My coworkers and I just had one of the best lunch experiences I can recall in a long time at Chuy's in Madeira. We were expecting 10 of our colleagues to join us, but we had a communication mishap and they ended up at the West Chester location. The three of us were treated like life long friends by the staff and the GM. Yonain our server and Nick the general manager did everything possible to help us enjoy our meal. This being the first time for all three of us, Nick introduced himself and let us try all of the sauces available on the menu. Following that we were greeted by the catering manager and given a packet and free queso. Our meals were very good, huge portions, and all fresh which is something Chuy's takes pride in. We finished the meal off with the Tres Leches which was the highlight of the meal. Amazing, if you like cake, vanilla ice cream, and strawberries. We visited the Chuys in Orland Park on 8/29, and loved the ambiance! We had chicken and steak fajitas and they were very good. The service was excellent. Best I've had in a long time. Larry the GM was so welcoming and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. Due to covid, it was not operating at full capacity, but it looks like a really fun place, and it was pretty packed for Saturday early afternoon. We will definitely visit again! I am rating this a 4/5 based on my family's overall opinion of Chuy's. We have been to a few of their locations and for the most part get good service. There is an occasional wait but that is understandable. My family loves their tacos so I can highly recommend those. If it was just me, I would probably rate is 3/5. Simply because I wish they had a larger selection of food on their menu. It seems that is is 90% burritos and enchiladas which I think are really the same thing. I normally end up with their chicken salad. The place is fun, they have really good food. Try the jalapeno ranch as a drip for their chips and check out daily specials menu. This was my third time at this Chuy's though I've been to the Austin original a handful of times as well. It's always been a guaranteed good time even if the food is typically just good, not amazing. This time the service was so bad that it warranted a mention. Our waiter never made eye contact or cracked a smile once; he acted as if he was annoyed by our mere presence (possible, but not ok in a service industry). When our food arrived, we had no utensils and waited a full five minutes until they were finally brought out. The second round of drinks didn't arrive until we had finished our food and were ready to head out. My plate was so bare of food, sauce, etc that I had to cobble together toppings for my grub by borrowing from my family. I'm so disappointed because I like the vibe and the family-friendly nature of this spot but don't like feeling like a nuisance when placing my order or requesting silverware. The first and last time that I went to Chuy's was in Charlotte, NC. I recall that I wasn't that impressed with it and I thought the menu was limited. However, I enjoyed my visit to the Chuy's that opened up in Madeira. It kind of makes me think of a Tex Mex First Watch - it's a chain, it screams Franchisee Must Have Lotsa Private Equity, and it's kind of mish-mash, directionless and a bit confused in the decor or image that it's trying to project. However, the food is tasty (albeit a little over-priced), and you enjoy your overall visit there. And the menu is much larger than what I remembered. I love Hispanic flavors, and enjoy a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint, an Abuelo's or a Chipotle. I'm not picky, the flavor combinations of cumin/garlic/lime/and cilantro rock my world. Chuy's is tasty with a good menu selection. I had the chicken fajita tacos, and I ordered a guacamole appetizer. The salsa and guacamole are bland and flavorless but the paper-thin, crispy fresh-fried chips are DELICIOUS. The grilled chicken meat was bone-dry, but the fresh-made flour tortillas were pillowy-soft and tender - I loved them. The dish came with a hearty portion of refried beans and rice. Overall the $10 I paid for lunch was well worth it. The service was forgettable but not terrible on a busy Friday lunch rush hour. The decor is WTH confused (grandma's bathroom tile meets backyard patio meets tropical rainforest meets fiesta-themed Las Vegas baby shower). I'd come back here again though. read more

