Chimichanga and rice

This was an incredible restaurant!! I definitely recommend eating here. The service was so great and I had the best chimichanga ever! I got a steak shrimp and chicken chimichanga and it changed my life. You should definitely come check it out!! Also the vibes inside were great.

Dinner special for 13-14$. Consists of taquito, tostada, taco, chile relleno, burrito, rice

In short, super well priced, large quantity, delicious, great service. I used to come to this location many years ago. Guacamaya used to be called El Ranchero. I loved El Ranchero and was quite sad when it was replaced. After coming back several years later to Guacamaya, I was quite surprised to find that it had everything that I had loved from El Ranchero and even more on top of it. Insert ratatouille flashback moment. I ordered the dinner special which consists of taquito, tostada, taco, chile relleno, burrito, rice. There are 3 meat options, chicken, beef, and chorizo. I recommend trying them all, and you can in fact for the dinner special. Each item in the order I got a different meat (ie chorizo taco, chicken burrito, beef tostada etc). My favorite meat however was the chorizo. Nashville's Mexican food scene is extremely strong. With so many good restaurants to try it can be overwhelming, but I definitely recommend trying Guacamaya out at least once.

La Gringa - so simple, so perfect, always delicious

This restaurant has changed names, but has the same great staff, menu and location. I've eaten here about 50 times over the last 6 years. I no longer live in Nashville, but when I'm in town, I definitely stop in to get a taste of my old favorites. Some great things on the menu: fajitas, La Gringa, chorizo queso. Yum!!! You will be glad you stopped in to this lovely Mexican restaurant!

Beef quesidilla, enchilada, beans and rice plate
Alex V.

On what will probably be a long quest for decent Mexican food in Nashville, I decided to try this restaurant and see what they have to offer. First, the three stars is mostly due to the great service. The waiter was super friendly, attentive and engaging. No complaints there. I ordered the beef quesidilla and cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans. The beef quesidilla wasn't bad. The tortilla tasted good and the beef was moist. I would suggest the beef needed a little bit more flavoring. The beans seemed like they were canned. The rice had an okay texture but didn't have a strong flavor. The cheese enchilada I couldn't finish, it just had an odd taste that didn't sit well with me. It seemed to me the cheese was a canned sauce cheese of some sort. It didn't work well with the enchilada as I would have preferred real cheese. I can't say I would try this place again as I usually look for one hit on what I ordered and didn't get that here. As I said, service was spot on!

Go to spot in Nashville to order a quick meal after work, especially when I'm having cravings for churros & chorizqueso.

Portions were small. Rice was served very dry and hard. Waitress took forever to refill drinks. They were not busy at 245 pm.

My wife ordered the Grilled Shrimp Platter which was incredible infusion of different cut vegetables and the sauce served was outstanding! Rice and beans were fantastic. The rice tasted like a risotto and it was so tasty. I ordered the fish taco with flour tortilla and it came with different spiced spread and sauces. It was pan fried. I absolutely loved the crunchy corn taco with shredded beef. I will definitely be back with my wife again!

We had two watermelon a mango and a mezcal margarita. They were great. The waiter recommended the watermelon as a favorite and he was absolutely right. The mezcal margarita eas mine and it was deliciously smoky. For the meals this is where i knock a star off because overall the tacos were good but I wouldn't say it was overwhelmingly great. My fiancee and dad got the birria tacos they did a pretty good job. I got the skirt steak i believe and it was ok. Tender but not too flavorful. Tasted more just like beef. I believe its marinated but i didnt really get hints of any spices. Again, I'm not saying it was terrible by any means. Just left something to be desired. We also ordered the wueso flameado and that was pretty good. Overall a good place to eat. Would recommend checking it out.

The setup inside is adorable and had a cozy, relaxed vibe from the moment we walked in. Our server, Tom, was absolutely wonderful. He even asked if we had any allergies when ordering, which we really appreciated even though we didn't have any. It honestly showed how much they care about their customers. I don't think I've ever had a restaurant ask that before! He was also super attentive and kept our waters refilled so quickly throughout the meal. One thing we really liked was the atmosphere. We loved all the fun live music spots around Nashville too, but this was a nice change of pace if you're looking for more of a chill, relaxed vibe where you can easily enjoy conversation during dinner. We both ordered the asada tacos and they were SO delicious, exactly what we needed. The rice on the side tasted incredibly fresh too, and the tomato and corn mixed into it were the perfect addition. You could tell everything was made with care. The staff was constantly cleaning tables quickly after guests left, and overall the service was just amazing from start to finish. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back next time we're in Nashville!

Asada Tacos: Honestly, pretty bland. The meat was cooked well but it lacked any real flavor. Salmon: Nothing special. Didn't feel like high-grade fish. Pork Belly Tacos (The GOAT): Absolute life-changing Pork Belly. As someone who's eaten a lot of pork belly, this was easily the best I've ever had. I'd come back just for this. The Portion: Tacos come with rice and beans so the portions are very generous. You won't leave hungry. 4/5 stars. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that incredible Pork Belly. It carried the whole meal. Highly recommend for that dish alone!

Thanks good sir! We got the Carnitas to share and Guacamole - it was the perfect amount of food for the three of us and everything was so good. I loved building my own tacos with all the fun toppings. They even brought us more shells when we still had meat & toppings leftover. And more chips when we still had guac in the pestal & mortar (which was super cute). I loved the vibe of the place - chic but not so chic I felt out of place (because no one would call me chic for good reason). I loved the glow of the pink neon - created a fun vibe.
