My wife and I had been to this restaurant on prior occasion although didn't realize it until we arrived. We were promptly seated for dinner and my wife asked for a ginger beer to which the server indicated he didn't think they served ginger beer. My wife indicated that it's on the menu so the server lost instant credibility by saying they didn't have it, and didn't bother to say he would go check. The server brought chips and salsa which we thought were ok. The chips were really thin and the salsa was runny to the point I got it all over the table. Despite asking the server for napkins, he didn't bring any after 10 mins of waiting. I ended up going to the kitchen and asking if I could have napkins and brought them back to the table myself. Totally ridiculous that a customer has to serve themself. Restaurant cleanliness appeared to be problematic with napkins and debris on the floor, and tables that took 30 mins to get cleaned after patrons left. My wife had fajitas and thought they were good. I had a burrito that had a very thick tortilla to the point I felt like I was eating bread. Some of the steak in the burrito was medium-rare despite not being asked for my preference of how I wanted it cooked. You would think that would be well done in this instance. The service here is great and is probably be the best thing about this restaurant. Servers were very attentive and I think even the manager came over and checked on us. The drinks (margaritas) aren't bad either although we went for the cinco de mayo promo and it was unclear what was actually the size of the drink that was promoted on their social medias. The food is subpar and not that good so I probably wouldn't come back for the food and that's what's bringing the rating of this down. The restaurant is very well decorated, I loved the vibe overall. Our waitress was nice, and came to check up on us several times. Food took a little bit of time to come out, but then again it was Mother's Day. The complimentary chips/salsa/queso held us over as we waited for our food. What a great place for Sunday lunch with a friend! Hadn't been here in years, but met a friend for lunch. Service was excellent & our waiter kept checking in with us as we were busy devouring chips and salsa rather than looking at the menu. Ordered the raspberry margarita and wow, what a delicious treat. Raspberry may be my new favorite margarita flavor. The chicken chimichanga was so filling (along with the chips and queso), so I took more than 1/2 of it home. My friend ordered the beef burrito with beans and rice, and requested not sauce because she cannot take any spice. The flour tortilla was cooked on the outside, possibly on the grill top. Without the sauce , the meat was very dry. I chose the steak fajitas. It came with refried beans and rice, along with chopped lettuce, pico, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I wish Mexican restaurants in the DMV would provide more pico and salsa for dishes such as fajitas. The flour tortillas came in a covered container, but was only slightly warm. The tortillas were homemade so different sizes and thickness. The steak came with grilled onions and a few slices jalapeño peppers.the steak was unevenly cut, but was tasty. They had a reasonable choice of beers, domestic and Mexican. We did not try their margaritas or other drinks. Interior decorated with artificial palm trees and artwork on the walls. Decent Tex-mex food in an interesting setting with great service. The interior has a cantina vibe to it, and I loved the room we were seated in with the hubcap ceiling. Our server was great, especially with the kids, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout. The food is decent- not the best Tex-mex but far from the worst. I went there to tonight with my lady friend to give it our first try, After we were seated we were given some chips and salsa. But not napkins. We ordered two waters and cocktails . The new server Ismael did NOT know what king of Vodkas they serve. So he came back several minutes later. It took twenty minutes for us to get the two cocktails and the water that we ordered, It took twenty-five minutes for us to get our drinks. We decide that at one point if the drinks did NOT show up in five minutes that we would just get up on leave. The drinks did show up in "the nick of time". We decided to drink them down and then leave and to some where else. So I sucked down my Grade Margarita on the rocks in just a few minutes time. Minutes later even though I was NOT driving. Service When I walked inside, I saw their tex-mex theme and it seemed fun and not too old. Our server was nice, refilling our drinks and chips timely. Even when the place started getting busy, her attitude and service did not change. She even gave us suggestions on what to order since many of the items looked good. Entrees I only took a video of my entree, so I could not get any clear pictures of it. We got the beef fajitas and the Elvis enchiladas. Both items tasted authentic and fresh, but I personally prefer the fajitas. The first red flag was the restaurant being half empty at dinner time on what you would think would be their busiest day of the week, Saturday. The service was extremely sluggish for a party of just 3 people considering the lack of volume, and it seemed like there were some customers who arrived after us who may have had quicker service than we did. In fact, I even witnessed a couple arrive, sit at a table, and then leave even before they were ever greeted by their server. Our server seemed like he didn't know the menu much and couldn't answer my questions properly. Drinks, even water, took almost 30 minutes (not an exaggeration). Now, on to the food, which came 15-30 minutes after the drinks and almost an hour after we sat down. I ordered the 3 taco dinner. I asked for 2 chicken tacos with pulled/braised chicken and 1 beef taco. When my meal arrived, I realized that the chicken was grilled instead of what I had asked for and so I sent it back. Then, the grilled chicken tacos were swapped out for the supposed other chicken option that I had originally asked for, which I assumed to be a braised/pulled chicken in some sort of sauce. Boy, was I wrong. The dish arrived with dry colorless, almost flavorless chicken that seemed like it was just boiled and thrown into the shell and was equally as unappetizing to look at. I was pretty sure that it was the same chicken that they put in their enchiladas, the only difference being that the enchiladas have sauce and moisture which the tacos desperately needed. Also, the tacos lacked any of the traditional accompaniments such as lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream etc. It was literally just dry meat in a hard shell, even the beef one, that's it. Even more sad, I distinctly remember the chicken tacos not being like this when I previously visited the restaurant a few years back, when the company was a public entity and not under the ownership of a conglomerate. It's disappointing to see a restaurant chain sell out and go downhill like this. On a more positive note, My margarita tasted a bit too salty but was otherwise ok. I hope this helps! read more

Decided to check out this restaurant on a Sun evening on a friend's prior recommendation....well I don't know if it was just that day or this restaurant has really gone downhill but I ordered shrimp tacos and a mojito. Neither of which was any good. Total with taxes and tip came to be $26. It's been a while since I felt like I was throwing money down the drain. Let's first start with their bottomless chips and salsa. Chips were not what my friend had before. They are thick, overly salty, and tasted like cardboard. Salsa was way too watery. But whatever, it's free. The mojito was soo watered down. Have a feeling they forgot the club soda. Definitely was not impressed to order another. When the shrimp tacos came they came cold. The breading reminded me of pre-cooked frozen ones that I can buy at the store. Not crispy and way too starchy. Why am I paying $16 for this? Vegetables in the taco were pretty bland and didn't pair well with the fried shrimp. I was eating at the bar and I guess because business was pretty slow that evening, the bartender/waitress checked on me too often for my liking. I just wanted to watch the tv and eat my dinner with a little peace and quiet. If I wanted something, can easily flag the bartender down. First time I complained about the server being too attentive. We sat in the bar side and that may be why it wasn't the same. Our server wasn't very attentive and seemed like she didn't want to be there. We didn't receive enough menus for the group after we had more people join us. We had to order our appetizer more than once for the order to be put in. The queso had hardened on the top layer and wasn't served hot. When it came time for our meals, they were okay, but nothing to write home about.