Love this place. They start you off with warm chips, extra thin (which I love), and spicy salsa. Score. Occasionally, your server will come by with a big scoop of warm chips to refresh your basket so that you're always enjoying fresh chips. Their guac is a bit pricey but very good. However, it should be noted that it is mild and not spicy, unlike the salsa. The decor here is beautiful and colorful. It feels like a party and all the staff is very upbeat. In addition to typical mexican fare, they offer authentic Tex-Mex (this is the only place I've found in the area that offers this) and house made tortillas. I'll keep this short and simple: If you love hefty portions and Tex Mex is something you grew up on, take my review with a grain of salt... I don't believe Tex Mex food, in general, agrees with me. So we decided to split the Appetizer Sampler. It took half a century for the food to come out. Seemed like they were quite busy on a Saturday for dinner (we did wait a bit before being seated). Everything on the sampler plate was dry, lukewarm, and did not look the least bit appetizing. The nachos tasted like paper. It was a huge plate--good enough to feed two people who didn't stuff their faces on chips beforehand. We tried a bit of everything on the plate and kind of just pushed it aside. My Texas friend who grew up with Chuy's and whose birthday we were celebrating here ordered one of the fajitas. Holy smokes, it came out sizzling from the kitchen and every head turned to stare at it. Obviously this is what we all should have ordered. Good to know if I come here again for a birthday dinner. This Texan is SO excited that a Chuy's has made it to Ohio. I went to the VIP training dinner on 8/19, and received fantastic service. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving for our reservation time, and had very friendly, knowledgable wait staff. They were busy - like a typical "Friday night-busy" in a popular restaurant, but despite that, the food came in a timely manner. Chips & salsa were great, the queso was amazing, and our table loved the Creamy Jalepeno dip, as always. Chips were fresh and thin/crispy. Food arrived hot and seasoned perfectly. Nothing I have eaten at a Chuy's has been bad - and this restaurant is already living up to that reputation. Super fresh tortillas, Happy hour margarita was tasty, everything was just so good. I've been to Chuy's before, and it was always good, but it's been a few years. I met a friend there for dinner tonight. She had a beer, I asked for a Bloody Mary. Took quite awhile (10-15 minutes) to get my drink, and it was so spicy I couldn't drink it. Asked the waitress if they could make me a different one, she comes back and says all Bloody Marys are really spicy. No, they're not, I drink them at lest twice a month. I asked her to just bring me a beer, which took forever for her to understand. We both ordered nachos with guac and sour cream. Both orders came with out the sour cream and guac. We were almost done with our food when she finally brought them, but only gave us one. She looks at my friend and says "Oh, did you want some too?" Took another 10 minutes to get more. This place is clearly a gimmick, it is designed so that little kids will enjoy the decorations thus parents will be forced to go there if they want to eat Mexican and they will spend way more than they would anywhere else and eat a meal that is on a quality level of a microwave dinner. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I always find myself craving me some Chuys! First, they bring you chips like any typical Mexican restaurant - but they have a special white sauce that comes along with the salsa and is amazingggg. There's two things that I order from here that are so good that it doesn't make me stray from my two faves: Baja fish tacos YUM & the combo fajitas. Idk what it is about the tortillas that Chuy's has.. but they are definitely homemade and have such a soft/fluffy consistency that isn't like any other tortillas I've had. The service here has always been great, they get busy though so make sure you come early or call ahead! If not, I've sat at the bar to have a margarita while I wait. We went to their "training opening" as pretend customers. So this is based solely on apparently everyone working in the restaurant only having had about a week of training. First off, I think they forgot about us at seating. We were there for about 20-25 minutes (I was told a ten minute wait for party of 4 upon arriving) and when I went to check on the status, I could see my name about 3 from the top of the list... And about 30 people after me who had already been seated. Needless to say my seating buzzer went off almost immediately thereafter. Not the best first impression. The chips and salsa are delish. The guac was a tad bland. Tried the creamy jalapeño dip- it was good, but basically just a spicy ranch dressing/dip. The apparently self serve chips and salsa/queso is an interesting idea... We had a limited training menu to choose from, so we couldn't order whatever we wanted. I had the fajita beef burrito. It was HUGE. I got mostly beans my first few bites and found some beef along the way- didn't find anything else in there- covered in a salsa verde; it was alright. Spouse had the #2 combo, which is the Elvis Presley Memorial Comb. He seemed to enjoy it. Others at our table had the chika-chicka-boom-boom (polished it off and took my leftovers) and the #5 combo. Limited beer selection; nothing on draft. Portions were huge and while we didn't pay (because we were pretend customers, but naturally we tipped on the full estimated cost of the meal), the prices on the menu seemed pretty reasonable. The decor is bright and vibrant, doesn't look anything like Chi-Natti's except for booths along the back wall. Proceeds from our visit benefitted The Neediest Kids Of All. We will probably go back to give it another shot once they are up and running, and the newness has settled with both the employees and the customers. read more

