I've attempted to dine at this Chuy's location at least six times, and unfortunately my experience has been consistently disappointing. About half of those visits were in the bar area, where the service has repeatedly been less attentive than what I would expect from a full-service restaurant. Because of those previous experiences, I specifically requested a regular booth during my most recent visit. I was told that the bar area was the only section available and that I did not have the option to sit elsewhere. When I asked why, I was informed that they did not have enough servers to open additional sections. I certainly understand that staffing challenges happen, and I appreciate the employees who are working hard. However, from a guest's perspective, it's difficult to understand why a restaurant would continue seating customers if it does not have sufficient staff available to provide a reasonable level of service. Being told that my only option was to sit in an area where I have repeatedly received poor service, or leave, was disappointing. What makes this even more frustrating is that it feels as though the situation might have been handled differently if I had arrived with a larger party. As a single customer, I felt like my dining experience was being treated as less important. My intention is not to criticize the staff personally. Everyone I interacted with was polite. Rather, this seems to be a management and staffing issue that directly affects the customer experience. If certain sections cannot be adequately staffed, it may be worth re-evaluating how guests are seated and communicated with, so customers don't feel forced into an experience they have already found unsatisfactory. I enjoy Chuy's food and would like to have a better experience in the future. Unfortunately, based on my repeated visits, this location has not consistently delivered the level of service I expect when dining out. read more

We are visiting TN from Salt Lake City and checked in at the Marriott CY across the street. We were delighted to see a colorful Tex Mex restaurant to have dinner and margaritas steps from the hotel. I truly enjoyed their large bowl of homemade chicken tortilla soup, the herbs and broth hit the spot and the flavors were delicious! My husband enjoyed their large portion enchiladas, the sauce was very tasty with a smoked flavor and I tasted the authentic Spanish Rice on his plate it too was delicious! The service is welcoming, excellent, friendly and they served us quickly, our meals served nice and hot which is much appreciated. The decor is fun decorated with Elvis Presley photos that he signed and with other music artists! read more

On a recent trip to Brentwood for work a few of my teammates and I decided to head to Chuy's (an absolute favorite of mine) for dinner. This was my first visit to this location. From the outside to the inside, Chuy's is themed very well. It's colorful, has a shaded waiting area outside, and as you approach the building you get drawn into the experience. The inside is just as vibrant as the outside. There are also multiple dining areas, and the building is much bigger inside than it looks outside. Our server was Nichole (or was it Nicole?) and she was AWESOME. The staff is constantly in motion here, and one of the cool things they do is provide your silverware in a sealed paper bag, ensuring that is has been cleaned and sanitized. Chuy's tortilla chips are amazing...no, they're fantastic...no, they're OUTSTANDING. Thin, light, and crisp, and freshly made. I've eaten chips in (and this is not an exaggeration) hundreds of Mexican restaurants. These are THE BEST, hands down. They have a (I'm guessing) sour cream based jalapeño salsa that is out of this world delicious. I ordered the steak burrito, and I was only disappointed when I was done with it. :( It was amazing, and the steak was cooked like it was in a contest. I'd have taken a picture, but it would have meant waiting to start eating it. Chuy's is also not afraid to use spice, and the steak burrito was definitely my idea of perfectly spicy. Nicole (Nichole?) was great. She visited frequently to make sure we had what we needed and to make sure things were going well. This spot is about as TexMex as you can get . They have a lot of options on the menu. From enchiladas to tacos to taquitos nachos you name it it's probably on the menu. As I was reading, they seem to be most famous for the burritos that are very large. I am an enchilada lover, so I opted for a platter that had three different enchiladas. One was cheese and onion. One was beef and one was chicken. Each of the three were served with different sauce preparations . You have the choice for sides between two rice options, Mexican rice or green chili rice. I opted for the green chili rice since I have Mexican rice all the time. The green chili rice was a little bit on the dry side . The flavor of the enchiladas were good, not great. It was a bit greasy in the tray . It was served along side refried beans that were flavored perfectly. I did order takeout as I was staying in a nearby Nashville hotel, and didn't feel like the dog and pony show of dining alone. The one thing I can say is the portions are enormous. They also on the top of the bag put a bag of chips that would've fed a family of four. They also give you some salsa options. It came hot from the delivery driver . I definitely would try this place out again if you're in the area and looking for the Tex-Mex vibe. All in with delivery from Uber eats it was $27. Surprised by the number of low ratings this Tex-Mex chain in Brentwood receives. Maybe my experience was an outlier. I am a musician who tends to spend two or three days using Brentwood to stage gigs in the area. I'm not a chain type of guy, but on the road, sometimes you have to lower your standards. With so many places in this area are crazy busy, I was looking for something close to my hotel for lunch, as I had a gig that night and it was the middle of the afternoon. I sat at the bar and the waitree waiting tables was also running the bar during this post-lunch period. I thought, "I wonder how this will go." No need to worry. As soon as she took care of one of her tables, she got me a great Bloody Mary and gave me a menu I was in the mood for nachos as I hadn't had them on the trip. The loaded nachos with chicken were hearty (I had leftovers for later), the chips were fresh and the salsa and guacamole were tasty, as was the chicken, sautéed just right. My waitress was outstanding. Though she was busy, she made sure I had what I needed including a beer to cap my meal. I'd definitely give this Chuy's or another location a go in the future! read more

