Me enjoying my house margarita
Eddie S.

It was a spontaneous visit. Been here under different names and wayyy different parts of my life. This one is my favorite! Staff was amazing with my family. The food was super delicious. So much, my 1 and 6 year olds didn't make a peep as they were eating so so hard! My margarita was clean tasting and wasn't "churched" up so much that I needed a tumbs. Great experience and with 4 competitors with in a mile, this is my go to! Cheers!

Had dinner at Rancho last night with the family, which included nine of us. I called ahead to ensure they could seat us. The person on the phone said not to worry. Upon arrival, there weren't many people in the place and we were promptly seated. Our drink orders were taken and I decided to rock a beer instead of my usual margarita grande. I ordered a tall Dos Equis picturing an American 22 oz beer. A few minutes later, the water was showed up with a keg! Seriously, this beer had to be at least 40 oz, probably more! For dinner, I ordered the Pollo Chipotle and my nephew ordered Pollo Santa Fe. Both dishes ended up being delicious, but a tad spicy. I didn't need to add my usual hot sauce. I love the AmeriMex preparation of chicken. They either slice it thinly, pound it flat, or use a different animal altogether, but I love it. It's so flavorful. Everyone else ordered some type of burrito and I did taste one of them and it was very good. However, it wasn't as good as my chicken dish. Very good AmeriMex here, people. Great service too!

**** Review 57 **** Had a lunch meeting here, and the place was very well decorated. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was great. They have delicious lunch specials that are very reasonably priced. The portions are large and very fresh tasting. My lunch special had a steak burrito covered with cheese sauce, and if came with beans, and rice. The chips and salsa are crispy and salsa was delicious. I'll have to come back to try the rest of the menu, maybe even some drinks.

The best fast casual Mexican in the area. Their food is phenomenal. Honestly, we've been upwards to 10 times since we've found this place and we have never had a bad dish. Burritos, quesadillas, fajitas, salads.. all unbelievable. But the knock out on the menu has been the fiesta dip - INCREDIBLE. Please know this is a stand alone, entirely different menu than the other rancho Nuevo's and the quality of their food shows it!!

Chips & Salsa

Honestly , there was nothing special about El Rancho. It was fast Tex Mex. My husband wanted to come here so I just went with it. We know who the foodie is and who is not. Ha. The staff was nice and the establishment is pretty big so there is lots of space. We started with complementary chips and salsa. The chips and salsa tasted pretty standard to me. Nothing tasted homemade or had anything special about it. They weren't horrible but nothing special to report. We wanted cheese dip so we decided to get the Chorizo Cheese Dip. It was ok. Once again nothing special. It was super greasy. By the time you mixed the oil with the cheese it was a thick grease sauce. The taste was boring. We ordered our daughter a side of beans. She liked them as she is 9 months and doesn't really know anything better than baby food. She has been on table food for about a month still eating baby food here and there. The beans were boring and blah. I ordered the Lindo Special. It was chicken, shrimp, and steak over a bed of rice with peppers, onions, & mushrooms and topped with cheese. This was actually decent. The shrimp and chicken were cooked and seasoned well. The steak was chewy. The sautéed peppers, onions and mushrooms were a nice touch of flavor to the dish. The rice was pretty good. My husband ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes. It looked ok. I didn't taste it. He didn't complain and ate it all so who knows. I'm not sure if he was just hungry or if it was that good. Overall, El Rancho was not great and I have definitely had better. We won't be coming back. I'm almost positive there are better places than this.

We chose to eat on the patio area. Again it was clean and updated. The service was really good. Both servers were incredibly friendly and really seemed like they enjoyed working at Sonder. For food we did nachos. They were really good. We also split the large wing platter. The wings are breaded and were delicious. The server recommended "hot honey.". They did not disappoint, but if you are looking for spicy, they were not.

Where to start…read more... I'll start with the chicken wrap. The blackened chicken southwest wrap. It was great. I enjoyed it. This great wrap that I enjoyed was the least memorable part of my first meal at my new favorite place to eat and drink. Funny because it was the main course. Apparently, they brew everything they have on tap. Their shining star is an IPA called You Betcha! I don't like IPAs, but I love You Betcha! They have a grape variation of You Betcha which is flat-out delicious. Every time they'd stop by and ask if I want another drink, they got a progressively more sloppy, Fargo-accent laden "You Betcha!" Let's talk about their beer cheese for a second. I had it with some tortilla chips, but then ordered some pretzels with beer cheese. To be clear, they also sent out mustard with the pretzels and cheese. This beer cheese is now my favorite food and beverage. I think they should serve their beer cheese in a mug... with a pretzel straw.... it would be great for the ol' cholesterol. The staff ranges from plain friendly to snarky-yet-hilarious. The customers... were friendly. Like, the whole place was cool, and attracted cool people. It made for a fun evening. Highly recommend!

