Comfortable seating, laid back vibes and premium cigars. The humidor is small but has some of the top cigar brands on the market. Not a wide selection but have a variety of popular sticks. There are plenty of accessories and soft drinks available for purchase. Street meter parking in front and a couple of spaces in the back. This is definitely not your grand dad's cigar lounge. If I can provide a comparison, I'd go with my other fave. Coffee. Starbucks would be the cigar lounge that only Carrie's Davidoff and Fuente sticks. The draft coffee shops, like Tepito in Pasadena, have that small batch coffee that's unique and special. Same goes for this lounge. The majority of cigars they offer are the small batch variety you've read about in CigarSnob mag or hear about on the cigar podcasts. They carry Lost and Found, Illusione, Aganorsa and Curivari. That's more my speed. Considering we are close to downtown LA and located on Melrose, I'd expect prices to be higher than they are. This shop offers exceptional bang for your buck. Wonderful variety at a decent price and you can light up indoors. What else could you possibly ask for? If I lived in this hood, I'd be here every week. read more

Lets keep yelp real!!! I really enjoy the establishment. I've been here several times now and for being on Melrose there is plenty of parking, surprisingly down to earth, clean, and always stocked. One of the few places that has Caldwell sticks. Unlike many cigar lounges in the area you don't have to be a member to sit and enjoy a smoke without feeling judged. The customer service is great. A fiend of mine was visiting and after having had dinner and a few drinks we made the last minute decision to get some cigars, and also we decided to walk there from the bar we were at because, why not? We were gambling that they would let us in, Yelp said it they closed at 10 and we got there at what would be last call at a bar. We got there and were greeted warmly and walked towards the humidor. We got some advice on a cigar and were told that we can stay as long as we wanted despite the posted closing time. The rest of the guys-it was all guys were clearly regulars and in the middle of a spirited debate inside. We didn't feel like trying to ingratiate ourselves so we sat in their patio area. Our cigars were good, we were given plenty of time to relax, have a smoke and were kindly told that they were finally closing up. I was hesitant to visit after having read some of the reviews here regarding service and I regret letting that sway me from finding V Cut earlier. read more

Absolutely stellar place to hang. The selection is second to none Eugene is someone you can spend hours talking to the crowd and the vibe is super chill. I've been to quite a few cigar lounges all over Los Angeles and the knockout punch here really is accessibility, approachability, price and location. This is the titular V Cut. I have to say this cut has a enormous utility and makes for an efficient exhale. I visited for the first time today and wasn't completely sure what I was in the mood for outside of the usual cigar brands. I described my tastes and preferences to Conrad; he nailed it. Place itself is modern, friendly and comfortable, and the outdoor space is a bonus for those of us who like to have some fresh air while we're burning tobacco between puffs. They take Apple Pay, thus it's wallet optional for anyone wanting to keep their pockets free. A gem of a spot that's been around this neighborhood for a while that is well worth a visit. I've been to many cigar lounges in the greater LA area and there's a handful of great shops (Fair Oaks cigars in South Pasadena, Maximar in OC, etc). But V Cut is slowly becoming my favorite place. V Cut is spacious and comfy, selection is good even tho humidor is a modest size, prices are very reasonable, and staff is awesome. read more

First visit to this cigar lounge. Very impressive humidor with many boutique brands and hard to find blends. I live an hour away but when I'm in the area, I like to stop and enjoy a cigar while waiting for traffic to die down. This will be my go to cigar lounge when I'm in the LA area from this point on. First timer and I have to say worst worst experience in my life.. I understand it's a hye end locations and high prices which I'm OK with that. But with all that comes hye end service and a little smile. The guy was rude and didn't know how to treat clients. The place has NO coffee or tea. Walked in the to get a cigar, he was on my head the hole time and stayed in there till I got out, and had the nerve to tell me hurry up. The cigar industry is small and we the people talk to each other and rate the places. So not worth going here at all. I felt like I was scammed. So Please STAY AWAY not worth your time or money!! And if it's a cigar lounge why you have people smoking cigarettes. BIG NO NO ( Zero Stars ) read more

V-Cut Cigars is some of the last GREAT authentic cigar lounge in Los Angeles. They have Ample parking in the back parking lot and plentiful street parking all around. You won't find a better selection of cigars to choose from, a very knowledgeable staff and a plethora of usual suspects to ask a cigar question, if you wanted to poll the house. For cigars, there's no other place I would buy from, great prices, great knowledge, great attitude, friendly people, amazing selection, comfy seats, your home-away-from-home, that secret club-house that a select few know about. The owner is a total jerk, clueless about customer service. I've been to cigar lounges all over LA and elsewhere, always brought my dogs, never been a problem. Yet here, in W Hollywood, probably the most dog-friendly place on Earth, this guy decrees that no dogs shall be allowed in the store, due to "health code violations" lol. What a crock. There's no food being served here, so obviously the board of health has no jurisdiction and it's purely his decision. He did offer that we could sit outside the store on the patio, but sorry that's not acceptable. We came to sit on the sofa and watch the game, not to sit outside on the street in uncomfortable chairs with all the noise and everything. If you're not a dog lover, then you're probably happy with this policy, but if you love dogs, as most people in W Hollywood do, you should BOYCOTT this establishment, purely on principle. read more

