I called her and left a voicemail, and she called back and left a voicemail a day later. I called her back a couple days after that and left another voicemail... and didn't hear back for 2 weeks. I had to try 3 more times to finally get a hole of her. Normally by that point I would have given up but I paid for the gift certificate and didn't want to lose it. When I made it to the salon for my finally-schedueled appointment, it was very nice. I wasn't greeted super promptly but within a couple minutes, and I was offeredf a glass of water, wine, or beer. i took the wine (of course). My stylist was running about 10 minutes late but no one bothered to tell me. What saved this review is the awesome job that Rachel did on my hair. It really looks beautiful. Perfectly placed highlights and nice long layers with lots of movement and bounce. The styling lasted all day as well. Each stylist sets their own prices as well, so I don't know what's normal there as far as prices, hours, and services offers. My total was $130 for the highlights and cut, then the $50 off. For the qualiy of the work I think it was a fair price. I may or may not go back depending on how hard it is to get a hold of her again!

It normally takes me so long to find a salon to stick with because I'm so picky but I'm so lucky to have found the Alternative Hair Studio. It was a 3 hour process but it felt so fast because they were so kind and offered refreshments. I recommend this place because it's clean, friendly, professional, and my hair felt healthier after the visit.

Although she was very quiet, she was very focused and allowed me to have a relaxing experience. The receptionist was also very friendly. I was offered some infused water when I checked in and only waited for about 2 minutes. I just wanted a haircut so I started off by showing Paige two different pictures on my phone of something I was considering. I could tell she combined the two photos in her head before cutting my hair, and she only saw the photos for a couple seconds! Every haircut includes a wash, hot towel around your neck, scalp massage, hand/arm massage, and a neck and shoulder massage. You can opt out of anything, but I enjoyed the relaxation of it all. Also, the pricing is very competitive with other salons in the area, if not cheaper. After cutting, drying, and layering my hair she offered to straighten or curl my hair. She never seemed in a rush and made me feel great. I just wish she would have told me which products she was using in my hair, during the hand massage, and for the neck massage. She even sprayed something in my hair before drying it so now I'm curious what all she used and what they did. But I guess I could have asked. Overall, I have never loved a haircut so much the first day. I had a great experience at Pure Concepts and will be coming back next time.

I paid $430 for a balayage, and I was told it would turn out slightly darker -- but no one mentioned it would turn orange. As you can clearly see, my hair is very brassy/orange, not blended, and the highlights start too close to the roots. This is not balayage at all and looks nothing like the reference I provided. I also reached out to the salon owner/manager to explain the issue, but she was not helpful at all and did not offer any real solution to fix it. For the amount I paid, this is completely unacceptable -- both the result and the customer service. I would strongly not recommend this salon. Poor service and poor results.
