This location was near the hotel that we were staying at and we decided to stop by after a quick Yelp search. It's located in a shopping center and there's plenty of parking. We were greeted instantly upon arrival and were seated shortly after. Our server was very pleasant. I chose a Cadillac margarita for my beverage of choice and it was quite delicious. For my entree, I ordered the grilled shrimp with Mexican rice. The meal was very tasty and the portion was good. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area again. read more

Food was excellent but the service was awful. Waiter took my order and I didn't see him again for a long time. Someone else brought food to my table. I ate my meal, my salsa bowl was empty throughout meal. I waited for him to get another Margarita. I had to go looking for him. He was at the hostess counter staring at his phone. their food is like any other americanized mexican restaurant and tastes like any other americanized mexican restaurant. BUT! they have this bar in the very back of the restaurant which was a great idea! however, every time i have come here the bartender has unfortunately struggled to understand english and was extremely inattentive. it could be better on the weekends or any other nights than i've been there. it has so much potential but i was just not happy with my experience. read more

It was a spontaneous visit. Been here under different names and wayyy different parts of my life. This one is my favorite! Staff was amazing with my family. The food was super delicious. So much, my 1 and 6 year olds didn't make a peep as they were eating so so hard! My margarita was clean tasting and wasn't "churched" up so much that I needed a tumbs. Had dinner at Rancho last night with the family, which included nine of us. I called ahead to ensure they could seat us. The person on the phone said not to worry. Upon arrival, there weren't many people in the place and we were promptly seated. Our drink orders were taken and I decided to rock a beer instead of my usual margarita grande. I ordered a tall Dos Equis picturing an American 22 oz beer. A few minutes later, the water was showed up with a keg! Seriously, this beer had to be at least 40 oz, probably more! For dinner, I ordered the Pollo Chipotle and my nephew ordered Pollo Santa Fe. Both dishes ended up being delicious, but a tad spicy. I didn't need to add my usual hot sauce. I love the AmeriMex preparation of chicken. They either slice it thinly, pound it flat, or use a different animal altogether, but I love it. It's so flavorful. Everyone else ordered some type of burrito and I did taste one of them and it was very good. However, it wasn't as good as my chicken dish. Very good AmeriMex here, people. My husband and I went in for lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered drinks and received them in reasonably amount of time. We had the Ceviche and Guacamole appetizers and were extremely impressed with the flavor and portion sizes. The Ceviche was so fresh and bright in flavor! It is definitely my new favorite. They have delicious lunch specials that are very reasonably priced. The portions are large and very fresh tasting. My lunch special had a steak burrito covered with cheese sauce, and if came with beans, and rice. The chips and salsa are crispy and salsa was delicious. The best fast casual Mexican in the area. Their food is phenomenal. Honestly, we've been upwards to 10 times since we've found this place and we have never had a bad dish. Burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, salads.. all unbelievable. But the knock out on the menu has been the fiesta dip - INCREDIBLE. Have eaten here at least 30 or 40 times in the past few years. Food is always good, and service is always fast, friendly, attentive and efficient. We always leave here full, often with something to take home. There are coupons in ValPak and Reach magazines (like 6 bucks off of 30 dollar order) A lotta bang-for-the-buck here. read more

Warm & friendly greeting (stark contrast to having been ignored for 5 minutes at empty hostess stand with un busy bartenders also failing to greet or seat customers at the neighboring Applebee's). We were promptly seated and shown menus, and the customary salsa & chips were served. The salsa was very good, chunky and flavorful. My husband and I each ordered a 'choose 2' combo from the back of the menu. Our food arrived in a reasonable timeframe & we enjoyed it (though noted some areas for improvement: see photo captions).Upon seeing several dessert options on a dessert menu we decided to splurge and try the Oreo churros with ice cream scoop.... yum! I don't eat dessert often but it was worth the splurge! If you're traveling in the West Chester area (to shop IKEA or whatever) and you enjoy traditional Tex Mex style food offerings, give this place a try! ElRancho Nuevo is your run of the mill Mexican restaurant in the suburbs of America. That is not an insult. Their food is good. It is a bit pricier and the beer is as well versus others in the area that I have visited. I ordered a 32oz Dos Equis for $8.49 and burrito Ramon. The burrito was very good with the colors of the Mexican flag. It had a bit of kick to it in the red and green salsas. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. They do have a few authentic options on the menu, but mainly more Americanized food that we are all used to. I would have issue returning if it was suggested to return. read more

