Consistent good food. They have the best fries. New app on the menu- fried green tomatoes and shrimp with remoulade- was very good. Deanna and Susanah were not working tonight, the guy at the bar took good care of us.

Went to 55 south fir a family reunion. We started with the chargrilled oysters, which were delicious and served with large portions of bread. We ordered the NOlA cheesesteak and the mahi Rueben. Both were great. The sangrias are probably the best we have had.

So far so good! Diskin cider to drink. Started with a bowl of gumbo. It was hearty with lotsa chicken and sausage and a shrimp. Tasty! Ordered a Caesar Salad with blackened Mahi Mahi. Patiently waiting for second course...... 55 South is located in a newer area of Brentwood near the nicer of the 2 Hampton Inns. Parking is street so a bit limited. Turf area in front used on weekends for live music I presume. The Caesar salad arrived with a significant piece of blackened Mahi Mahi. The dressing was great and the fish was blackened with the right amount of seasoning. Perfect portion and the croutons were crispy. Good place for drinks and dinner.

Our server was very attentive and was great at explaining the menu offerings and making recommendations. I made my own plate with fried chicken, Caesar salad and red beans. The boneless fried chicken was juicy and moist and my salad was cold and crispy. My husband had a smoked turkey sandwich that was full of flavor.

Ok while in Brentwood Tennessee we wanted lunch so we stopped at 55 South and it didn't disappoint. From the warm welcoming to being shown to our table Jonathan explained the history of the restaurant to Dana and I and made recommendations on their menu. Our waitress came by and we ordered Chicken Shrimp & Sausage Gumbo, then our Entrees Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya, Shrimp & Grits and for Dessert, Beignets. It reminded us when we spent a week in New Orleans everything was as good as we experienced during our stay there. If you haven't been y'all need to stop by for lunch or dinner, it's more than worth the drive. You can also come by Saturdays & Sundays for their Weekend Brunch from 10 am - 2:30 pm. Dana and Steven will be back!

Service was great w Rachael! Decent bar food, also got to watch a few games in the bar. Drinks were good- happy hour stops at 6. My shrimp/fish poboy was excellent- bread was delicious. Broccoli/ cheese- decent, but a bit overdone. I guess I thought it would be a casserole type....I didn't read it correctly. Hot chicken was ok, two were not really fans of the "oil/sauce". Fish tacos were tasty.

We were traveling and found 55 South by a hotel suggestion. You cannot beat how friendly the staff was. We were immediately sat and greeted by the nicest host (Jonathan) and server (Deanna). This is a very cute neighborhood type spot. The menu is pretty diverse and the crab fries were game changing! These fries were a hail Mary order and I'm glad I did. Each dish was perfectly assembled and thoughtful. We had the best visit to 55 South and so glad we stumbled in here for brunch. I would love to come back and try their dinner. Oh, also the prices are pretty reasonable in comparison to other places in Nashville.

The food was great! Fried catfish was amazing 8.5 out of 10. The Red Beans & Rice were good, had to add a pinch of salt but that to be expected, 8 out of 10! The Cesar salad was more of an east coast flavor but the in house made croutons saved the day. 7 out of 10 for me. The service was good but it was slow when I went! The ambiance was cool like a Chillies vibe on the inside! One thing to keep in mind, the Turkey Vultures are patrolling the sky's out side waiting for the left overs lol!!!

    Fried chicken biscuits and gravy!

Fried chicken biscuits and gravy and the huevos ranchero were fantastic. Good drinks and a Bloody Mary bar.

I went to 55 South today, and it was really good! We had the queso and nachos and I loved the chips, but I wish the queso had more brisket in it. Also, I got the fried green tomato bit for my main meal, and I really liked it, it was just really heavy on pimento cheese so I couldn't really taste the fried green tomatoes. Overall, still a really good sandwich. Our waitress was super nice and helpful!

Came here for Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. They had a good selection of apps, brunch and lunch, and drinks. My fav was the Bloody Mary bar and 2 for 1 mimosas. Food was also really tasty and good portions. They even have a little greenway outside with cornhole and picnic tables

My favorite is the " Five & Dime" and they also have a biscuit that was featured on the Food Network (Squawking Goat) They serve Signature Biscuits, Waffles, Breakfast Classics, New Lunch Bowls, Lunch Baskets and Kid options. They also have Cafe Beverages like Coffes, Mimosas, Fresh Squeezed O.J. and Lemonade. There is plenty of free parking. The staff are friendly and the food comes out quickly. They also have Seasonal Beverages and some Seasonal Food items. It's definitely a good option instead of fast food places. The shopping center they are located in offers plenty of free parking. Surface parking is nearby and a garage is right behind Maple Street. The indoor dining room is large and a patio offers more seating. We've never had an issue getting a table here. The biscuits here are good. They are much better biscuits than another business in the area with biscuit in the name. I enjoy the Retro Breakfast with the tasty hash brown. The veggie gravy has a nice flavor. Overall, the food is good for a faster, casual option. The coffee here is decent too. They offer both brewed options and a variety of sweet lattes. I'd love to see them add some lighter menu options. My husband loves to eat here and I would be more agreeable to it if it didn't doom me to all high calorie options. I appreciate that calorie counts are on the menu board to help with this. Maple Street is a good option if you're in this area looking for a casual daytime option.

This place was designed so poorly to be full or over full with a long line. It's so loud, it's hard to hear the cashier who is just trying to do their best, but the menu is complicated enough that it's hard to just order, there has to be a conversation. I was really not happy with the total lack of space to exist between competing the order and th bringing it out. There was just a mob of us taking up the aisles between the bar and cashier and tables. Tables were all full, so we just stood there being in everyone else's way. The food can be good, but I'm not looking to be in such a loud, crowded, congested space anytime soon. If you love this place despite all that, I'm super happy for you.

Choose this place! 10/10 would highly recommend again and again…read more We live in St. Louis and flew in to try some unique cuisine from the St. Louis scene. Initially, it reminded us of First Watch (a compliment) but upon further review there were items we hadn't ever considered before. Let's start with the Bacon Lover's BLT&A The perfect amount of crunch. The bacon was juicy NOT WET but the right amount of fat. Perfect amount of avocado paired with the garlic aioli. It could use a touch more lettuce but that still doesn't not take away from this beautifully crafted sandwich. Always right to bet on it. Now the pancakes. The Bourbon St. Pancakes were a hit all on their own. I pieced together three à la carte items to marry a delightful blend of FLAVOR and joy. The loaded grits explode with flavor in each bite. Their grits are smooth and creamy so if you don't like textured grits, you may actually give these a try. The green onion steals the show every time. I've never heard of sage and brown sugar sausage -- the earthy flavors were a hit! We were so pleased with our meals and we will be returning before we head back home with handmade mug in tow -- they're for sale!