Our host was able to make reservations for seating areas for large numbers of people, so once we had two areas of a dozen or more, and a couple other times we had one area of that size. This flexibility was a big plus because we could only guess at how many would make it each time. We had ice-cold beers of every description, including IPAs, hazys, and other local crafts. I can't name them all, and some drafts aren on the printed menu, bu5 8 kniw we had Psychopathy, a flavorful IPA, and Seeing Colors Tropical IPA, with a sweeter / hazy profile. Dont miss their cocktails! We loved the S'More Espresso Martini: vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee tiqueur, and espresso :-) So much yum! And we ordered various pizzas. Our favorite was the Scenic Supreme (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, black olives) and the Vista Veggie (about the same without the meats). I also saw friends devouring Caprese Canyon (olive oil, minced garlic, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, roma tomatoes, balsamic drizzle). And of course regular pepperoni. Tasty crust, tasty red sauce, (you could get white sauce), generous toppings. We got the large sizes, which were enough for at least four people per pie. Sandwich-wise, the most popular was the Cuban Reuben: marble rye, corned beef, ham, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dill pickle, and Russian dressing. It's the added ham and pickles that move it toward a Cuban sandwich. Well-stacked, hot, and flavorful. For local flavor, the Goetta sandwich: that flavorful Cincinnati oat-pork hash, with candied bacon, american cheese, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, and ranch. Here and there we shared Buffalo fried-Cauliflower with celery and ranch on the side. This was. Not as spicy as it could be. But if you're going to eat cauliflower, this is tasty approach. We like the tangy Fried Pickle Spears better, served with lightly-spicy chipotle ranch. And we added some fresh crunchy Caesar salads, too, and and amazing pecan, apple, blue cheese, cranberry salad! So many candied pecans! Somehow, the servers kept up with an erratic flow of orders from different groups, keeping track on portable devices, so it was easy for each group to settle their own bill as-needed. It may not sound like much, but it was impressively smooth and error-free. And the staff remained helpful, and cheerful throughout. They built a large playgroup area with slides and climbers and more. Inside there's a large play camper that we spent a lot of time in, too! This is a great place for fresh-air dining, for large groups, and especially for kids. We lived the food and drink. Lots of wonderful leftovers, especially those huge pizzas!

I really liked the decor!

You can either walk through the gun center or enter at the rear / side of the building. Either way it is a bit of a walk so could be a concern for anyone with mobility issues. I was surprised that there were not any disabled parking spots close to the side entrance. It's a large lounge, upscale and beautifully decorated though does not have an intimate feel. Majority of seating is tables vs. bar. The cocktail menu is unique and fun, with the different drinks named after famous and infamous gunslingers. I had a Baby Face Nelson which was attractive and delicious. At first I though it was a little weak but towards the end it hit with a bang (see what I did there). I also took advantage of the ladies night menu and got a $5 cucumber mint G&T. The cocktail pricing is what you'd expect, ranging from $12 to $16. The wine list is not extensive and I would not describe this as a wine bar. But, I would come here seeking a fancy cocktail anyway. No food served, but door dash menus are available and there is also a limited menu for direct delivery from the Indian restaurant across the road. The outdoor patio looks nice. We were there on the earlier side, around 5 PM on a weekday. Service was pretty attentive with only one waitress handling the tables. I think if they found a way to serve some simple appetizers and put in a railing along the walkway from the parking lot to the door (thinking of my husband here) I'd give it five stars. They have a weird rule in that they insist on scanning your ID, regardless of age, up until 7 PM any day - this is so that no one who orders a drink can go next door and shoot (where they also scan IDs). The shooting range closes at 7 PM. So shoot first, drink later.

Our server hustled and our drinks and food were provided quickly and accurately. The appetizers were the best food of the night, especially the pulled pork nachos and pub pretzels. Other shared bites ordered were the hummus platter and buffalo chicken dip with chips. I enjoyed my breakfast burger with the fried egg and fries. My coworker that ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich gave it a thumbs up. Most other items, including the pizzas and salads, got poor reviews. My friend noted the shaved brussels salad was one of the worst items he'd eaten. Plenty of beers on tap. The environment at Voodoo was awful, which became a laughing matter. We sat at a high top table made of pallets and the steel chairs were incredibly uncomfortable for some of our team to sit in. Several of us were sliding forward out of the seat and by the end of the night we were in pain having wrapped our feet around the legs to stay out. By the end of the night most of us were standing up at the table. Trivia was the nightly event. The music was loud and person leading trivia was fairly hard to understand over it. Our host that picked Voodoo thought it may be a fun activity for us but we gave up on participating. Lots of seating inside and fine for groups. Private parking lot. If you stop in, ask for a short table (also with bad chairs) and only order apps and beer.
