With a progressive condition, this is not unusual; it's rare when we're able to move the needle in a positive direction, which is what CCF floats have done for me! Baclofen, a common muscle relaxer, didn't work for me at all. But monthly floats, over time, have improved my flexibility, and reduced my pain & muscle spasms. Beyond the physical relief, I've also obtained something beyond any expectation - the ability to calm my Central Nervous System which previously lived in a constant fight-or-flight state of hyper-vigilance. Now that I float regularly, my body is very different! I've regained flexibility, and can manage my pain in a proactive preventative way! The pain relief for me lasts about 3 weeks, and when I can't get to my monthly float, I definitely feel a difference. This is how I finally realized that floats are an imperative part of my care plan. They aren't frivolous pampering - they are a reliable care tool that helps me help lower my tension, relax my mind & body, and access a sense of inner peace and serenity. Being a member also helps me access this therapy at a cost I can afford on a fixed income. I highly recommend Central Coast Floats. The staff is very kind and welcoming. On your first visit you'll get a full tour and have all your questions answered. The facilities are very clean, which as you can imagine, is imperative for someone living with an autoimmune condition. Post float, there is a lovely room to relax, create some art, drink some tea - and just revel in the relaxation. Pushing pause like this in our busy lives isn't something to underestimate. For me, it has changed my entire perspective on wellness and how I take care of myself as I continue to age. Try it! You'll love it, too!

When my wife purchased the two gift cards, she was told that if I decided I wanted to do one treatment instead of the other (switch a float for a fire and ice for example) that was no problem. I did my fire and ice session and knowing that a float session was not something I would enjoy, asked to redeem my float gift card for a fire and ice session. They are the same price, the only difference is that fire and ice is actually shorter. Well the owner would not let me trade the float session for a fire and ice session even though her employee told my wife it was fine. She told me I should just gift my gifted float session to someone else. This place already has our money and now I'm told to just give it away if I don't like it. Interesting way to do business, she could have let me exchange it the one time since we were told it was fine and then notified me of the policy going forward, then she would have kept me as a customer, but now I will not be back.

I have floated here twice and will be going back in March to take a guest. This is a very…read moreinteresting experience that I've come to realize is not offered a lot of places. You shower before and after your float. It is a form of sensory deprivation. You go into the tank and it starts with a blue light and music, which slowly fade until you are left in the dark box. The tanks are very large so don't worry about feeling claustrophobic. Due to the mass amount of salt in the water you float effortlessly. It takes all the weight off your body. So much so that my arthritic knee stopped hurting for a while following my float. The tanks are not emptied after each use (I've found hair in my tank both times), but apparently the high salt content kills any germs/bacteria. I highly recommend this place if you're into this type of wellness. I did buy the guided meditation for my second float and it wasn't any different than the regular float, so I don't recommend paying that extra premium.

It's a unique experience. When you are floating in salt water, in complete darkness and quiet, you feel a relaxation that is difficult to put into words. I use this time as a meditation. Signing up for a float is easy. I use the website and schedule a time. Sean is the owner and takes wonderful care to see you have a wonderful experience. Check out the pre-float instructions, there aren't many, to ensure you know what to expect. This was my second float. I thought about what I wanted to focus on for a few days before my soak. This isn't essential, but I found during my first float wondering, "Ok, I'm here. Now what do I do?" To begin, I focus on my breath and it doesn't take long for you to feel like you're floating in space. The rest of the world just falls away. It's very peaceful. Everyone does it for different reasons and that's the great part of doing it. So try it and see for yourself.

Why it's worth hard earned cash? Imagine your body as a…read moresymphony orchestra--each instrument representing a system: muscles, nerves, hormones, immune cells. When you're in chronic pain or stress, the orchestra plays out of tune--the violins screech, the percussion races, the flutes can't keep up. Now imagine magnesium as the conductor's tuning fork. It doesn't play an instrument itself. It doesn't hand you new strings or hit the drums. Instead, it emits a calming resonance--subtle, precise--that helps the musicians retune themselves. When you immerse yourself in a float tank, it's like laying the entire orchestra in a perfectly quiet concert hall filled with that tuning resonance. The magnesium ions, the warm water, the silence, the weightlessness--all create a chemical and sensory silence where your body's instruments can hear themselves again and fall back into alignment.

Instead of the egg-shaped pods, Float clinic has little rooms which I thought looked roomy and interesting based on the photos. The good: * I do like how you can step directly from the shower into the float tank. The tanks are fairly roomy, I'm 5'8" and felt I had a decent amount of room. * the bathroom was clean and equipped with hair dryers * the lobby is cute and inviting * friendly staff, good overview of the float process The meh: * my float tank door didn't close all the way, and my room light didn't automatically turn off which was distracting. I eventually got out and flipped the switch * salt wasn't fully dissolved, tank maybe a little oversaturated * I actually prefer the elliptical pods, I found the corners distracting * shower curtain was gross, I wish they just had like a half wall which would be easier to clean * there was caution tape in the shower and the frame around the door of the tank was popping off - just didn't look that nice. * just the one bathroom and the hairdryers are in there so you hold up the toilet if you use them - would be nice if there was a separate space for this * the place I usually go has thoughtful touches like little packages of Vaseline to cover any small scrapes so the salt doesn't burn, hot tea available, other little things - Float Clinic didn't have those, was pretty bare bones. Final verdict: for me, this was just ok. I've had a much nicer float experience at my usual spot and now I'm spoiled. Glad I got a float in while I was in town but wouldn't return.
