If you find yourself craving fried food and an atmosphere that says, "We care, but not too much," Hangry Joe's might just be your next stop. Nestled in the realm of fast-casual dining, this place serves up a menu that reads like a checklist of fried delights--perfect for those who believe that everything tastes better when it's deep-fried. Let's talk about the presentation. It's not that it looks bad; it's just... unremarkable. But hey, if you're here for aesthetics, you might want to consider a different kind of establishment. After all, it didn't taste bad--it didn't taste good either. It resides comfortably in the realm of mediocrity, where flavor goes to take a nap. Now, onto the wings. We ordered six, three spicy soy garlic and three lemon chicken. The overwhelming sauciness of the wings left my taste buds feeling like they had just been doused in a flavor tsunami. The sauces didn't quite hit the mark for me--too much sauce, not enough finesse. If you love a good drown-in-sauce approach, then you might just be in heaven. We tackled the "hot" chicken sandwich. It brought a respectable level of spice that was manageable for those who typically handle mild heat at other places. If you find yourself asking the age-old question--"Is this Asian hot or American hot?"--you might want to take it down a notch, just to be safe. As an Asian that can't handle a spice level that would make a jalapeño sweat, I found it just on the right side of bearable. Now, let's talk about the prices. Hangry Joe's is leaning a bit on the high side for what you get, which might leave you feeling hangry in a different sense--your wallet might not be too pleased when the check arrives. On a brighter note, the staff were friendly and attentive, which is always a plus. The place was clean, which is crucial when indulging in fried food. My friend was particularly taken with his strawberry shake, declaring it "pretty solid." So, if you're in the mood for a refreshing drink after navigating the culinary landscape of fried mediocrity, you won't be disappointed. Hangry Joe's is a solid choice if you're on a fried-food pilgrimage and don't mind a lack of culinary creativity. If you're seeking a flavor adventure, you might want to keep searching. But if your heart (and stomach) is set on fried fare with a side of friendly service, give it a whirl--just don't expect fireworks. FYI- They do offer military discounts, be sure to show your ID.

Overall 3.75 stars (rounded up). Variety of spice levels and artery clogging menu is great. PSA, I enjoy hot food but know this place packs a kick; order one level LOWER than your normal. (Ex: CFA Spicy Sand is a low on Hangry scale). $75 for 4 people was tad expensive for fast food IMO...BUT staff were friendly/helpful and food was pretty good overall; my fam's mouths were on fire from Medium. Nugs were best thing we tried. Milkshake was creamy and sweet. Can sub milkshake for combo drink for $4 up charge (must do by staff at register, not DIY kiosk). Dining area was clean and well decorated with signage and a vibrant big city chicken mural vibe. Private parking lot and gender specific restrooms onsite.

Food was yummy very filling. The lady who took our order was very nice. I also enjoyed the music they were playing.

Food was average. I asked for a fountain water and they wanted to charged me for a soda. I dnt know if I would return.

Spicy soy garlic wings waffle fries and a mega sando

Food was hot fresh and crispy. I was pleasantly surprised. The spicy soy garlic wasn't too spicy and I thoroughly enjoyed my items my friend got the mega sando and said it was delicious and crispy as well. I didn't love the slaw but honestly the special fry dipping sauce also made up for that. Pretty dang delicious and worth the try. I would visit again. Also they have the good crunchy ice

It was okay. For what you get it's expensive. Food was average. The owner was checking with diners which is a nice effect.

I came here after reading many…read morepositive reviews and then checking out their menu and I knew they were a fun and interesting place for lunch. I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. The burger was clearly freshly hand-packed, the jalapeños were freshly sliced, not pickled. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! Those steak Diablo fries were incredibly tasty, with a nice kick, but sooo much more flavor than heat! The fries themselves were great, perfectly crispy and tasty, but adding all those toppings truly made it special! Service was nice... I had a few questions and she was helpful with the answers. Lastly, they have birch beer here, which I loved! Highly recommend stopping in for a great burger and fries experience!!

Me and my buddy are on a cheesesteak kick to find the best in the area. How did this fare? VERY delicious. The steak and seasoning were SPOT on awesome. The level of cheese and steak were just perfection. I had flashbacks of eating this cheesesteak and made the mistake of going somewhere close by for another... talk about a huge letdown. Had some fries as well on top of that and yep... awesome seasoning for them as well. When it comes to Cheesesteaks - this place is a solid 4.8... why the .2 less? The only thing that could make this perfect would be the bread. if they toasted it or changed it to make it that super crusty bread, these would probably be the best without even thinking. Overall, will be back and totally a must-visit. Food Taste: 5 Overall Service: 4 Value of service to cost: 5 Facility: 4 Ambiance: Very open kind of a dive with memorabilia on the walls of philly. I had never been here so I asked another customer what to get and she said "everything is good". I ordered a 12-in cheese steak with sweet peppers, fries and a bottled drink. I was shocked that the bill was $24 (14 for the sandwich, 7 for fries & drink). I ate a few fries on the drive home and they were good. I got a watermelon crush which I had never seen before and enjoyed it. I have mixed feelings about the cheesesteak. It didn't feel like enough cheese and the bread was pretty soggy. I think I will come back to try their pizza or non-cheesesteak sandwiches/wraps but we'll see!

I ordered the meatball grinder with provolone, and it might be the best grinder I've had since moving to Virginia--hands down. The bread was absolutely top tier--toasted perfectly with the ideal mix of crunch and softness. The meatballs were flavorful, the provolone was melted just right, and everything held together beautifully. The only note I'd give is the sauce--it was a little heavy for my taste. Next time, I'll ask for light sauce, and I know it'll be perfect. My coworkers all ordered salads, and WOW--they're massive. Fresh, crisp, and definitely worth trying on my next visit. Presentation was on point, and everyone was raving about theirs. Overall, this place is definitely going on my repeat list. Quick service, generous portions, and flavors that hit.
