My friend is from Yaco, PR and was so hungry for home cooking. We went after lunch but before dinner so we were the only people there. The food, the service was on point. It was a lovely way to sit and look at the inter-coastal while enjoying the freshly prepared specialties. The portions when generous and the presentation was beautiful. My friends was starved for Mofongo and I first thought it a bit pricey. THEN I saw how much they served - holy cow! He ate some, took 3/4 home, shared some with his adult son, still had some for lunch. I had the fried pork chunks with fried yuca and plantains and I had to take some home! It was a lovely lunch the next day! I also had a beverage I had never heard of before, Coco Rico. How has this NOT been in my life?! OMG - so tasty! We may not order the Mofongo every time but they have a lot of great options and their view is quite lovely. I have been in Brevard County for 10 years during this time I searched for a good PR restaurant that could satisfy my wants from the mother land of PR. We found it at Ven Pa Ca, and for the last four years we have visited this location. We go to the one off of US 1 in Malabar. The place itself is nicely decorated, clean and food has been on point every time. We went on Saturday to enjoy the outdoor live music night and dinner, but I was a little disappointed. I want this place to continue to flourish for this community, so I thought let me write a constructive response about my visit to improve its location. Firstly, a host must be present upon a customer arrival to assist client. Secondly, the waiter/waitress must be attentive to the customers. Thirdly, if you're not going to have something available make a notation on menu or start out with that when you sit your customers at the table. Fourth, the tostones rellenos with one shrimp were tasty but did need a broth to go with it. Encourage customers to make reservations on Saturdays since it will be your busiest day of dining. This restaurant was recommended to me and I can see why! First it is right across from the river and they have tables outside if you would like to sit out there. The steak was recommended to me so I tried that with steak and shrimp. It was delicious. Tender tasty and just perfect! It came with salad rice and beans and I tried the mofinga which is mashed green banana corn and I'm not sure what else was in it. It was $34 but honestly worth every penny! Really what can I say the first time I attempted to try this place I was denied entry to eat. Mind you it was a Saturday evening around 8:45 PM, I make it back to this place again around 8PM, greeted by a beautiful young woman and was walked to a table right away. I ordered a steak medium well, yellow rice and sweet plantain and a single piece of appetizer. I order a glass of water and was brought out a cheap bottle of water. Then my entrée arrived together with my appetizer. Frustrating yes but that's not it my steak was not how I ordered it, I had to send it back which I never ever do but in this case I had to, it returns to the table minutes later a few minutes too long. As the steak come back to me I noticed it was not garnished and presented to me as it did the first time it came out and went back in. Then as I was told y options for my sides which one was hello rice. YELLOW RICE. Not Rice y gondules, I am allergic to gondules. My waitress did not return to make sure I was ok. Service horrible. Food terrible ambience poor taste in decor, I'll never return here nor well I inform my colleagues to waste their money at such a horrible place either. read more

Went this weekend with the family to try this place out to see if it was better than what we make at home. We ordered mofongo, alcapurrias, sancocho, typical PR food and the food was not bad. The sancocho and alcapurrias needed more flavor but it was decent, the mofongos were good, overall the food was as a 7. The service though, that needs work, i'm sure they're understaffed because it took us a while to get our orders in and delivered. So when they're fully staffed, each table should be given water prior to ordering, if sancochos are ordered, the spoon needs to come with the plate. (We waited a while for one) and each table should have the condiments us hispanics always need lol like salt, pepper, hot sauce, ketchup . Overall I give them a 3 out of 5, because food needed more flavor..(use more sofrito ) and the service needs to be more efficient. read more

