I had a lash lift and brow lamination done at this salon and let me just tell you...LIFE CHANGING. I have very thin brows and after the brow lamination it looks as if I have full beautiful brows. This review is not based on services bc I was never able to receive services as my appointment was never made. I made an appointment on Instagram for 2pm today and showed up to the appointment and found out that it had never been made bc I didn't reply to the last DM she sent asking if I'd ever been there before. For whatever reason I never saw that message which is why I didn't reply but as far as I could tell from our conversation, the appointment was made for 2pm. If it hadn't been, and she was waiting on a response from me, she could have communicated that she would be unable to make the appointment unless she received further information from me. Instead I wasted my time and my gas and showed up and she couldn't accommodate me for an hour. It was for EYEBROW THREADING. Not some timely service, like waxing or eyelash extensions. I don't see how this very simple appointment was not made or any further attempts to confirm said appointment were not made. I don't appreciate having my time wasted and was looking forward to trying this salon as its much closer to me than where I currently get my eyebrows threaded but I will not be going back here after this. UPDATE: Almost immediately after the review was posted, Marisa contacted me and was extremely apologetic and invited me back for a free threading for my inconvenience. When I went back the next day, the employee that didn't make my appointment also apologized for her error. I got my eyebrows done and the service was great. Would not recommend this place for waxing, i did not have a good experience, since the very begining she was no really friendly, like she didn't really want to do it but had to, i went for full legs waxing and let me tell you, it was sooo painful she was pretty rough (i know it suppose to hurt) i said it was my first time waxing but i really wasn't, i had Alexandra, she said most likely the hair will not come off cuz they were not long enough (hadn't shaved for over a month) well guess what, they did, but i have like patches of hair all over my legs, overall it was not a good experience at all and definitely won't come back read more

I came here back in September and I had a really great experience. My nails looked great when I left and the employees were so nice. The woman who did my gel manicure spoke to me the whole time and made sure I was comfortable. They are a little pricey, but they do student discount. One thing that some might consider frustrating, but I would not dock them a star for it, is that you must make an appointment. The salon is small, so walk-ins aren't really possible. Customer service wasn't really great when I use to go there. I use to go for waxing or to buy a hair care product. I didn't really feel welcomed to be there. Even throughout most of the service. I kept returning a couple more times and gave the benefit of the doubt. It just remained a recurring thing and after a while I just didn't feel comfortable enough to remain going there and found a new place. Which is a shame, since Cielo was closer and had a cute setup. First time there to get my keratin treatment with Monique ! It's a beautiful salon, very neat and clean. Monique did a great job, my hair is so smooth and relaxed right out the shower. Being new to the Whittier area I had to acclimated self back to where my new go to paces would be. As a man with the need of a good pedicure I came up Cielo Beauty Bar in Uptown Whittier. The locale is infused with white veneer brick walls and ample space. There are comfortable lounge benches with high backs that align the wall where you relax as you dip your feet in the luke warm waters of feet treatment. The pedicurist I have had the pleasure to be taken care by is Brenda. She is awesome, helps out with al your podiatry needs. The locale provides guest with beverages as they are taken care of. The most important factor is this locale is CLEAN. from the walls to the floors to the equipment. My recommendation is to have an appointment ahead of time because they do get busy. read more

I tried this place today as it was received recommended. I have to say it is hands down thee best! I have my own long nails and the place i was going to put acrylic over them so they wouldnt break...except that they put too much and one of my nails they peeled half of it off and wrapped the other half w acrylic My tech at Cielo was Brenda and she too very good care of my nails. It took her an hour to take off all the acrylic and then begin treating them to a nice mani and a dip powder. I love how healthy they look and natural. The pedi was amazing as well! I used to go to a high end nail bar in NoHo but Cielo definitely set the new standard for me! And they are wayyyy closer than NoHo. I also learned that u should never cut ur cuticle skin - geez even the high end place would cut it! U learn something new wvery 8/22: While I enjoyed the service from all the nail techs, I really didn't enjoy booking appts. I had a total of 3 bad experiences with the scheduling receptionists. This last one (last week) was the final one - NO MORE! I wanted to schedule a fill w/gel and a regular pedi w/gel. Appt would be 2 hours before closing and I was told they wouldn't have time for my pedi (happened before!) - I can't understand how 2 hours is not enough time to do both, even if a different tech has to do the pedi. Last 2 times I had to return for a pedi. Again, nail techs are pretty knowledgeable and good at what they do, place is clean and all instruments are taken out of a sealed package. It's booking the appt that is frustrating. The first scheduling mishap I showed up and the tech was not even there! Calendars were wrongfully booked; 2nd mishap they only booked me for my mani/fill and gel not my pedi - despite confirming text for all services. I spoke w/the owner about those incidents and she is very nice and took care of the mishaps herself. Unfortunately, I need to take my business elsewhere - I just can't see myself continuing my business when clearly customer service is not their priority as it relates to scheduling appts. I got my nails done here by Josie on Monday who does a amazing job shape was perfect and I loved how they turned out! Except a few days later my nail cracked then the next day it broke off completely... so I called to see if they could fix it without having me paying since I'm not local and it just broke off by itself. The Receptionist/ OWNER (MARISSA) was Extremely rude telling me to calm down and to not get mad.. I live in West Covina and have to come out of my way to Whittier wasting my gas and time. First time coming to this place and I loved it. Brenda was amazing and very accommodating. I went in to thread my eyebrows and wax my upper lip. Brenda advised not to do waxing since I've been using Retin-A and the skin is usually very sensitive when using it. I very much appreciate the recommendation since I wasn't aware how damaging it can be to the skin if I were to have gone with the wax. As far as the place, it's very clean and tidy. Loved the 90s music playlist as well. I will definitely be coming back and look into any other services they provide. read more
