The best spray tan!! I came here from out of town for a spray tan the week of my wedding. I was super nervous because I didn't have the chance to do a trial beforehand, but I had had spray tans at other salons. Maria did an incredible job! I got the express tan on Wednesday night and showered 3 hours later to control the color. It stayed beautifully until my Saturday wedding! I'm so happy I trusted sugar for my tan, and they were so kind and willing to do touch-ups of it wasn't absolutely perfect. My biggest fear was streaky hands for a wedding (a lot of ring/hand photos) but they did a tremendous job. Highly recommend for everyone but especially the brides! read more

Michelle is kind, professional, and really good at what she does. Sugaring isn't painless, let's be honest. This is hair removal, not a spa nap. But she works quickly, makes it as comfortable as possible, and walks you through the process so you're not just gripping the table in silence. I have sensitive skin and this is one of the few places that doesn't leave me irritated for days. Everything she uses is all natural, and my skin handles it well. She also offers spray tans if that's your thing. The bathrooms are actually clean. Not "we wiped the counter real quick." Clean. Complimentary tampons and wipes are stocked, which tells me she's thinking about her clients beyond the appointment. There's free Jolly Ranchers and gum in the waiting area. A little sugar before the sugar. Booking online is easy. There's plenty of parking in the back. I've been coming for years and I still drive from Ventura. Based on the glowing reviews, I made an appt here. It was by far the most painful Brazilian I have ever had, and I've had several. I was writhing with pain on the table. I assumed my service provider was new be side of her harsh technique but when asked she said she'd worked there for two years. They don't put any protective paper on the table. I asked her if she was going to and she said no. I looked down at the table and there was a remaining hair on it from the last person - yuck. After I was done, she forcefull wiped off my hair and the goop that was on the table down with a towel, ready for the next victim. She didn't leave the room when I undressed or redressed. Squeeeeeal, I am so happy I found Sugar SB!!! I've had so-so experiences with waxing and sugaring in SB. I have enough fur to make me uncomfortable without without regular maintenance (yes, I was dying during the shut downs!) and the biggest issue I have is that a lot of hair is left behind or the process is deeply uncomfortable-way beyond what is normal. Now, for context, I've been getting waxed for over 20 years, so I have a good sense of normal discomfort and reasonable expectations. All that said, Satara made my weekend with a pleasant, smooth, hygienic, and thorough wax this morning! Not only does she have wonderful, welcoming and relaxing energy-she is fast, efficient, professional, and knowledgeable about all things delicate skin care and hair removal. She made the process so pleasant and answered my questions regarding after care completely and with helpful product recommendations. Satara was very diligent and cautious about following all social distancing and cleanliness protocols. I did not request Satara because I was not familiar with this business, but I will definitely be requesting her in the future. However, my experience with Satara leads me to believe that this is a regular experience at Sugar. All in all, it's amazing what some well delivered pampering can do because I've felt like a million bucks since my appointment and can't seem to stop smiling! read more

My second time visiting sugar and I cannot recommend it highly enough! I've had appointments with both Michelle and Jaclynn and both times I had a great experience. The booking process is very easy online and the appointment was right on time. They do book up very quickly in advance so plan ahead, but if you follow their Instagram page, they often post last-minute openings on their stories. They are very professional and make the whole experience comfortable and relaxing. They also did a very thorough job of the sugar service in no time at all. The space is clean, bright and welcoming. I have been coming to sugar for years..."since the beginning" says Michelle. First, let me tell you about Michelle, the owner. This woman is the most wonderful person I have ever met. She is so dedicated to her craft and treats you like a best friend. She cares about you and your life, she gets to knows you and remembers all the little things. She does all this while simultaneously ripping those precious hairs from that precious place on your body. (Pssst. I'm talking about your vagina ) I've done it all down there. Waxing. Tweezing. Lasers. You name it. But Michelle has been the most effective and efficient method of taking care of my lady bits. She's also meticulous so you don't even have to pay attention. Just trust her. She's more concerned with you being baby smooth than you OR your partner ever could. In terms of COVID, my last appointment was on June 7th, 2020 and Michelle had instructions printed out, required mask wearing at all times, asked that you wash your hands in a bathroom before entering the studio, then took my temperature once I was ready. She wipes everything down and has you in & out in 20 min or less. The sugar itself is not pretty ya'll - it's a painful, but Michelle coaches you through it like the best Pilates trainer ever could. It's awful, it hurts, but you know you're gonna look DAMN good once she's done. Anyway. TL;DR Michelle is PERFECTION, Satara her first in command is a wonderful artíst and I also 100% recommend any lady here. I haven't had my eyebrows done by Celeste but from what I've seen she's top notch. -- Update: I thought I'd add some quick tips I've learned over the years for Brazilians/bikini waxes. * Take an ibuprofen 20 minutes or so before your appointment. * Speak up if you need a break, and ask Michelle or Satara to coach you on when to breath. * Buy the FUR oil and exfoliating gloves Michelle sells. REALLY dedicate some time in the shower to maintain things, so scrub scrub scrub ya'll. read more

I've been going to Celeste for my brows for years, I've always loved her work and have never left with anything other than perfectly shaped brows. She is the nicest, sweetest, most welcoming person! I quickly was convinced to sugar my underarms. I've got 3 sessions so far and can see the results. My hair grows in thinner and more sparse. Not to mention how soft they are! After seeing the results of my underarms, I decided to try getting my legs sugared and Brazilian. I got both of these services done by Michelle. She was amazing! I explained to her that I had never gotten my Brazilian done and she talked me through the entire process and made me feel extremely comfortable. I will not say that I did not feel pain, because I did, but it was so quick and totally worth it. My hooha has never been so soft and smooth! I love sugar! I have been going here for around a year and it's the best. Happens to be less than 10 minutes from my house which is a bonus! I have been seeing Satara consistently and she's the best, so sweet, easy to chat with and great at distracting me from the unavoidable pain haha I get my underarms done all the time and it's so easy and effective. Takes less than 20 minutes from start to finish. I have super sensitive skin and sugaring has made it so I don't get razor burn/lil red bumps!
