It normally takes me so long to find a salon to stick with because I'm so picky but I'm so lucky to have found the Alternative Hair Studio. It was a 3 hour process but it felt so fast because they were so kind and offered refreshments. I called her and left a voicemail, and she called back and left a voicemail a day later. I called her back a couple days after that and left another voicemail... and didn't hear back for 2 weeks. I had to try 3 more times to finally get a hole of her. Normally by that point I would have given up but I paid for the gift certificate and didn't want to lose it. When I made it to the salon for my finally-schedueled appointment, it was very nice. I wasn't greeted super promptly but within a couple minutes, and I was offeredf a glass of water, wine, or beer. i took the wine (of course). My stylist was running about 10 minutes late but no one bothered to tell me. What saved this review is the awesome job that Rachel did on my hair. It really looks beautiful. Perfectly placed highlights and nice long layers with lots of movement and bounce. The styling lasted all day as well. Each stylist sets their own prices as well, so I don't know what's normal there as far as prices, hours, and services offers. My total was $130 for the highlights and cut, then the $50 off. For the qualiy of the work I think it was a fair price. I may or may not go back depending on how hard it is to get a hold of her again!

I have always had nice, thick, and generally long hair. However during quarantine I did some diy hair dye and hair cuts. Constantly trying to dye my own hair and lifting color myself damaged the lower half of my hair to where it was constantly frizzy, tangled, and there was a lot of breakage. I tried to do hair masks every two days to try to get my hair back to its normal healthy state, but no luck. So I went in to Method Salon to chop off all of the damaged hair. I told Tim, as I have told all of my past hairdressers, to do whatever he thought would look best and to cut off what was needed to make my hair look healthy! Tim did a fantastic job of working with me to find a style that would flatter my face shape and making sure that I was ok with the length! I ended up buying two of the products that Tim used on my hair too-- the Oribe Dry Shampoo and the Oribe Split End Seal. They smell heavenly and make my hair look like I just stepped out of a salon. As you can clearly see, my hair is very brassy/orange, not blended, and the highlights start too close to the roots. This is not balayage at all and looks nothing like the reference I provided. I also reached out to the salon owner/manager to explain the issue, but she was not helpful at all and did not offer any real solution to fix it. For the amount I paid, this is completely unacceptable -- both the result and the customer service. I would strongly not recommend this salon. Poor service and poor results.

The appointment itself also felt hurried. My hair was flat ironed while it was still partially damp, which concerned me since I know heat tools shouldn't be used on wet hair.
