This salon is amazing i go to tina and i have crazy thick hair and she makes it pin straight literally. She also recommends different products i should use to reduce frizz so i would say this salon is awesome. Ive also been to jen and she cut my hair once and she did a really good job and it was perfectly even. I also been to shelly and she curled my hair with a straightener and they looked so good. I would like to start by saying i had a great experience at cioa bella salon!The first time i went in it was a small quaint salon with lots of atmosphere. my stylist that day did an amazing job on my hair and had given me lots of advice on how to manage my own hair so i wasnt going to the salon every week and spending tons of money.That was a first for me and i have been to every salon in the surrounding area and they would have you come in everyday if you were willing.Then three weeks later i went back and the place was three times bigger then it was and very busy. I was a day early but wanted to see if they could fit me in. the first stylist i had was totally booked but another stylist who had a small window in between clients fit me in. I have been returning here for at least three years and feel compelled to sing accolades. Each and every time my hair looks terrific. The color, style and finish receive compliments everywhere I go. I have made several referrals. Each of these have remained and become satisfied clients. Teen's expertise is color, texture and shine. She has a great since of style. Best of all, she's always personable, friendly and accommodating. In short, a real professional who lives "the customer is always right". It doesn't stop at hair, if you have time for a manicure and pedicure, Lilly Buettner provides a private spa like experience with time tested expertise. Private, massage chair with high end scrubs and lotions. Her careful treatment of cuticles and nails allowed my natural nails to look healthy and grow without artificial fillers or acrylics. Lilly provides a relaxing high end private experience. This is a notch above the "big" mani /pedi houses with loud, factory line outputs. You will not be disappointed. One last note, I have a very unpredictable work schedule. Ciao Bella has both accommodated short term same day notices and arranged "special occasion" experiences with several appointments to ensure my satisfaction.. Let me preface this by saying I had a Groupon. I don't know if my treatment was a result of being a Groupon customer. Regardless, no paying customer should be treated this way. I tried on multiple occasions (throughout several days) to contact Ciao Bella Salone to set up an appointment for a spa treatment. I finally left a voicemail after the 3rd time. Waited a day. Never got a call back. So after a few more unanswered phone calls, I finally decided to stop by in-person (on a Wednesday) to see if this place was still open. When I get inside, there is a woman at the desk and I ask her if there is any availability for that day. She states that unfortunately, they're all booked. Okay, no big deal. Can I make an appointment for later that week on Friday? Sure she says. Takes down my information, including my phone number. I also mentioned the fact that I left a voicemail and my phone call was un-returned. She didn't seem fazed by it. No response as to why nobody ever picked up the phone. I show up the Friday of my appointment. The girl at the desk is finishing up with a customer and continues to have a 10-minute conversation about the customer's son. I got tired of standing so I sat down until the conversation was over. Once the other customer left, I walked up and the employee asks if I'm all set. I tell her I have an appointment for a mani/pedi. Right away she says, "Oh, I'm the one who's supposed to do that but I'm leaving for the day. Your appointment is for next week. I called and left a voicemail." Rest assured, I never received a phone call or a voicemail. I inquired further about setting up the appointment. She tells me that the other employee who originally booked the appointment, wasn't sure when it was for. A bit annoyed, I express my frustration for having to drive there twice. She asks, "Where do you live?" I tell her, "_____." Immediately under her breath she says, "Well, _____ isn't that far." 20 minutes one way is apparently not far for her. She asked if I wanted to still keep my appointment for that next Friday. I said I was all set and walked out of there. To summarize: I wasted my time and gas twice. Once to schedule an appointment because they do not pick up their phones or return messages. Second time to find out my appointment was re-scheduled without my approval. Employees are either incompetent or lie about their appointments. read more

I had a Groupon for a haircut and highlights, so I called to make the appt. No answer, so I left a voicemail. She called me back and scheduled me for the following Tuesday. Day of the appt, I cannot find the salon (there's also a Shaker Road in Longmeadow) so I called several times, and texted her cell to ask for directions. No answer. I finally found it after 15 minutes being late. I walked in and the girl that I've been communicating with (or lack thereof) was finishing up a client. I said I had an appt, she looked at the clock and told me I was late. I told her I tried calling several times, she looked at her cell right next to her and said "Oh yeah, it's blowing up with messages so you're probably in there, take a seat." After she was finished, she said she had to call her next appt so they don't overlap... well 10 minutes later she comes back smelling like cigarettes, and escorts me to my chair. She continued to do my highlights, then asked about my haircut. I told her I had layers, and would like to keep the same style, just shorter. She said, "ok I'll just follow the layers you already have." Except all she did was cut the bottom layer, nothing else. Even that was uneven and sloppy. I took a picture of my ends and all the long pieces she missed. I'll have to go somewhere else to get the rest of my layers cut. Upon leaving, she sarcastically said, "Don't get lost on the way home." I definitely won't be back. read more

I came to Ciao Bella with a Group on and my experience was actually fantastic. Christine, the owner, was the one who cut my hair, and was very accommodating. I said I was ready to chop off a good amount of length but of course was apprehensive and she went through, step by step, what she thought I would like. She even sat down with me to go through some look books and we agreed on a look. All in all, I was so comfortable through the process and not scared about taking off the four inches. She styled my hair really well, and took great care to give me what I wanted. I was so pleased, and cant wait for my next appointment! read more

Excellent Salon!! Very friendly and professional staff. Salon is beautiful and clean. I got a full-head foil for highlights and my hair has never looked more blonde or beautiful!! I am in search of a new hairdresser since mine moved to NYC. Groupon is a perfect vehicle to try new salons. . .I had high hopes for Ciao Bella, but unfortunately, it did not pan out. Upon arrival no one at front desk to greet you, which is fine, everyone is busy. I sat down and waited for five mins. Not so, long, but since I was on time for my appointment, I should at least let someone know. The closest hairdresser to the front desk turned out to be my hairdresser and she said she would be with shortly. That turned out to be twenty mins later finishing up her client that included her lengthy conversation. . Not off to a good start. Part of Groupon was conditioning for 20 mins to 1/2 hour. She put it on said I will check you in 20 mins as she went to color another stylist's hair in the salon. 35 mins later she finally gets to me. I have been here for an hour and we are just getting ready to cut my hair. It was obvious that I was annoyed. As another reviewer mentioned, I wonder if having Groupon was part of the problem. I did get a good cut but it took 90 mins from start to finish and under normal circumstances I probably would have returned.
