Came through the drive thru and ordered 2 Two piece with biscuits and large okra and asked to add a large mashed potato at the window. When I asked to add it I was told it's not on the original order, then another man said you didn't ask for it at the speaker. They added the mashed potatoes and I paid for my order. It didn't take me long to get home, however when I went to eat my okra it was cold like it had been sitting out for a long time. Food is always good and fresh. I drive 45 minutes to get Church's and sometimes the chicken is still warm when I get home. Service is great.

Church's Chicken is the best fried chicken; Bar-none! The service at this location is better than the other locations in the Dayton area. Granted, the service is not the quickest, and not the least expensive, but I like to savor the flavor of their menu items occasionally. We have at least a 40 minute drive to get to this location, but no others compare to taste of the menu items. Not, Lee's, KFC, nor Popeye's; and I'm by no means a fried chicken connoisseur, I just know what I like! This location seemingly has prevailed despite the closures of the other locations on the West side of Dayton? I would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

I might ruin my Yelp reputation with this review, BUT... this Church's (not other Church's, but THIS Church's) serves up the best deep-fried chicken in Dayton. Yep, I've tried the chain restaurants. The ones where you lick your fingers, the ones with feathers, and the ones that are "famous." I've been to Mel-O-Dee's (great place by the way), fancy sports bars and double-digit entree eateries. No better fried chicken in Dayton, Sure, compared to The Screen Door in Portland or to Price's Chicken Coop in Charlotte, it may move down the pecking order, but if you close your eyes, don't contaminate with any sides (which are comparable with KFC), and simply bite the bird, you'l know it's worth every fatty calorie. read more

Yum! I've never had CHURCH'S CHICKEN before, but it was quite tasty! It is different than the taste of KFC, and unique in its own right. Tastes great with the sweet/spicy sauce. For the foodie: Try the biscuit. It is honey caramelized on top, crusty, and soft. Very different than KFC. :) read more

I visited this location at supper time today.I was told there was a nine minute wait and that was fine I don't mind waiting for fresh chicken.What I do mind is my chicken not only smelling like scorched oil and tasting like like it to.I know about food cost and if your following all your systems changing your oil won't make you or break you. This is a continuous problem at this location but I keep trying to give them a chance. I did not eat it I went to the Hillcrest location and it was much better. I let the manager smell it she was in disbelief and was going to replace it for me but told her I will be returning that crap in the morning. I had to leave it in my garage because the smell was so bad it took over my car. Not complaining to corp. they bait and switch...said Smokehouse was $6.99 w / 2 sides muffin and drink...they then charged me separately $2.29 for a reg coke and $2.79 for a small slaw...that was my two sides ..one free one ripped off for...then they tell me the drink is not included...what a scam...the slaw was days old...never again...the workers were cool...its the company that is the scam...BTW...they serve Ethiopian chickens here...very small and skinny read more

Come on West Dayton "Church's Chicken" we have to do better, I ordered the 12 piece mixed deal and expected to get at least 2 breast and 2 wings however I ended up with 1 breast and the rest all dark meat. It has to be bad when a customer tells me, you better check your order before you leave because they never try to ensure your order is correct. Seeing that I'm from California I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but I was wrong. Also why is your customer seating area so hot, that you can't dine in to eat. Is it that you don't care because the store is in west Dayton in the black side of town and you don't want people to dine in. Your customers pay taxes and they support your location strong because there's always people coming and going. read more

This place has the best tasting chicken and sides, hands down, of any place I have ever eaten at. With that said, the location is questionable, not the nicest neighborhood. The restaurant is not very clean and the seating and tables have seen better days. If you need to use the restroom, you are better off holding it. The restroom is unisex and is disgusting. The employees seemed to be okay, not overly nice but not nasty. They never seem to have any napkins and the food is greasy so you might want to bring your own. I will go here again for the food but I will bring my own napkins and I will hold it. read more

There's no better fried chicken than "Churches " I usually get the 3 piece white the pieces are well worth the price to me. Add a little hot sauce and the flavor is enhanced. We eat this chicken at the dixie drive-in. It is really dang hot when you get it - steam often is seen coming off your food. They are often out of something when we go there. It is in a "shady" neighborhood, but we brave it anyway. The staff is friendly. The spicy chicken is crazy spicy and we normally enjoy food covered in Frank's Hot Sauce! The biscuits are sweet and unique with honey baked on the top. Get yourself a lot of napkins because the food can be super greasy. We keep coming back. =) read more