Food was great the first time but for some reason this time around slow season the food was horrible cold Mofongo was made very thin and only 6 medium size shrimp.... the aljio sauce was not good at all so next time you decide to to make the hour long trip think twice. Exquisite! This is a hidden gem! I always knew about the food truck but never the restaurant. My family and I stopped in for an appetizer, entree, and some drinks. We ordered the Passion Fruit and Coconut Mojitos. The drinks were so good I almost forgot I was drinking alcohol and had to limit myself to only 2 but could have easily had more due to the flavors. I wanted to try every mojito flavor on the menu. Sebastian was an amazing bartender and host! We arrived an hour before closing and were treated like kings and queens. We ordered an appetizer that had chicken, pork, plantains, and fritters. It was so filling that we were unable to order an entree. We ordered a meal to go for our family member that couldn't make it. She loved the chicken tenders and fries. We all will definitely be back. The restaurant is clean and setup for amazing pictures. The ambiance is intimate and casual. read more

I have mixed feelings about Ven pa Ca their food was good, service also. What I did not like was the fact that the tip was already included on the bill and was not informed by the waitress. Had I not noticed it when I glanced over the check. I would have tipped her twice. And on top of that calculated the tip at 23%. They need to correct this. I have always tipped my servers but never at that rate. I guess they will not see me there again. read more

I took a short trip to try out this place, but I absolutely would not recommend it. To start, the meat empanadas were completely bland, as if the meat hadn't been seasoned at all. The soft drinks were canned and priced at over $3 each. The "arañitas" were raw in the center, and the "masitas de cerdo" were mostly balls of fat barely cooked with hardly any meat--absolutely terrible. To top it all off, there was a hair underneath the tostones. That was the final straw, and I immediately asked for the check and left. I would never recommend this place nor return. read more

In search for a good Puerto Rican restaurant in the area, my family and I found Ven Pa Ca. We decided to have dinner here to celebrate my mother's birthday. We made a reservation ahead of time, which I would recommend if you decide to go on a Saturday night. We arrived and were quickly seated. The ambiance matched the setting. The customer service was amazing. The food was extremely flavorful and fresh!!!. I had fireworks in my mouth. I ordered the fried pork with rice and pigeon peas (make sure if you do the rice and pigeon peas, get it mamposteado, YOU WILL NOT REGRET II). I will definitely return here again. read more

Service is a zero, no one in the restaurant and you wait 10 minutes for a glass of water and then you wait 45 minutes for your meal. Second time we've eaten here because my son-in-law is Puerto Rican and he wants authentic food, but his was too salty to eat. Mine was too salty last time we were here. As a Puerto Rican that not only cooks but also appreciates the culinary arts and service experience, I will share that Ven Pa Ca (Palm Bay) can provide you with a pleasurable experience (at a cost) when dining in (if things go well that day) but I also must share my experience regarding consistency in pricing, quantity and quality. After being a loyal and proud P.R. customer who has enjoyed live music there, I was embarrassed by the tug of war, lack of knowledge, changing of prices and incorrect items (things other than what we're ordered) as well as a manager (or owner as they state) that from my experience could care less (female person) (although we know the male). She ignored my humble and quiet warning showing her there were margarine wrapper pieces in our Mofongo although I thought it was respectful to only show it to her but that was the first time. I tried for 3 days to place an order for 2 platters and in the long run, not only did she not return my calls and leave it up to her employees but the price was more than agreed on at pickup with the excuse that they added 5 pieces (all 5 by the way were just Fat) and here's the kicker! Once I served it at home it was the wrong meat! Pork not chicken!!!! Which I stated over and over and over during the previous 3 days. My purpose was chicken not pork!!! I super overpaid and I am now sharing what happened showing their way of operating. read more

Se ordenaron 4 platos de los cuales 2 eran con churrasco. Luego de esperar un rato llegan los 2 platos que no eran de churrasco. Pregunté 2 veces por los otros platos hasta que al fin me dicen que no había churrasco y habían salido a comprarlos pero que los iban a hacer en ese momento. No podía esperar más así que pedí la cuenta para irme. Adicional no hubo ninguna consideración por tenernos esperando tanto tiempo sin comer.