We really like this place, in fact it is a weekly event for us. What do we like and what makes it different? Well let me try to give you a few suggestions: - it is far more than tacos, burritos, quesadilla's. Today we had the Alambre. I had steak, my wife had chicken! How great is it, well, imagine grilled strips of steak covered with bacon, onions, bell peppers and large chunks of grilled pineapple and tomato's. If you are lucky enough to get a bit of all this mixed together it is a heavenly taste. The pineapple makes it so sweet and the other veggies give it the salty taste. WOW, my mouth burst with excitement. It was so much more than I could eat and I can unfortunately eat way too much usually! If you are a big veggie and chicken lover, go for the Pollo Loco or Rico. Both are fabulous and again cannot be eaten in one seating, (make for a fabulous late night snack or lunch tomorrow). They are loaded with grilled chicken and steamed veggies and tomato's. Go big, or go home with these plates. They have become our favorites, it's hard to go elsewhere. read more

We waited for drinks, food then 1/2 of our party had the wrong food & we asked for kids icecream they came out with the biggest ice cream they could have done that costed 8.99 each that my kids ate 3 bites of. Honestly , there was nothing special about El Rancho. It was fast Tex Mex. My husband wanted to come here so I just went with it. We know who the foodie is and who is not. Ha. The staff was nice and the establishment is pretty big so there is lots of space. We started with complementary chips and salsa. The chips and salsa tasted pretty standard to me. Nothing tasted homemade or had anything special about it. They weren't horrible but nothing special to report. We wanted cheese dip so we decided to get the Chorizo Cheese Dip. It was ok. Once again nothing special. It was super greasy. By the time you mixed the oil with the cheese it was a thick grease sauce. The taste was boring. We ordered our daughter a side of beans. She liked them as she is 9 months and doesn't really know anything better than baby food. She has been on table food for about a month still eating baby food here and there. The beans were boring and blah. I ordered the Lindo Special. It was chicken, shrimp, and steak over a bed of rice with peppers, onions, & mushrooms and topped with cheese. This was actually decent. The shrimp and chicken were cooked and seasoned well. The steak was chewy. The sautéed peppers, onions and mushrooms were a nice touch of flavor to the dish. The rice was pretty good. My husband ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes. It looked ok. I didn't taste it. He didn't complain and ate it all so who knows. I'm not sure if he was just hungry or if it was that good. Overall, El Rancho was not great and I have definitely had better. We won't be coming back. I'm almost positive there are better places than this. read more

Great service (3 different waitress checked our table), very authentic menu with a lot of signature items (never tried meal in a stone bowl in local Mexican restaurants before), huge portions, very tasty. What an absolute joke. Order 1 meal or 4 meals or 8 meals and you get 1 bag of chips. I could have placed 4 orders separately and got 4 bags of chips. Ordered 4 meals plus cheese dip and got one bag of chips. They would not give me more. Won't be back, but if you decide to order to-go for chips be sure to order separately for everyone or expect to not have enough to share. What makes even less sense is that they offer unlimited when you sit at a table. Really sorry I tipped in advance for a to-go order too. Don't make my mistakes! Really sad business practices. AND just got back to work to find they didn't give us an enchilada in the kids meal that only includes a taco and an enchilada. Complete fail! read more

