conveniently mounted in the back of this restaurant, scratches and all. The employees seemed to be collecting a paycheck while doing little if anything to fill the orders that were coming, with the exception of one employee, kudos to her, she went above and beyond to ensure I got my beautifully greased chicken pieces. She was genuinely nice and I hope she finds a job at a better restaurant.
