I arrived early and had some time to kill before going to the office. I had a gift card I've been meaning to use and decided to order an Iced Mint Mojito with a toasted Almond Croissant. The girl who help me was very kind and pleasant to speak with. The ambiance at this location has nice mood lighting when its still sort of dark outside. Areas for sitting, it felt very neighborhoody where it looked like several people would go there to meet up with friends to chat. I wonder if there could be even more seating inside if they tried to fit a few more smaller tables, or areas to sit, they probably could. read more

Eh I don't know if the cashier was having a bad day, but I asked if I can give him my code on the app so i can get my rewards points. He responded with such attitude about doing it on the screen versus simply asking for the code. He kept pushing for me to follow the screen directions to put my phone number. Karma always comes through because of course, I followed his direction and it didn't work, so he ultimately still needed my code. All those steps only to do what I asked from the beginning. His tone was rude and his attitude was unnecessary. We both wasted time. I hope your cashiers get more training on how to speak and treat customers. I came in to get some work & studying done, and I tried the new limited time drink called 'salted butterscotch' at this location. The barista made it so yummy! I was driving from the peninsula to the north bay yesterday afternoon about 4pm and stopped at this location to order coffee and use the bathroom. I asked for the bathroom code and was told the bathrooms were closed for cleaning. The tone by the cashier was very dismissive. When asking again if there was any way to use the restroom and asked when they expected to be open again she said they were probably closed for the rest of the day. We were in Philz over an hour before closing and both restrooms were locked to customers. Since this location serves food it seems like this is a health code violation. If it's not a health code violation, at the very least, it's not a customer friendly policy. It seems like one restroom should be cleaned at a time leaving one available to customers or is this just the staffs way of getting out a little more quickly at the end of the day? read more

Philz Corte Madera is hands-down my favorite coffee spot. I don't even go to espresso bars anymore because nothing compares to a cup of Philz -- smooth, flavorful, and made exactly how you want it. They treat everyone with patience and respect, usually with playful banter, and you can tell they genuinely care about both the drinks they're making and the people they're serving. There are many regulars for a reason! If you want to try something new, they'll happily help you dial in the flavors until you find your perfect match -- it's a truly customized experience you can't get anywhere else. There are definitely a few standout baristas, but honestly, it's the team dynamic that makes this store special. It feels inclusive, positive, and like a place you want to keep coming back to. Waiting a couple extra minutes for a perfectly made cup is well worth it when the service is this thoughtful. 8/19/2025 This was my first time visiting this location, and I wasn't aware they were closing soon. The male cashier immediately noticed we were a group of five and made a rude and annoying comment, urging us to order quickly. His tone and demeanor were unpleasant. When I asked about my drink, he said, "Girl, you have 5 drinks!!" in a dismissive way. It felt like we were being rushed simply because of our group size, rather than being treated as valued customers. I spoke to the person making the drinks, and she explained that he was behaving that way because it was closing time. While I understand the store is closing, this does not excuse rude behavior. I was in this part of the area due to a scheduled CPR class that I had to attend. I scouted around the area and saw that there was a Philz nearby and decided to come after my class was over. I ordered via the App and my drink was ready by the time I got there. Upon pick-up, my barista thanked me for my visit and asked before I leave if the drink was great. Mint mojito: My go to drink whenever I am at Philz. I have been to a few locations, but I got to say this place did it perfectly for me. It was sweet and creamy in all the right spots, with not one of them overpowering the other. Some other Philz I have been to either put too much or too little cream, and they got it just right. The mint leaves gave it that nice refreshing feeling and I was able to enjoy my sip all the way back home. Overall, this turned out great. Location was easy to find, had plenty of parking, though the parking lot is quite weirdly designed... but anyhoo, interior was large and had some seating. We actually ended up placing our order through the app and waiting for it to be ready, as the line to order & pay was almost 20 people long. Took about 25 minutes for our coffees to be ready, but I don't fault them for that given the huge crowd we saw when we ordered. It was a bit weird that the barista didn't acknowledge us at all when we thanked them for our coffees, but maybe they were just too busy to notice. I really enjoy their coffee, but the service is horrible. I usually don't order ahead, which is on me, but the last time I went it was a complete mess. I waited nearly 20 minutes for my coffee, only to watch another customer pick up my drink, realize it wasn't theirs, and put it back. I was standing right there and expected the barista to remake it, but after another 5 minutes I checked in and she seemed completely unaware. Yeah their coffee is delicious but their customer service sucks. No one acknowledged me at all, even with the long wait. Mobile order had been placed 10 min prior to arriving. I've never done a mobile there before so I just waited at the sign that said mobile orders. But they don't put the mobile order food at that sign, they put it at the regular handoff. We walked to the barista to make sure that they have our drinks on queue, this individual confirmed the they were. What we got was two large hot uhm water with a hint of chai, with more water flavor, I was still trying to figure out it there was supposed to be some sort of sugar or cream in our drinks because all was in there was brown looking water down drinks. I even offered to get rid of the drinks, I was told to dumped the bland tasting drinks to the bushes outside. I honestly didn't want to do that to the bushes but (I'm sorry Mother Nature for sharing that bland water down drinks) So we came back to get our drinks changed, which was a mistake. we should've honestly ask for a refund at this point. But gave it another try, this time two large hot mocha tesora, creamy, sweet. Though the place looks nice and is in a good location, this is the first time that I went to a Philz (and I've been to many) where the young guy who took my order this afternoon was one who didn't seem to like his job at all. You don't need to be superfriendly with customers, but this guy was just sullen, unsmiling, and didn't seem to care at all despite my best efforts to be cordial. I guess the reception equals the flavor of the coffee because I always get good-flavored coffee in all the Philz locations I've been to. When I arrived home and was looking forward to drinking my coffee, there was no sweetness in it whatsoever - a reflection of that guy's surliness? Our company orders coffee for employees every Wednesday. We tried ordering drinks through the app but it only allows up to 4 items per order, and 3 orders max at a time. It would be a pain to do that for around 30 items (drink and pasty) since our managers will need to keep so many receipts. So I called the shop asking if we could order over the phone so we can just have one receipt. The guy over the phone who worked on 9/27/23 was super rude. He sounded shock at the amount of items we wanted to order and was rushing and said you can't order over the phone. I told him it would be difficult to do it on the app and see what other options we have, but he rudely said you just have to keep doing it and HUNG UP on me. I get it. You get busy sometimes or it may not be your policy to take order over the phone. But please do NOT hang up on customers like that. That's super RUDE. He could have politely said no. I used to work in a restaurant before and I never hang up on a customer like that no matter how busy it gets. We were just trying to support your business and this is what we get?! For coffee and pasty, yes they are tasty. Will I come back to this location? Probably not. Not the best experience already. We will order our coffees from somewhere else. Phyllis is the best of the best when it comes to bay area nostalgia! Their coffee is good and they customize exactly to your liking. Employees are literally trained to say "take a sip and let me know if it tastes perfect" so that you don't walk away with a cup of coffee and you won't enjoy. The blandest Philz I've ever had. Maybe the workers should head across the bridge into SF and try where Philz originated from. This flavor and texture of our drinks wouldn't pass at all.
