Our server was attentive and made great recommendations for drinks. The black truffle fries and chips and guacamole appetizers were excellent as were the drink prices. We would definitely come back to try dinner here as the menu looked amazing.

I gave it three stars due to location. The up front service was polite and friendly. Lots of good people smiles and attentive. Our waitress was pleasant and gave suggestions along the way. I was expecting a fabulous 5 star food experience. I was so disappointed. The food was a great disappointment, no flavor. The plating was a mess and not appealing at all. We had a party of four and only one person was pleased with their dinner. This was the Beet Salad. Sloppy plating, only about four beet slices, covered in micro greens, freeze dried chickpeas, and vinegar. The vinegar dressing overpowered the salad and it needed salt. For $15, I was so disappointed Soba Noodles was poorly plated. Down right ugly and unappealing. The person who ordered it, said it was plain. No taste and extremely vinegary. Such a disappointment. Broiled Salmon was plated just ok. The salmon was cooked well and had good simple flavor. I enjoyed it. The side was supposed to be butternut squash and broccolini. I got four butternut squash cubes and 1 tiny broccolini. The purée on the bottom was a vinegar butternut squash- very sour and not enjoyable. It did add to the dish at all. In between the butternut squash and broccolini, there was about 13 soggy croutons that made the sides look filled in but left the palate wanting more. I so dislike soggy bread, no matter what format it comes in. The whole plate was covered in micro-greens, as to hide the plating and make it look bigger than what it is. The New York strip was cooked to perfection and the polenta was tasty. However that whole plate was $55. Plated well and had really good flavor. This party member was the only one that enjoyed his food and experience. Out of the four of us, only one left satisfied with his meal. And that was the New York strip steak. The rest of us left hungry and unsatisfied with our dinners. We were hoping that our very souls would have been touched by the food of this particular Chef . We had heard so many great things about it, only to be incredibly disappointed. I will say that this restaurant is the most expensive, fanciest , nicest, AND CLEANEST restaurant in Mineral Wells. But the food is lacking. I'm sorry.

We visited this new local sports bar on a Saturday at around 4:30 pm to avoid a dinner rush…read more We were promptly greeted and directed to sit at a bar top table immediately in the door. Because it was hot we elected to move further into the restaurant to not experience the heat of someone opening the door to come in. The person seating us let us know that she would be back to take our order if she was told she would be waiting on us or if the bartender would be taking our table. We were then immediately greeted by the bartender without having had an opportunity to look at the menus. It did take us some time to select a drink. The restaurant provides a menu of cocktail drinks with pictures and prices but very little description. The beer on tap and in bottles is not printed so you have to rely on the bartender to provide. We were told by the bartender that the restaurant is trying to get used to the Ben E Keith options available. I don't think I really wanted, needed or requested this info. I decided on a Paloma and my husband ordered a fruity white drink that my husband loved but it was pricey at $15. I did hear after I had been there awhile that margaritas were on special. I would have liked that info in the beginning when I was placing my order. A spicy margarita was my second order due to cost of $9.00. My husband ordered the Reuben with homemade chips and I order chicken strips and onion rings. My husband loved his sandwich and the home made chips. My chicken strips had little to no flavor. The gravy also had little to no flavor. While I understand a restaurant would want to leave making an item salt or pepper tasting, food does need to have some flavor. I can see they are new and I hope they make changes to the diners experience to achieve repeat visits. We will probably give it a couple of weeks before we return.

There was a 'stuffy' smell when we first enter, but then again there have been many thunderstorms recently. I had a Refs burger with the jalapeno bun, grilled jalapeños, and waffle fries. The burger was substantial and very good! The waffle fries were light and crispy. My husband had a French dip with onion rings. The beef was very tender- great fresh horseradish on the side. And the onion rings were really good as well- crunchy & finely breaded. The meal was very good overall- only disappointment is that there are no dark beers! Highly recommend a visit.

They only have one waitress, 2 girls that really do most of the work, and an owner who checks in and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. All and all, it was pretty great, with a no joke Chicken Fried steak! We saw this on the Daytripper on YouTube, and decided toDallas. A few things before you come: 1. It's 1 1/2 from the lake higlands area of dallas. 2. 2 60YO people can pay $2 and can share a small CFS. 3. IT WILL BE $24.00 for for your dinner.

Because apparently only maybe 40-50% of the steak was seasoned. Nothing special. It tastes like McCormick seasoned salt or simple salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Most of the steak wasn't seasoned and the flour was not crispy. It's like something I can muck up at home by myself. It's soggy and oily with only the very last part and edge of it being crispy (barely) and really thin and dry. If you've ever messed up trying to fry some chicken/fish at home and the batter a mushy like stuffing that's how this batter is. Is it the worst? Ummmmm... I had frozen CFS from Walmart that was worse but that was at least a bit crunchy. I know you'll still eat the CFS cuz of the BS "best CFS in Texas" YouTube and opinion pieces. Just order the small. You thank me later.
