I came by the other day after having lunch with my parents (who live in the area). I found a spot in the parking lot and walked inside. Thankfully, I came at the right time, as they were about to close (make sure to call, as the hours listed online were different than the ones posted on the door). I ordered 3 plain churros and a large melon smoothie. I saw there were a few churros sitting out, so they just rolled them in sugar. But the smoothie was made to order. The churros tasted very good and warmed up a bit, but I could tell they were not fresh, as they were a little chewier than I prefer. The smoothie was delicious, smooth to drink but not too thin. I love this place, been coming for years, all the small businesses around them have shut down, except for here. They always come through, especially when craving churros. They make sandwiches, burritos, etc. Everything is made with love, very friendly ladies, they know how to hustle. It's great to see local eateries like Churro Station survive the pandemic. This is a no frills type of place, locals know about this hidden gem and all the delicious foods they make. Not many people know they make a lot more than just churros. These are authentic churros not like your amusement park kind, so these are actually fluffy in the inside. Churros are now my children's favorite food in the world! We've tried churros from all corners of the bay. From theme parks to mom and pops bakeries. But it wasn't until going to churro station that the kids finally found some churros they actually love to eat. We got an order of 10, and the kids were reluctant to even try them at first. It wasn't until they saw my wife's reaction that they decided to try them. 5 mins later, there was only dust of cinnamon and sugar. I myself was intrigued by the grilled chicken they were preparing, and ordered myself a lunch plate and their melon "liquado". I will be heading back for it all. The melon smoothie was a huge hit. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection, and the rice and beans were delicious. I definitely want to explore their menu outside of just the churros. Everyone was super friendly, and I noticed that two other customers that came were on a first name basis with the employees. You can tell they get a lot of repeat customers. Sometime it is not all about good food or service. Sometimes it is about humanity. Well as embarrassing it is i ordere churros and a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. And i have been here the very first time. The Churros where good fresh and the sugar / cinnamon mixture was applied just before i got them. The Smoothie was just delicious, I will have to try the savory items on the menu somewhat the next time. But then it happened, i realized i left my wallet at home (and of course not taken Apple Pay since i had my phone with me). Already had eaten one churro while i had to wait for the smoothie. When you take a bite of a churro, what do you expect? Most would expect a balance between a crispy and chewy dough, a warm soft bite, that signature cinnamony sugary taste, thats not overpowered by doughiness. Unfortunately this place is lacking in all those areas. Being named Churro Station you would expect amazing churros: warm, crispy, chewy, sugary, but unfortunately the churros dont even live up to the restaurant's name. The churros don't even seem to be kept that warm. They are placed in a heater, but it didn't seem too strong, as the churros lost every ounce of warmth in like 3 minutes. The cinnamon coating was not too proportional as some churros had more cinnamon than others. Perhaps one of the worst things is that the doughiness of the churro overpowers the cinnamon coating. There is not enough cinnamon in proportion to the dough. And service here isn't the best either. No warm welcome or thank you. If there is a pro it would probably be the cost, because or was a good deal. 11 churros for $8. Overall honestly Costco is better when it comes to churros. The Churro Station is pretty much as good as any low quality junk food can get. read more

What a simple, yet brilliant concept! A little 4-table hole-in-the wall dedicated primarily to churros, but also offering other Latino treats. After recently learning about this "churreria" on yelp, it moved to the top of my list of new places to try out. What's the first thing I try at Churro Station? The huevos rancheros special of course. It was actually pretty decent despite the uninspiring presentation on a styrofoam plate. It came with eggs (over-easy or over-hard) covered with ranchero sauce, refried black beans, crema, a nice block of queso fresco, and about five corn tortillas. The only thing I found a bit off was the coffee. The almighty churro I saved for dessert. It was, as you would expect, very good. Crispy on the outside, delicate on the inside, and covered with a healthy dusting of sugar/cinnamon. I was too full to try the churros "relleno" (filled with cajeta, chocolate, or pineapple, etc). Definitely next time... Churro Station is in a relatively "divey" section of San Rafael. I'd rather not get into the socio-economics of Marin here, but just take my word for it that the only "Real Housewives of Marin County" you'll encounter in these parts are those picking up their Benzos from a nearby auto-body shop. I'm not really a fan of churros, per se, but I like this place. I was in the neighborhood because I needed to drop some things off to Delicious Catering (which is next door). Being near noon, and a hunger building, I popped in to see what they had on offer. I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed they had sandwiches, and extremely pleased when I actually tasted my sandwich. It might be the Churro Station, but their sandwiches de jamon are definitely worth visiting for in their own right. Of course, there's also aguas frescas and Mexican coke, etc. Everything you could want in a small little eatery. Oh, and don't forget the telenovelas blaring from the TV the whole time. It's hard to find really good Guatemalan food anywhere. I have tried so many restaurants and I have finally found my place. Don't let the name fool you. Churro Station is more than meets the eye. This tiny hole in the wall, is a hidden gem next to some industrial buildings in San Rafael. The menu is small but it delivers on so many levels. My favorite dish is the Guatemalan Enchiladas. My husband and I happened upon the place when they were doing some sort of a promotion, and they were handing out little mini churros and sombreros. Even our puppy got in on some yummy churro action :) They have all kinds of different churros: custard filled, chocolate filled, fruit filled and just plain. They also serve sandwiches here, so if you aren't in the mood for some fried dough and sugar, but you are with someone who is, you will both be satisfied here! So, I had been really CRAVING a churro and decided to drive from Oakland to San Rafael to get one. Don't get me wrong, it's an okay churro, but it's nothing special.