This was a hard review. First off, the staff are top shelf, very good and attentive. I can't believe anyone would have an issue with service here. But for me, a Mex joint needs 3 things: Good chips and salsa - Good margaritas - And then good fajitas... and that's where this review tanks. I read the menu and it says "strips of chicken". Everything is great to this point, so I go with chicken fajitas - my fave. I even ask for the veggies to be well done (I like the 'char). When they deliver the food, I get pieces, and I mean pieces, of chicken so small I cannot make one decent fajita. I bring this to the servers attention, mention the whole "strips" thing and she admits, yea, it's not really strips. I wish I'd have taken a pic. I'm saying nothing bigger than an inch long and maybe a half inch wide. Their chicken makes McNuggets look like a Big Mac! She was great and offered to remake the fajitas but admitted I'd likely get the same thing. I ordered another menu item and it was good. But for me, fajitas rule a review for Mexican or Tex-Mex. So hopefully this review will get someone's attention. Because if they fix this chicken fajitas deal - it's a 4 star joint all day. Stopped by this restaurant on a whim as it was a busy Friday night at most places. The prices are high for what it is. I ordered the chicken nachos and asked the server what came on it. She had no idea what I was talking about and said to look at the menu. I pointed at the regular nachos and stated that I wanted chicken only (which was $10.99). My husband got one of the combination specials. The server was so confused when he stated he only wanted meat and cheese on the tacos. She began talking like he only wanted cheese on them until I corrected her. The food overall was decent. When we got the bill it was much higher than we thought it should be. When we questioned the server she stated that it was correct and that the nachos were $20. However we saw a random charge of $9. When she brought over the menu to prove to us that's what it was she told us that I had ordered grilled nachos. This was not at all what I asked for or pointed at. The server went to talk to a manager and after several minutes tried to give us a gift card for $10. We stated that we did not want it and that we wanted to speak with the manager. After several more minutes, the charge was voided and new price was charged. When the manager came over to give it to me. She again blamed me for ordering grilled chicken nachos which again, I stated I had not and my husband agreed. They also would not let us see the original receipt with the charges. It was the worst way to handle a server's mistake. Needless to say, we will not be eating there again. read more

I've been coming to El Rancho Nuevo since I moved up here and it is hands down the best Mexican food in the area, with no competition. Their service is always fast, portion sizes huge, and atmosphere is great. I've eaten at several different locations and each one has always been fantastic. Never once had a bad meal there. First a quick language lesson before I give up the goods: Pollo - chicken Soupe du jour - soup of the day What does that mean to you? It means you've got to eat their chicken soup! Although it's only on their lunch menu you can also order it for dinner. A big serving for only $7. Tasty chicken broth, shredded chicken, fresh avocado, and vegetables which aren't overcooked like broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, a little cilantro, and some tender rice. Pro tip: add some of their mild or hot salsa to go over the top with flavor. Other standout dishes include Carnitas (oh so good), Chile Verde (green means go), Chimichangas, and the Burrito California. Bon appetit! read more

Everything was ABSOLUTELY delicious, but it was SUPER SPICY. All of it. I don't know if it's just me (and the wife, who eats NO spicy ever), but my Enchiladas Positos were EN FUEGO! I was sweating, and my face was bright red. I determined that it was the green sauce on the enchiladas that had all that bite, so I scraped that off, and finished what I could. The chicken, veggies, tortillas were excellent. Rice too. I'm not holding the heat against this place though because peppers have a mind of their own. I'm just saying, it was a scorcher of a meal, so beware. Also, VERY nice people working. And the location was nice, cute. I'm a fan. I'd eat here more often if I were a local. read more

