My favorite thing about Tony's is the drinks. Margs are delicious. However, service and food are inconsistent at best. I left yesterday because my waitress didn't check on us for 45 mins and we couldn't find her. Paid at the bar and left without ordering food. There's definitely better Mexican food in the area with better service.

I went to Tony's to try them because they are close to me. It was easy to order on-line. Two things I was unhappy about; 1) the pickup is not accurate. I went in when it said my food was ready...not. Had to wait another 10 minutes. (Was not dressed to wait ). 2nd; I asked for salsa and cheese dip- not in the bag. Ordered Steak and Chicken Fajitas- no wraps. As for both of the meals though, they were good. Chimichanga I ordered with ground beef was a tad spicy and found a bay leaf in it but the flavor was good!! Fajitas had a lot of onions in it which I really liked. The place is a little pricey especially for 1 person. The atmosphere at 3/3:30 was quiet and not very busy but did have a large party which was quiet. (so not quite sure how items were left out of my order). I will go back again but next time untying the bag to check for everything.

I was encouraged by the yelp reviews on here, and not deterred by the negative reviews either, so I decided to try it. I walk in and there's a guy playing guitar and he's sort of a one-man-band. Pretty impressive guy, its great entertainment. I was here on a Friday night. I was standing in the entrance for about 2 minutes before one guy noticed me and got a menu to seat me. The place was kinda loud but that's to be expected for a Friday night I guess. I had plenty of time to look over the menu because that same guy who seated me returned and took the order about 10 minutes after I was seated. I got water and asked a simple question, whether or not the pollo loco came with beans or not. It didn't so I opted for the standard Carne Asada. I asked for corn tortillas like I always do. The guy disappeared and I noticed the tap water was very awful tasting so I had to flag another waiter down and ask for a lemon (or lime) he was very accommodating and returned immediately with a lime. This made my water way much more tolerable. The wait time for the food was very reasonable. about 10-15 minutes. It was brought out by a different person and simply placed on the table. And like that he disappeared. My waiter no where to be seen. The food: the carne was not bad. The rice was extremely bland and the beans tasted like they came from a can. If I was able to get the attention of a waiter, I would have asked for Tapatio or Cholula Or Valentino or something to make the rice more palatable. Not one soul returned in 45 minutes or more. (since the person put my dish on the table) So I simply ate it. It usually is customary for a waiter to come check on the table after a third party delivers the food to ask if I need anything. But nope, not here. My original waiter came back after 45+ minutes and asked if I needed more water. I said no, just the check. He gave me the check (the price is VERY reasonable) and didn't return at all. I waited about 10-15 minutes than just got up and saw him in the bar area and asked if I paid at the table or up at the bar. He took the bill and I paid at the bar. Very disappointed in the service and the food. The price is right but there may be a reason for that. Granted this guy was probably over worked and understaffed, I only saw two waiters and one waiter (mine) seemed to be pulling double duty as host as well, seating people. So many Mexican options in the area, I will not return here. I loved the artist singing and playing guitar but that was the high point.

Tony's is a nicer/standard Mexican restaurant. It's in a newer plaza so the inside is nice and new! I got pollo loco (essentially chicken cheese and rice). It was good, could have used more cheese but the portion was really big! Service was good, no complaints. Only downside is I went for lunch during a weekday and was hoping to get a smaller lunch portion and they only have 1 menu. Menu is somewhat limited but have the basics. I would definitely go back but wouldn't necessarily seek it out.

The quesadilla is half the size of the plate.

This place isn't like every single Mexican restaurant. I promise you can trust me. If you frequent Mexican restaurants you'll know this is different. They have a great selection of margs but what keeps me coming here is the quesadilla. Full of FLAVOR. The chicken in it has a lot of care which improves the overall taste of the dish. I'm thankful for the fresh, made to order food. There's plenty of Mexican restaurants in the area but this one and a few others have quality with every dish. DÍOS MIO

