On a scale of 1-10, I would rate Jim and the quality of his work at least a 15. Jim sent me photos, of the various stages of the restoration, on a regular basis, just to keep me in the loop. My plan was to use this coffee table as a bench at the end of the bed, however it was very wobbly, not sturdy enough to be sat on, and had at least a 5" crack in the middle of one of the legs. I contacted Jim via email and sent pictures, to which he replied to promptly and provided a rough estimate.... so I made an appointment to bring it in. Jim is both a gentleman, who was a pleasure to deal with, and an expert craftsman, who has 28 years experience in both furniture repair and upholstery. He knows his stuff! His shop was absolutely immaculate and he was both kind and easy to talk to. Top notch customer service :) 4 days later my table was ready! Apparently, it required pretty much an entire deconstruct of the second shelf and all the legs, regluing and reinforcing all interior dowels and then reassembly. The cracked table leg? I couldn't even notice it was repaired! I'm thrilled to have my treasured sentimental table back with the ability to use it in more functional manner as a bench for the end of the bed! I would absolutely recommend Jim to anyone who needs furniture repaired. Overall it was a top notch experience in every way.

So I was told to let the sales guy know two weeks prior to when I wanted to Sofa. I paid it off the first week of July. Mind you they charge you a fee if you pay by debit/credit card. Two weeks past nothing. When I called I was told that the sofa did arrived that it will arrive by the end of the month. I was not told that it would take a month. Really who wants to wait a month for a sofa not me. So I was trying to be pushing into select another style. I really wanted the one I selected. So I request a refund. They refunded my money minus the fee they charged you for using a debit/ credit card. Why should I have to pay this fee if at the end of the day I didn't buy anything from them. When we started searching for furniture for our new house a few years ago Derbyshire popped up on just about every list I checked and had plenty of great reviews. Now that we've made a few of our own purchases I totally understand the praise this small business gets. The shop is small but mighty and packed with so many good pieces. If your style leans traditional - they've got it. If your style leans more contemporary/modern - they've got it. Plus a few things in between that could go in either direction and work with just about any style or decor. Everything is solid wood and totally customizable. You can pick your stain or paint plus your hardware (should you order something with hardware, of course). The couple that owns the shop have always been very kind and very patient, answering all the questions... especially when I was coming in every other week for too many weeks to look at dressers before I finally made up my mind. Lead time was accurate, delivery days/times were accommodating and the guys that arrived to place our items were totally courteous. For our last order/delivery the guys didn't leave until they leveled our dressers perfectly. I didn't even have to ask.. they just did it and that's how a good delivery and install team should operate. Truly, I only have good things to say about Derbyshire. Next piece of wood furniture that we need I will definitely be stopping in Derbyshire first to check things out.