After a long drive from the Carolinas in two cars with three teens and senior citizen, all the wife and I wanted to do was eat and get to bed. Grandma and one teen went with us here, the two oldest teens went to BW3s (right near by) to watch sports and eat wings. Mexican sounded good, Margaritas better, so we took the front desk's recommendation and went here. Service was quick, and although we had to add seats as some college friends stopped by, it stayed so throughout dinner. $5 Margaritas were popular with the woman folk, $2 shells of Modela and Dos Equis choice of the guys. My wife noted that there could have been more salt on the glass, but otherwise was good. As is the norm, beers came with lime. I went with Fajitas Texanos, and the combo of chicken, steam and shrimp was pretty delicious, along with the veggies and sides that went with. My big complaint, as is so often the case, was there are never enough tortillas - you get three - and the flour tortillas could have been thicker. Spice was there, but not overwhelming. I'd go back, but I'd go earlier....we had the very real sense we were the last ones in the house, and felt bad that they were waiting on us. read more

I ordered the Fajita Burrito and while it was large it was covered in a cheese sauce that reminded me of Velveeta. They also charge you extra for sour cream. Went here after my birthday trip to Ikea. The food was good. My husband got the vegetable salsa and it was delicious! This would have been a fabulous trip if it hadn't been for the service. Our waitress took our order and then walked outside and spent the rest of our visit talking to her boyfriend. We didn't see her again until we were done eating and another waitress had gotten us refills. Despite the good food, we definitely will not be going back here. We were quickly greeted, seated, served chips and salsa and had our beverage order taken. We ordered draft beer and the mugs were frozen, and the beer cold. A++ As this was our first time there, it took us a while to decide on what we wanted to eat. They offer the normal fare, but then they have incredible twists to the norm. After deciding our meals, we ordered items we had never had before. Both meals were incredibly delicious, well prepared, and served hot. I ordered a seafood burrito with a mango jalapeno sauce which was incredible. I was glad I was far from my mother because I would have had to snack her it was that good. My wife's 3 meat nachos were also incredible. The steak, chorizo and pork played very well together and was very balanced on the palate. Truly, one of the best meals we have had in a long long time. An average establishment. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is clean. It's a very Americanized version of Mexican food. We ordered a "pick two" with a chicken enchilada and a chile relleno. The chile relleno tasted a bit off and required a bit more knife work than I'd like. The "pick two" came with rice and beans. The "create your own combo" menu was a bit frustrating in that almost everything had an up-charge--more for cheese sauce, more for pork, more for lettuce/tomato/sour cream. Everything on the "create your own combo" menu comes in the same red sauce which limits any dynamic flavor. We also ordered the Burrito Sabanero, which is very large and one of their tastier options. We've ordered their Chori Cheese Dip in the past which is pretty good. read more

The service here was pretty good, but the food wasn't all that exciting. Sunday at noon on a beautiful day, the place should have been packed, and it really wasn't all that busy either. I really don't have a reason to come back. There wasn't any one thing that was lousy, but there wasn't anything that was very good either. It was just so-so. It is really, really hard to mess up Mexican food. But this place was a joke. First, our chips were cold and stale. When we asked for tortillas as a replacement we were told those would be an up charge, but our waiter would be glad to bring some fresher chips. The replacement chips were warm and stale. Sigh. I ordered the three street tacos making explicitly clear I wanted them without cilantro. When they came they were full of cilantro. I am not talking about small ground up pieces. I pulled out large leaves with stems still on them. On one of our kids meals chicken tenders were burned/overdone. My wife's fajita quesadilla beef was charred. When she complained, the waiter reluctantly agreed to remove it from our check after arguing with her for a couple of minutes. Overall service = poor. Food quality = D- Beware! PS ... we recently moved to this area. I really feel sorry for the people who are writing this so highly as an authentic Mexican restaurant. I rarely review places I eat, but this restaurant deserves it. It didn't seem like much from the outside, but inside the environment is great. Well decorated and the music volume is reasonable. Very clean restrooms and courteous wait staff. When it comes to the food, I generally judge a Mexican restaurant by its Chimichangas. This place has, hands down, the best chimichangas I have eaten in Ohio. My wife's food was excellent as well. Highly recommended. read more
