I ate here for a birthday dinner tonight. I showed up and had the valet take my car, which is complimentary and nice. The parking situation is a mess on Broadway. It's worth tipping the valet dude and not stalking the streets for parking for 15 minutes. This place is HUGE. I can not even comprehend how they fit so much junk into one tiny lot. It's all ADD up in this place. Tacky is a word that might come to mind. But it's probably a necessary staple to the Broadway restaurant circuit to be honest. Everything i mid town is local restaurants, not chains reaaalllly. Sometimes tourists need a centrally located spot to munch that they feel familiar with. I get it. I really wish they put something else here though, because it's too close to my work and too cheap not to eat there. Which means I'm about to get fat. It's really cheap. Like really cheap. Their chips and dips are free and amazing...and honestly it's my favorite thing this place offers. I ate at the one in Coolsprings twice and I still feel the same. I got tacos the first two times and the chicken quesadilla tonight. The quesadilla is way better than the tacos...and pretty big portion size. The service here is something to build upon. But, but...they are newly opened and trained. It took us 20 minutes to get cocktails, another 20 minutes to order food....30 minutes to get our checks. And I had to remind the waitress 3 times to get my to go box for the large portion of leftover I had. SO yea, the service hopefully will get better as these kids get more aware of the fast pace of a huge chain mexican restaurant. The food in general is not bad, just so so...but it's cheap and the drinks are cheap, too. Having a feeling this will be a haven for the Vandy kids in NO TIME. read more

I would have to say that I've become a regular at Chuy's but I figured that with all the amazing food I've had here, Chuy's deserved a little review. Let's start with the chips. They are amazing! They defy physics by being soooo thin and yet still strong enough to scoop up salsas, rice, or beans without breaking. The salsas are great too. Always ask for Creamy Jalapeno though as your server may not always bring it. I also suggest that you try their Hatch Green Chili salsa as well. It is served hot/warm which is an interesting change from their other salsas which are served cold. Moving on to the entrees, there are tons to choose from here and you can't go wrong. I personally love the Chicken Fajitas. My husband and I usually share fajitas for one and just get two plates. It's tons of food. I also love their lite plates and their tortilla soup. The decor of Chuy's is great. While it varies a little from one location to the next, it is a welcoming and fun atmosphere. I love the t-shirts that everyone wears and they are usually relevant to current pop culture trends which makes my husband laugh. This location is the only one I've tried, so please don't apply this review to a different place. I've tried Chuy's twice now - both times for dinner dates. Each time, the valet was really fast with parking & retrieving the car which is so awesome, especially if you're wearing heels like I always am. Inside the restaurant, decór is fun and it's nice & clean. The service was fast, but not friendly. Don't get me wrong, no one was rude or anything, but no one was nice either. The food was a bit like the service: not bad, but not that great. Our orders were correct & came out hot and fast so that's good, but the husband and I both found that without a ton of extra salt, lime, and hot sauce, the flavor was seriously lacking. As advertised, it's Tex-Mex (they don't over-promise), so if you're looking for an authentic food fiesta, look somewhere else. If you'll settle for the bland, boring version of Mexican, then you'll probably like Chuy's. I'd recommend this place for a group of friends who aren't picky, but only if you're not counting on the meal as the highlight of the evening. I wouldn't recommend it for a date night or any other "special" occasion. read more

Had to stop at Chuy's after passing the restaurant on the way to visit family in another state. The three giant frogs on the roof told me that this was a place I wanted to check out. The inside reminds me of a combination of a tropical island and a tex mex version of cracker barrel décor with all of the old pictures. The food was great. There menu very clearly marked the vegetarian options. They probably have my number 2 favorite salsa of any restaurant. We had the nachos as an appetizer and were too full to start our entrees so we took them to go. I heated up the veggie enchiladas at home and they were still good. My only complaint would be that the family that was seated after us order was taken first, but besides that it was a wonderful experience. The waiter was really nice and kept my sweet tea full. Chuy's is a fun place to grab Tex Mex with a lively atmosphere and big portions. The food came out hot and tasted fresh, and the flavors were solid across the board. The chips and creamy jalapeño dip were a standout and easy to keep going back for. Service was friendly and the place had a good energy to it. It is a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. The reason for four stars instead of five is that it can get pretty busy and a bit loud, and the wait time was longer than expected. Had a Great visit to Chuy's today! Ordered the Fajita's, chicken and steak, and it was really, really good! The whole experience was enhanced by the INCREDIBLE service given to us by our waiter, Cody! Not only did he recommend what food we might like, but he was courteous, responsive (refilling our beverages on time) and very enjoyable to talk with! This experience was one of the best I've had at this restaurant chain and I will be frequenting it again because of the good food and the INCREDIBLE service given to us by Cody! I am from out of town so I can say this is a local treasure. The food was fabulous and I overdid it of course. Try the Elvis Presley plate. The service was great-kind and attentive. My daughter didn't love the kids food but she inhaled the chips and the waitress was super patient with her. Definitely worth the $$ and the valet parking is a godsend.