However we waited 55 minutes we were told more than once in life you are the next party party after party after party Be seated we know there were seven and the other groups were smaller, however someone needs to have some idea of how long a wait would be. I heard rumors of Chuy's arriving and I was thrilled. When I lived in Austin, I frequented the original Chuy's often as it was a short drive from work. I have been three times now and have had three different dishes. The service was at least pleasant each time ranging from surprisingly fast to "I wonder if they forgot to submit our order." If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place nor does it espouse to be. It is Tex-Mex and in many ways, quintessentially so. Sauces are delicious, the chikka-chikka boom boom is delicious, the fajitas are good. The third time, we tried the Southwest Enchilada - not my favorite. This place is certainly worth a try if you want some Texas styled Mexican food. I recommend you split a dish, they are huge. Had lunch there yesterday with one of my favorite clients, Matt Heaton, owner of Zounds Hearing in Montgomery. We both had the burrito, me with refried beans and chicken, Matt with ground beef. It is served with a side of rice and is really delicious, but huge. We really could have split and been more than full. I like several things about this restaurant - first, the location is great...on the corner of Hosbrook and Montgomery with lots of parking; second - the chips are light and crispy (you will find them disappearing way too fast), third - you get a choice of sauces, from mild to spicy. I picked the spicy and it was perfect. Next time I go, I will try the guacamole, which is my litmus test for Mexican restaurants. This is a fun place, not fancy, but great quality for the price. Went to Chuy's on a Monday afternoon lunch date with the bf. There was literally nobody else there when we arrived so we were quickly seated in the tackiest dining room I've ever seen. The palm trees and decor were just not a good look to me. Our server was friendly and since it was our first time he made a few suggestions on their more popular items. He even brought out a sample of their creamy jalepeno sauce for us to try so that we could decide what we wanted. I stupidly did not order one of the servers suggested items and instead had a chalupa and enchilada. My bf ordered queso and we proceeded to destroy the basket of chips we were brought which were very good. My chalupa and enchilada were not. I ended up sending it back and opted for a beef taco which wasn't that great either. My boyfriend did like his Chicka Chicka Boom Boom though it still wasn't that great to me. Overall, I probably won't be back with there being so many other Mexican/Tex-Mex places in town but at least I can say I've tried it. read more

My thoughts visiting in the first week it was open - food- I come from Southern California, so I enjoy real Mexican food. This is the best Mexican food in Cincy that I have had. I had the chicken enchilada, which had a delicious deep pepper flavor that was adequately hot and had the complete Mexican flavor. - staff - wait staff was a bit spotty. While friendly and nice, we saw confusion, dropped plates, and strange reactions to the food... As though they were not really feeling the spicy nature of the food. - drinks - my wife loved the sugary Sangria - decore was really fun and worth a visit just to see the various themes. Best white people Mexican food. You won't see any Mexicans in here (except for me) as this is not an authentic Mexican restaurant in any way shape or form. However, it is damn good and there are a couple really sweet things about it. For Juan, they make their own tortillas and salsa from scratch. Not even the most authentic Mexican restaurants do that. Their service is also very fast, we usually never have to wait to be seated and our food is out in less than 10 minutes. I think this is my new favorite restaurant. I first went here in December and I couldn't believe how amazing everything was. I've taken everyone in my family and all my friends here. Their guacamole, salsa, and white jalepeño sauce is seriously to die for. Makes the whole entire meal that much better. I've always had great service here and they also give you frequent diner cards where if you buy an entree, you get it stamped and by the time you eat 5, you get a free one! Came here for dinner last Saturday night with my girlfriend. We arrived at 9:00 to a relatively empty restaurant & were told they were on a wait...ok?? We sat down & were greeted by what had to be the most unenthusiastic server on the planet. I mean, wow that guy was barely alive. The food came & was fine but the service was less than stellar.
