We expected a place called Latin Flavors to be a great mix of a few Latin cuisines. We didn't…read moreexpect it to be perfect due to its current rating, but we did expect food to be edible. We walked in and were greeted by a very nice gentleman who treated us spectacularly. We had our pick of tables..... we were also the only ones in there. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, and the chicken plate with rice and beans. I'm going to jump right in: The black beans tasted like they'd dumped the entire cumin condiment jar in by mistake. The cuban sandwich had the wrong ingredients and was odd tasting. The chicken breast was chewy like I'd been in a microwave. And the kicker....... The rice was at least a day old and reheated. This is unacceptable. I understand maybe some things were from the day before as often black beans can be, but not every single item. Not for a restaurant. This is your one job. We quietly left most of our meal, paid our bill and left never to return. The worst part was feeling duped. The one waiter and the one cook there acted like this was a great meal cooked to order, and they'd done all this work super fast. As fast as a microwave could warm it up. Gross. I'm not sure what was happening behind the scenes but that one meal cost you return customers.

Been meaning to come by this authentic Latin restaurant. Did not disappoint…read more Family-owned and run with authentic flavors. We stopped in for lunch and got the sampler. Enough for two to split. EVERYTHING was very good. Words can't capture how good it was. Check out the menu and the picture of the sampler. I don't know all of what was what...but I ate all my half and was very pleased. My wife went back a few days later with our Puerto Rican friend and they killed it again apparently. AND it is hard to impress our friends.

Wow! All I can say is wow for the food!! Came here yesterday with my family and the place was…read morepacked but not in a *too crowded* way, thankfully. The restaurant itself wasn't too large and had a bathroom in the back. They were able to clear a table for us and sat us down in good time. A man (possibly the owner?) came up to take our order and was very sweet asking us about our day how we were doing. Both my mom and I ordered the Churrasco la Estancia (my mom subbed plantains instead of fries) and my sister ordered the Pescado a lo Macho since she was craving fried fish. The churrasco was amazing, perfectly cooked, seasoned well and so so good with the chimichurri(?) sauce on top. My mom let me try some of her plantains and I wish I got those instead of my fries! We all loved the rice as well, something about the soft, flavorful fluffiness of it made it great. My sister was also very content with her fried fish and we were both pleasantly surprised by the fish stew that came with it. The type of plantains she got with that dish weren't our favorite though. The food came out in good time, but we had to come up and ask for the check because one of the waitresses was busy talking to another customer. Overall the food was great though and I told my mom I'd love to come again the next time we visit the area!

Ven pa' Ca Latin Food, 1390 US-1 N, Malabar, Florida 4.5-Stars…read more THIS IS WHY I DO THIS, PEOPLE! The Big Boy is always on a quest find the holy grail of the fantastic meal. Sometimes he feels like Don Quixote, the proverbial Man of La Mancha, tilting at endless windmills of mediocrity. But every now and then, after countless disappointments, he stumbles into a Shangri-la like Ven Pa' Ca Latin Food. And when he finally does, Eureka! Trumpets blare! Bells ring! Huzzah! If I spoke Spanish, this may have been a truly flawless meal. Let me tell you, the inability to speak Spanish is becoming a real hindrance in Brevard County. If only I had listened more closely in Spanish class to Señor Stanford at Melbourne High School in 1982. Sebastian, our waiter, started out slow as he didn't realize at first that I only speak English. However, he came to life once we got on the same language page. He knew the menu backwards and forwards and was on top of things. I first tried the Fried Pork (carne frita), big chunks of lightly fried pork served with tostones (fried green plantains) and rice with pigeon peas. The rice on this dish was very dry hence the 1/2-star demerit on an otherwise perfect score. The other offerings on this plate, however, were delicious. I also ordered the Churrasco a la Parilla (grilled skirt steak) rare, which came drizzled with a mouthwatering chimichurri sauce. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, although, the star of this show was the side of Arroz Mamposteado, which was flavorful, flawlessly executed, and well worth the upcharge. Are you hungry for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine? Then slide on your zoris, moccasins, clogs, or other zapatos of choice, and walk yourself into Ven pa' Ca Latin Food. The Big Boy says, "I may not know where to find the Fountain of Youth, but I found a hidden gem of a restaurant in Malabar. Ven pa' Ca!"
