The okra could have been cooked another 1-2 mins. Fries were good. Boneless wings were meh flavor-wise. Everything was fresh and did take about 15 minutes to be brought out. Customer service was absolutely horrible. I tried my best to stall them because they all looked very young and possibly their first jobs, however my experience was unacceptable. I waited long for them to take my order and to receive my order because they were all glued to their phones. On top of that when I got my food everything was old. The biscuits were cold and my chicken was rough like it had been sitting there chillin for hours lol. This is one of those moments where you wake up the day after and write a review in your underwear because this place is honestly so bad. This may only be an afternoon-night shift complaint because it's the only times we are able to go at. We've come here at least once a month because it's the closest Church's to our house and we've loved it for years. The last 5-6 times in a row, without exaggeration, they've gotten something wrong in the order. The final straw was last night, when we pulled up to the drive thru, where you will hear the most illiterate automated message struggling to recite a script. "W-Would you like.. to try our 9 piece combo with.. wings." We then proceed to order a 5 piece spicy tender meal with honey. We were informed that they were out of biscuits but we chose to get the meal anyways. We get home and unwrap an atrocity that is 5 tenders that are not spicy, and no honey on the side. After a bit of complaining about how they literally never get the food right, my girlfriend decided to eat anyways. About 2-3 hours later, she gets food poisoning and vomits her guts out. I don't know where management has been through all this, but with my prior experience in the fast food industry, I can't help but feel bad for the kids that work there. I know a sneaky manager when I see one, and I am sorry to all of the workers affected by the negativity when the proper guidance is clearly lacking. Hopefully one day this place is either ran by better management, or shut down completely because in my opinion, Church's is the worst fast food place in Laveen in terms of food quality, management, and service. read more

The side dish was a piece of mushy, wet, overcooked corn and that cost me 50 cents more to boot. I am visiting from NC and was glad to see that there was a Church' nearby. Much to my disappointment I ordered the two piece spicy mixed with an ear of corn. The young lady that took our order screwed it up royally. The chicken was not spicy, she gave me coleslaw and corn. And there was an upcharge that I was not informed about. When I opened my box, the breast was as small as a drumstick. When I showed her how small the piece of chicken was, she simply shrugged. Make way for the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. Sorry Bojangles, KFC, and mom. Church's is a fast food chain, so there's very little to be said on that front. This particular location is in a food court, so it is even more lacking in a "location". That being said, the newly renovated food court is excellent and I love every bit of the design, so no harm there. The chicken here ROCKS. The underlying chicken itself is tender and surprisingly juicy - which I like a lot, as other places tend to dry it out - and the breading is absolutely perfect in every way. The breading is outstandingly crunchy and flavorful without being overwhelming or detracting from the juicy chicken. While the usual issues with fried chicken are still present with Church's (too little meat and breading on the bone, a bit pricey, etc) All in all, a great meal! read more

I keep going back to this Chuch's at 6260 S 35th Ave, Laveen, AZ, and constantly disappointed. I ordered an 8 piece mixed. I asked for 4 wings and 4 dark. The cashier said sure. I asked for a Family Size Okra instead of a large Okra. There's a sign directly below the menu that says upgrade to family size for $2 more. But, I was told since I had a coupon, I had to pay $3 instead of $2. Fine; whatever. It's just $1 more. But, maybe put an asterisk on the $2 upgrade sign then? . I get to the house and the okra is lukewarm and box is only HALF full. It dawned on me that they never cooked any fresh okra and probably only cleaned out the okra that was already sitting under the heat lamp. I drove all the way back with the okra and asked for fresh okra. This time, they cooked the okra in front of me and filled the box (which they should have done the first time!). I then get back the house and notice I didn't get 4 wings like I ordered, but got 3 and 1 breast. I complained and an employee told me that's the policy. How is that the policy when I've bought meals there on 3 other occasions over the past 2 months and they've always given me 4 wings and 4 dark pieces? Why didn't the cashier that took my order and filled the box with chicken TELL ME he wasn't going to be able to fulfill my order to my satisfaction then? . We then started eating and noticed that the chicken wasn't even moist or tender. It was overly dry. The crust on it looked amazing, but the chicken seemed overly cooked or just old. I know some would say I should have checked all of the food before I left, but there's no dining section anymore and I didn't want to stand at the counter and dig through all of my food after I just handled cash.
