So refreshing and smooth that you barely taste the rum, but watch out... it can smack you in the back of the head! For dinner, I ordered the ropa vieja because I had been craving it so badly, and boy, did I find the right place to satisfy that craving! The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, with that rich, tomatoey sauce I had been looking for. It was absolutely delicious. My husband, of course, ordered the Cuban sandwich, and he absolutely loved it. The pork was so juicy and moist, and the bread was incredibly fresh and delicious. Then Barbara came by and told me about the $10 pomegranate martini special. Obviously, I had to try it--and that was delicious too! Overall, 10/10 experience. We all loved the rice as well, something about the soft, flavorful fluffiness of it made it great. My sister was also very content with her fried fish and we were both pleasantly surprised by the fish stew that came with it. The type of plantains she got with that dish weren't our favorite though. We quietly left most of our meal, paid our bill and left never to return. The worst part was feeling duped. The one waiter and the one cook there acted like this was a great meal cooked to order, and they'd done all this work super fast. As fast as a microwave could warm it up. Gross. I'm not sure what was happening behind the scenes but that one meal cost you return customers.

The waitress (Yonela) helped us with providing some recommendations. We started out with some warm chips and salsa to hold us over while we looked over the menu. The chips were really crisp and the salsa was very flavorful (not spicy hot). The items we ordered included Steak a La Salvadorena, Beef Enchiladas, and Chicken Pupusa. While waiting we enjoyed the warm tasty chips and salsa...yum-yum. Our meal arrived and both entrees were extremely delicious with great flavors. I must say, the meat was seasoned just right in both meals. Many Mexican restaurants we have visited the meat is often very bland with no flavor. We were really amazed just how tasty these two dishes were. We will certainly return to enjoy more grub for our tummies for sure.