As an avid cigar smoker... it is always important to have a place to call my cigar lounge... and that would be V-cut... i have been coming here for years... nearly 20... basically.. when they opened... i have watched the changes... and the folks that come and go... but Taz & Adam remain the constant.. and that makes me feel good.... they always have what i am smoking around... and if they are running low... they have been known to hide a box for me (which makes me feel super special)! I have been known to show up after eating lunch in the area.. and sit and have a smoke... and play a game of backgammon... there are a lot of great cigar places around... this one is my favorite of them all!! read more

This is easily the best Cigar Lounge in town. I've been smoking cigars for over 30 years and the selection here is great. Taz, Conrad and the crew are very knowledgeable about their cigars and everyone feels like family. The service was good but not blow you away elevated to bring this out of casual to a higher tier restaurant when you're paying a higher tier price. This is actually a 4.5 stars for me if I could do half stars. Service/Ambiance: We made a 7 PM reservation for Thursday night. Parking is street parking, which we didn't have an issue with parking by the church/school down the neighborhood street. The interior is dark and vibey, when they sat us down they turned on the lamp on our table. Our table was a small two person table so at times it was packed with all of our dishes. They have the hand wipe that looks like a little tablet that they add water to. Though we put we were celebrating on our reservation, they didn't do anything special for it or even acknowledged it which was a bit of a bummer but I guess it's just a default field on the reservation app. Just know they won't make your night special for it. Drinks: Their drinks menu has a lot of sake options but we opted for the yuzu soju cocktail (it was so refreshing and delightful - reminded us of a calamansi juice) and the seasonal golden ale from Japan (was refreshing). I saw they had non alcoholic Suntory but I wish they had their regular beer. Small Bites: The waiter advised for two people to order 2 small bites for the table and three handrolls each. We did three small bites, three handrolls each, and a dessert. We left stuffed! For our small bites, we ordered the crispy rice, half a dozen oysters, and their most popular uni toast. The ratio on the crispy rice was perfect and I loved how there was a sliver of avocado too. It was fried perfectly and still had the white rice inside. This dish was pretty sticky and got stuck to my teeth so might not be a great option if you're on a date but it came off after chewing for a while. The oysters were fresh and standard. The uni toast though, absolutely delicious. The taste was phenomenal with all the individual components making a symphony of taste. The uni was fresh too, my girlfriend does not like uni unless it's very fresh and she enjoyed the uni toast. A must try! Handrolls: Now for the handrolls, everything blew me away. The standouts for me were (in order of my favorite to least) the salmon, seared salmon, blue crab, and the bossam! Almost everything we ordered except the scallop. Don't get me wrong though, the scallop was good it just wasn't especially tasty like the others. It came aesthetic and I loved being able to decide which ones to eat first/taking my time without having to worry about the seaweed soggy-ing up. All the fish was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The chili yellowtail wasn't too spicy. The bossam was such a unique blend of flavors and the mackerel didn't taste really fishy. Dessert: We finished the meal off with the matcha basque cake and it was a 10/10 too. The matcha wasn't overpowering and the texture was done perfectly.

But they need to improve their phone situation cause if we didn't get lucky we drove an hour to eat here to be potentially turned away 2-3 hours before closing when I tried calling multiple times and DMs replied the next day. Also these are premium LA prices definitely expensive but so so delicious.

She also kept us waiting around forever for our check that I had to flag down one of the hostesses because we waited another 15 minutes with our card out. The service was so bad and distracting so unfortunately it took away from my experience. Positives: street parking is super easy, do NOT pay for the $14 valet. The cornbread is an absolute must, the trout was absolutely delicious, the chili stew was incredibly flavorful, and the cobbler was a nice sweet end to the entire meal. This is a good cigar lounge, which would be worth visiting even if it weren't the only game in this part of town. (At least I think it's the only one in this part of town.) It's refreshingly non-Melrose-y (except for the parking), although I did get the feeling that the entire Writer's Guild of America had set up shop at the V Cut. That's not a criticism: writers are quiet, although that doesn't make them the most convivial of people while they're at work. The humidor is spacious and well stocked. People on Yelp have mentioned the "boutique" policy of off the beaten path cigars, but don't let that scare you off. There's plenty in the humidor that I'd heard of before, and I'm hardly the most experienced cigar smoker. The staff are friendly and helpful, and guided me to a La Flor Domenicana which I enjoyed, although I might ask for something a little lighter next time. There's plenty of room to sit and relax. There are tables and chairs if you want to work, and a pleasant patio if you'd rather enjoy your cigar outside. Backgammon seems to be a thing here, too. There's a café a couple doors down under the same management, and they can bring whatever you order to the cigar lounge. (I didn't take advantage of that on my visit, although it's definitely something to bear in mind for the future.) By the way, although the place is called V Cut, and they seem to prefer cutting your cigar that way, they were perfectly willing to give my cigar a straight cut. read more

I have had them every time now because they are the best. I have seen complaints about the $100 minimum per person, but if you get a cocktail, cigar and bits it won't be an issue. Also, it's not a walk up bar so make sure you make a reservation to assure access.

Greg, the owner, truly knows his cigars. You can immediately tell he's passionate and incredibly knowledgeable, and his recommendations made for an amazing smoke. Beyond that, the conversation was just as enjoyable as the cigar itself. The atmosphere felt like family. Everyone knew each other, people were welcoming, and it never felt intimidating or pretentious--just relaxed, genuine, and comfortable. My wife and I had such a great time hanging out, talking, and soaking in the vibe. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.