Really haven't had Chuys since we left Austin... been about two years. This location was pretty close to where we were staying so it was super convenient. The chain certainly remains the same though. Even with the two year hiatus it felt like we had never left. Like a daytime soap opera we had not watched in 2 years we were still able to pick right up where we left off. The place was busy and our server was hopping but she never missed a beat. I love the queso and the salsa here... I could dine on nothing but the chips and salsa just about. My wife loves the guac... so we ordered it all. It was as remembered. We all ordered our old stand buys... tacos for my youngest, flautas for my oldest, fajitas for my wife and I got the enchiladas... they were all good but honestly a little less good then we remembered. We entered Chuy's at noon and no one was at the hostess station... we waited 10 minutes and someone finally showed up. Way understaffed and it definitely showed in the service. We were a party of 5 and 2 were given the wrong order twice. We finally just said we'll eat whatever you brought since half the party was done eating. Unfortunately our waitress could be the best server in the world, but being understaffed reflected very poorly on her and her tip. We won't be back. I frequent the other chuy's location in Franklin, so this was my first time at this location, so I know what to compare it to. The service was quick, waiter was friendly, and food came out lightning fast! The restaurant needs a refresh! Decor and seating are tired and not welcoming. It doesn't have a warm, inviting feel AT ALL. The bathrooms need a deep, deep clean, as does the restaurant. The booths are very comfy, but outdated-looking. Food was hot, tasted great, but portions were noticeably SMALLER than the other location. We always have leftovers, but the protein was much sparser. My water was also WARM water, weird. I would highly recommend the manager caring a little more about how his servers and staff 'appear'. Most of them looked unkept, unclean, and this always makes customers feel their food may not be handled with the utmost care. My wife and I ate dinner in the Brentwood Chuy's yesterday. The place was bright on the outside and the staff was welcoming inside. After we were seated, we were presented with a menu and a bowl of thin chips. For an entree, I ordered the beef & cheese Burrito. Plenty of beans, but the beans were hard to find, The Burrito was accompanied bytastless Mexican rice. My wife was served a watery Margareta. Here dinner was the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. There was much food that she had to take part of it home. She doesn't seem to be in any hurry to finish it. We each ordered a tres leches for dessert. I expected a piece of white cake, filled through and through with the three milks and topped with whipped cream. I got a "tres leches" that was white cake, all right, but with milk on the exterior of the cake only and topped with caramel sauce and strawberries. A dice dessert, whatever it was. For rating time, the overall appearance of the restaurant and the friendly, welcoming attitude of the staff get high marks. On the other hand, while some of my food was fair, the rest was awful. When we asked to get a table she acted annoyed and walked us to the table and dropped the menus and left. The waitress may have been worse.
