Consistently the best! The soft serve is amazing, the menu is huge but not intimidating and there are just so many choices. We really appreciate the non dairy options (slushies, pineapple whip) for our lactose challenged family members. Don't worry if the line is long, they are fast and it moves quickly. I had trouble deciding on what to order because there's so many options here. You can have ice cream, frozen custard, and more in lots of different formats - shakes, sundaes, etc. They don't have any coffee flavored ice cream regularly, but I wish they did because that would make it easier for me to order. There's a coffee flavored shake, though, so that's confusing. I was overwhelmed with all the choices, but I saw a lot of things I wanted to try. A lot of the flavors weren't clear to me like what a pirate's booty or tin roof sundae would be. I ended up getting the Mississippi mud pie sundae because I was taking too long and know nothing can go wrong with that. They gave me a large portion of whipped cream - the most I've seen in my life, and there was a good amount of chocolate syrup. I noticed all the sundaes and hurricanes in my group had vanilla, but I wonder if I could have had a different flavor instead of vanilla, which isn't clear on the menu without asking. I also got to taste a peanut butter shake, which was a nice consistency. 10/10 obsessed with dairy island! It is so close to my sisters house and they got us hooked on it! I had the textbook vanilla cone with the crunch coating. It was perfect and reminded me of our childhood ice cream shop! My mom had the pineapple dole whip. It was so smooth and delicious. We all loved it! A visit to Chagrin Falls is incomplete without a stop here. Cibiks Dairy Island is the best ice cream in town. It has been serving cones for years. Busy all the time it seems. They have a good variety. Frozen custard is the specialty rather than regular ice cream. It also has some non dairy flavors. They have rotating flavors of Dole Whip. It's about $5 for a medium cup. The prices have gone up. It's typical of many other ice cream places so it's not just them to blame. The good thing is you get a big portion. It also has a miniature golf course. It's nice to whack some balls and then get ice cream. Truly a good family time. read more

Great variety and delicious ice cream! This stand is a great place to stop if you're in the area. They have chocolate and vanilla soft serve custard as well as dole whip and a great selection of unique hard scoop ice creams. There was a wait when I went this chilly evening but that just goes to show how good it is! It's a bit pricey in my opinion but my scoop was worth it. This is a Jem of an ice cream place. Used to go here all the time as a kid, and it was a very generic but fun ice cream stop with Hershey ice cream scoops and fun car food boxes to eat your fried chicken fingers from! But NOW...OMG the GLOW UP! SO SO SO good! A must stop if you are a local or passing through. You can basically add all sorts of toppings to either chocolate, vanilla or a swirl of both custard. The custard was delicious! They have tons of toppings and a weekly ice cream menu! You can also add their custard to waffles! !! The waffle sandwich was delicious and a must try. Each time we return to Ohio, and the Chagrin Falls area, we make it a point to stop by Dairy Island. The ice cream and the experience are always great. You can't beat eating your delicious ice cream treat to an Aerosmith ballad or a snappy 70's rock tune. Personally, I am a BIG fan of a twist cone "WITH EYES"! In the past year the place has been given a facelift and now sports a much cleaner and updated look. However this comes at a price as a small twist cone is now $3.00. Dairy Island is a really cute local business and the location is very convenient. There's a cute putt putt place right behind them, which is a great place to go for a fun date and then get ice cream afterward! There's no indoor seating since it's really just an ice cream stand but there are plenty of picnic tables and benches to sit on while you eat your ice cream! Their menu is massive and they have many of their special creations on flyers posted on their windows which are fun to look at and choose from. Aside from their special sundaes they have all the classics that you could want from an ice cream place, but they do only serve soft serve ice cream so please keep that in mind. If you go during the height of ice cream season then I would expect there to be a decent line, but service is always really fast so you shouldn't be waiting too long at all. I have been before when they only accepted cash, and I'm not sure if they accept cards currently but definitely something to check! Also, it's definitely much pricier than many ice cream chains but worth it if you're in the area and want to support a local business! read more

Last summer I didn't get the chance to have their yummy custard, so in early summer well after they opened I stopped to just go for the vanilla cone I'd been craving. The place was quite busy, as expected, so I took my cone back to my car to eat. It tasted just like I remembered, but imagine my disappointment when I discovered, a few licks down, that the swirl of custard was hollow, with just a tiny tail inside the otherwise empty cone. At $4 for a medium cone (and I always leave a tip), I ended up with something more like a small. So, sad and annoyed, I put it down to the fact that the place was hopping, and the servers were just trying to get the orders out ASAP. So, when I was next in Bainbridge, I was close to opening time on a weekday I decided to stop in and try again. No crowds, same order, and, depressingly, the same result: hollow ice cream and nearly empty cone. It's like biting into a chocolate bunny on Easter that you think is solid, only to discover it's only a hollow shell. Okay, Cibik's, I get it. Everyone had a rough year last year, and I am sure that lost season was horrible for you. But I would prefer that you raise your price and give your customer what they think they are paying for, than keep your prices the same and give us less. Or be honest about the reduced amount. No other custard place around here does the hollow cone thing. So, if I come back next season and the sitch is still the same, I won't be coming back. read more

Ice cream is 5 stars. Staff is a 1. Staff not knowledgeable about their deals offered and were pretty rude. I showed the girl the Yelp offer and she said she didn't know anything about it. I said ok...would you mind finding out? She said, I'll have to get my manager. Then she sat there and stared at us. Finally, I said, ok, thanks, do you mind? She was obviously miffed we asked. I've been coming to this ice-cream stand since I moved here in 2002. Speedy service with a smile. Custard is smooth and delicious. Whenever I splurge, I always order the same thing. Hot fudge sundae with toasted pecans. Only drawback is the price. A medium hot fudge sundae with pecans will run you $6.00. Dairy Queen is $2.98 and Valley Villa in Chesterland is $3.95...The stand is very cute and charming with picnic tables under a flora covered arbor, lots of folks sitting around and chatting. This place is horrible!!! The 2nd last time I was there, I asked for my order to go and they piled it up an inch over the top and refused to give me a larger cup to transfer it into. Then, I went back and the girl made a vanilla hurricane instead of a chocolate and I apologized if I did not specify, but asked for her to make a chocolate one. She told me it would be ANOTHER $6.25!!! She refused to make one and was so rude. I called back and talked to the owner who said that they make their employees pay out of pocket for any mistakes and same with their customers. Took the kids here on a tuesday evening, before baseball season began, so it wan't crowded. on the way it started pouring rain. No problem, i thought, i'll park in back under the pavillion and avoid it. We made it, still raining, and waited at the back window. There are tables, a window to order, and menus and posters at the window indicating that you can order there. I stood at the window, looking through, at two servers. They had an occasional customer at the front window, but not many, due to the rainstorm. After waiting 5 minutes I knocked on the window to make sure they knew I was there. THEY BOTH TURNED TO ME AND LOOKED STRAIGHT AT ME. They then went back to doing nothing. At this point my little children were begging me for ice cream, but we couldn't go around front without getting soaked. I stood there, upon principle, for another ten minutes, knocking occasionally. After that time, I took the kids up front. Stated, "we were out back", to which the girl replied, "we don't serve that window". I then said, "but you did see me back there, didn't you?" hoping to clarify the fact that it's fine if they don't serve back there, someone just needed to come and tell me instead of ignoring me. She replied again, "we don't serve that window". Wow. To those of you without children, 15 minutes standing at a window may not seem like a long time. To everyone else, I implore you to boycott this place. I am a chagrin resident and will not be coming back here anytime soon, and will be telling everyone I know not to go there. read more
