Bakery items were delicious! Egg sandwich was ok, could have used some more structure. Will be back for more of the sweets for sure.

Immediately following a dispirited despondence experience at a nearby competitor coffeeshop, Sweetbee, I decided to give Ciao, Gloria the o' college try. In the passage of my professional travels I needed something small, quick and on-the-go for mid-morning prior to my meeting. I did not want a full meal either breakfast or lunch, but one single pastry to sustain my hunger pangs until lunch time. Second time around. Ciao, Gloria certainty has a larger variety of pastries and baked goodies in their large bakery glass encasement for food offering options. I perceive Ciao, Gloria as an upscale, but enticing to the foodie - not the bank account for depleting your finances. It is priced extortionate high, but occasionally worth the quality experience. My eyes became alive and my heart was mended from being utterly broken due to dispirited of despondence and extreme disappointment. There are sandwiches. There is a variety of pastries of cookies, scones, croissants, muffins, cupcakes, buns, cheesecake, and sandwiches. WOW! The cashier/server was somewhat curt and apathetic when I requested a printed sales receipt. I have heard the standard response: "we can't print a receipt but we can either text or email to you." Cashier register is powered by Square. Oh! It is not CounterPoint POS. Forward. Suddenly, a printed sales receipt appeared by miracle! Eventually I did received my printed physical sales receipt. Seating is abundant. The workers behind the counter appears friendly. Ciao, Gloria appears to be hustling busy with loyal repeat customers returning whom the customer, with dog in tow, behind me in line was greeted like an old acquaintance "hey, Lisa, what would you like today, your usual coffee?" spluttered by her usual male cashier/server. Chocolate chip cookie $5.25 It was somewhat harden. It was semi-sweet and large. It did provided me a very brief mood lift. It was a fleeting moment. This coffeeshop is accessible via MTA NYC Transit local C train at Clinton-Washington subway station and a reasonable walking distance. This coffeeshop sits on Vanderbilt Avenue adjacent to the Van Leeuwen in a residential building intersecting Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, NYC. There are tables and chairs outdoors.

We swung by Ciao, Gloria one morning because we were touring apartments one morning and it happened to be conveniently on the way from apartment A to apartment B. First impression, we were hesitant to walk in because the line was out the door. However, it seemed that most people were picking up to-go orders so the line moved quickly. We each ordered the avocado toast with a soft boiled egg and bacon. Avocado toast is generally a "safe" choice and rarely impresses or disappoints me. But damn this avocado toast was amazing. I think their secret is the quality of their produce. The avocados were so creamy, rich, and just ripe enough. As a true millennial, I eat avocados almost every day and rarely encounter an avocado this delicious. The toast was topped with tomatoes and corn, both of which were super sweet (like I'm amazing by how sweet those tomatoes were). The bacon was thick cut and very generously portioned. We also got an iced matcha and iced black tea. The black tea was nothing special, but the matcha was rich and STRONG - I appreciate that they didn't hold back! Bonus points because they plated everything as a smiley face :) we will be back!

It's a true 3 star but giving 1 more star for potential. All the sandwiches sounded great and the baked goods looked good too. Service was lovely. The drinks seemed lacking but I don't think they are aiming to a coffee shop so that's fine. I got the dolomite, which was almost great (hence the actual star). The apple slaw, aioli and fig was so great together. The focaccia was nice too, but the italian ham on the sandwich was so sinewy i couldn't eat it. it was 60% cartilage rendering it almost inedible. Since it was the only protein on the sandwich it turned into a bummer pretty quickly. Not sure if i got the short end of the stick or what.

Talk about the perfect neighborhood lunch spot. It's a casual place to grab lunch, as you order from the register and find a seat indoors or outdoors. I opted for the PEC egg sandwich and it did right by me. Prosciutto was indeed crispy. I can see it being too dry for some people, but it works well in adding satisfying texture to the sandwich. Great option to come here if you're strolling about on Vanderbilt. It gets busy and the line can wrap around, but it can move quick.

Arguably the best latte in the neighborhood. Their coffee is outstanding. There's a reason there's a line out the door each morning and every weekend. There's something about their coffee beans that are addictive and so so delicious. If you're a coffee feign, definitely put Ciao, Gloria on your list of cafes to check out. Their avo toast is solid but the coffee is where it's at here.

A solid spot for brunch and coffee in the neighborhood. Consistently good food and pastries. This is a popular spot with lots of people with strollers or just chilling and working. Despite its long lines, they move efficiently. There is a decent amount of both outdoor and indoor seating.

The cafe was so busy. Thé ricotta toast was delicious. The bread was a bit too thick though. Loved the balance of flavors and the amount of food for the price. The drinks were good and I also liked the service. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

Hot cafe latte and cappuccino. Chocolate chunk cookie in the background.

I stopped in for coffee and met a friend in the neighborhood! I ordered a cortado with whole milk. Always done well! And I had the banana walnut bread. Very moist and not too sweet. The place was crowded. Always is but a table opened up for us near the window which we took! While this place gets busy, they are good at keeping the line moving. Great coffee and breakfast place! I love the windows. Lots of sunshine!

Cant say enough good things about this local coffee/bakery/sandwich shop. From the staff, the drinks, and the pastries, it's giving 1000+ aura. This is my go to every time I visit Brooklyn, as friends who are locals frequent this restaurant religiously. The owner, Renato Poliafito is there frequently and has recently authored a cookbook called "Dolci!", please check it out. In my recent visit I had a refreshing arugula salad called Insalata Mista. Perfect for the summer heat, it was so fresh! I also had a slice of heaven which consisted of a Black Forest cake. As a cherry on top, the staff all seemed to love to be there and I am always greeted by friendly smiles.

This has been the best latte I have had in SO long. I've avoided lattes recently because of a string of bad ones, and this one has restored my faith. Get the Smoky Maple Latte, hot!! It's going to hit. I finished it so quickly, I long for it. And I shall be back. Amazing!!!

We came here on a weekday to get some work done. All of the workers were very friendly! They have a large pastry selection and the iced latte was good. I asked for recommendations and got the cinnamon roll, which was good, but I wish it was warmed up. There is a decent amount of tables and great natural lighting, but if you are working on a laptop they ask that you sit on the bar or at the circle table. We sat at the circle table, and I was able to get a decent amount of work done. They also have a clean bathroom. I later got the italian disco sandwich, which was good, but a bit messy and nothing special. There was a lot of people coming and going and at times it was louder than others as there were plenty of customers that came just to enjoy lunch. Overall I appreciated the friendly staff, the natural lighting, and large selection of items.

My wife had egg white and spinach omlette and I had an egg salad sandwich with tomato on brioche bread with side of macaroni salad, The portions and price were reasonable and we will be sure to come back and try their famous pancakes !

A waiter arrived with slices of bread. I asked if it was toasted and he replied: Oh, you wanted it toasted? I told him I did. The toast only arrived a long time later when I asked about it. I was almost done with my meal. It was cold and had obviously been sitting on a counter somewhere. After our meal, a waitress came by with the bill on an electronic device. My 85-year-old brother signed the device without looking closely. He went to buy cookies at the counter and was told the bill was still open and had not been paid. It turns out that the waitress had presented him with another table's bill - $20 higher than our bill was. So mediocre food AND incompetent and disinterested staff. I will not go back.