3.5 Y'know, sometimes you just need a pineapple margarita. You do. It's a fact. Before I get into the meat of this review, can we just talk about Nashville construction and expansion? Other parts of the city may get more attention but this (what is this? Seriously, I have no idea what this part of town is called*) area is booming. Tony's looks to be in a new development. Across the street are new condos. Murfreesboro traffic is heavy at this intersection... While people fight over feet in East Nashville, there's a whole other part of town offering affordable housing. Jus' sayin'... Okay, food. Tony's is a newer restaurant and has the trappings of one. It's bright and airy but it's not too overrun with business. Yet. I think it'll come. 1.) Location. It doesn't have much competition. 2.) A growing population around it. 3.) It's new and clean. 4.) It's serving fan favorites and catering to the crowd. Tony's is more Tex-Mex than a particular Mexican region/state cuisine... and that's just fine by me. As I said above, sometimes you just need a pineapple margarita... and if you get one at Tony's, it's going to be fantastic. Cold, sweet, boozy, and addictive, I didn't want just one but I was driving and didn't have a choice. I would come back for a rounds of frozen margaritas. RoundS. As with any good Tex-Mex, the chips and salsa are on point. Seriously delicious. I think the chips may be fried in the same oil that the flour tortillas are fried in so if that's a trigger, be advised. The menu is what you would imagine a Tex-Mex menu to be: big, colorful, full of pictures, and lots of options. Since I was going to town on the chips, I thought it was a rookie move to go for a nachos plate -- even though said plate was listed on the 'Favorites' page. Wrong move. Always go with a Favorite. Always. Instead, I went for the fajitas... which wasn't my finest move. On the plus side, it's a ton of food for a great price. My order came with shrimp, chicken, chorizo, steak, and possibly another meat. Not to mention, all the green peppers and onions I could eat. It also came with an accompanying plate of rice, beans, lettuce, pico, guacamole, and sour cream. AND, tortillas (although I needed to ask for corn; flour tortillas are the default). The plates were screaming hot and made to order. Nice. The not-so-nice: the meat wasn't seasoned. The shrimp were overcooked and the chorizo was a bit dry. I get it. It's hard to grill up a bunch of different meats all together. I wouldn't have even mentioned it but combined with the lack of seasoning, it stood out. I think the seasoning issue goes back to 1. ) Tex-Mex and 2.) trying to play to the audience. I get it. But I also think there is a comfortable middle. Karen from Accounting can stand a little cumin and cilantro in her life. Tony's is off to a good start and I don't want to yuck its yum. Edge Of Lake looks to be taking off and, I think, Tony's will be a staple of the neighborhood. I know I'm down to come back with a DD and margarita money. See you then! *It's Edge Of Lake. I mean, I guess that makes sense with it being so close to Percy Priest but... was this always a thing? Did this always have a name?

I've been wanting to try Tony's. I went on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm. It was pretty empty. We were greeted and seated right away. Everyone was very attentive to our table. Please please order a mango margarita on the rocks!! You will thank me later. I tired the mango and peach margarita. Both were strong and delicious!! I was disappointed they didn't have any tamales. The food is nothing to rave home about. It was tasty and fresh. Therefore, I'll be back again.

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The guacamole and chips were the standout of the meal. The guacamole was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and served alongside warm, freshly made tortilla chips that were hard to stop eating. We also ordered the esquites, since I'm a huge fan of authentic elote preparado. The flavors were delicious and well-balanced. My only suggestion would be to serve the esquites warm, I promise it truly takes the dish to another level. As for the tacos, the presentation was beautiful. The Al Pastor tacos looked fantastic, but they leaned a little too sweet for my taste and were missing some of the bold, smoky flavors I associate with traditional Al Pastor, like guajillo chiles, oregano, and other aromatic spices. On the other hand, the chicken tacos were excellent. They were juicy, well-seasoned, and flavorful enough to shine without needing much from the toppings. To top it all off, our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the entire experience enjoyable. Overall, Bakersfield exceeded my expectations. While it may not replace the authentic taco shops of the Southwest, it's definitely a solid choice in Nashville, especially if you're craving flavorful Mexican-inspired food before a night out.

This place came recommended from a friend and it seemed exciting to go to the restaurant of a singer! It is right in the heart of the downtown bar area. We had a very large group of people on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait as they do not take reservations. They seated us upstairs all together sort of at a row of tables separate but all on a row which worked out ok. We were there to celebrate a 21st birthday. They did say Happy Birthday but nothing special beyond that was given or provided which was a little disappointing but I think everyone in Nashville is celebrating something so I get it. Service was very good. Chips with salsa and guacamole was provided upon seating for everyone. When requested more was provided. We had one person who was Gluten Free and they appeared to take care in explaining options as well as answering any questions people had. Drinks were refilled and kept flowing (alcoholic ones). And for a busy Saturday night meals came out in a good timing. Everyone enjoyed their meal although one person had bitten into something hot and did not like it and they were happy to replace the meal. The meal that I had was fantastic! The steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and extremely flavorful. Honestly I had been a bit hesitant to order steak due to being very picky over steak quality. But I was very happy with it! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and at the end of the meal the server actually was ok with splitting up the ticket even tho we were a very large group which many many establishments refuse to do so this made me very pleased! Oh they had a live band playing on the first floor which was nice. There is an elevator at the back of the restaurant which is nice for those unable or just not wanting to climb a flight of stairs . The flower wall with the Nashville name on it made such a great backdrop for photos! They had two unisex bathrooms on the first floor. I would definitely recommend and go back to this place!

I told him I wanted something sweet with tequila, and he created the perfect drink. I honestly don't know what he made, but it was so good I ordered a second one! We also discovered we're both from Chicago, which made for great conversation and made the experience feel even more welcoming. Johnny recommended the tacos, and they absolutely lived up to the hype.
