Sunny Dish with added toast was very bland
    Christina L.

First thing I noticed here was that the water smelled awful. I'm not sure if it's the glass or the water itself. My partner said it's because they use unfiltered water. I literally had to hold my breath while drinking it. We ordered keto benny and sunny dish at brunch but felt the food was very bland. The taste is simple and homemade, but we also felt most breakfasts we make at home would be more flavorful. When my dish said it came with "tomato", I was expecting grilled tomato, but it was 2 little cherry tomatoes. The avocado was hard not quite ripe. Don't think we will be back.

Charming friendly table service. Fresh delicious food that's a little pricey but that's par for the course these days. Quiet attractive interior with unobtrusive music and a few sidewalk tables. This is a nice neighborhood family run business that's a delight to support. Would definitely recommend.

Everything we ordered was tasty! Amazing waffles and Mediterranean omelette was great. Quick and kind service. Great little quiet place to stop!

The food is good and it makes sense why this homey brunch spot is a popular one with Hollyburn locals. Fluffy eggs and pancakes! During the lunch rush on a Saturday though, the wait is very long - we were there a good hour and 20 mins before our food finally arrived. We did appreciate the staff acknowledging the long wait. Like most places with long waits, I recommend Cindy's if you're looking to catch up with somebody and can wait a bit longer for your food.

Very cute little café nestled in Dundarave. Food is delicious and actually tastes like your own mother would make it for you. Real, tasty ingredients and delicious coffee. Nice woman who served us has a very no-nonsense but attentive manner to her - which we love. No need to have a fake server grinning from both ears and asking you about your day at the table. She also very kindly informed us when someone hit our car outside the café. Looking forward to returning!

My Fiancée treated us to some Skipp, so we tried Cindy's. We ordered some breakfast. The Fiancée and i ordered classic benny and the breakfast burrito and our daughter ordered scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. First appearance opening our take out boxes had my mouth drop, as it looked good but the portions looked tiny. What is this a meal for ants lol. After eating it, i think it was a good portion as I wasn't crying around i was too full lol. Classic benny - Was Delicious, eggs cooked just perfectly. only complaint maybe a bit more wedges lol. Breakfast burrito - we stepped out of our comfort zone with this one and it was Delicious. Was like a little Mexican fiesta party of flavors. once again only complaint maybe a bit more wedges lol. Scrambled eggs - my kid is picky and she loved them. nice and fluffy. Sausage - Our daughter ate them so must have been good! Pancakes - They were nice and fluffy. Dad finished them off, as they are not being wasted it was that good!! overall very happy with the wonderful flavors Cindy has created! Would definitely order from here again.

Classic diner with a modern menu. The decor is very simple. Reminiscent of a beach side tea room. The service is friendly and professional. The food is very good quality and well thought out. I went on a Russian themed day with cabbage rolls and borscht. The borscht was quite authentic and tasty. I had the Avo Toast sandwich which was a unique creation with spinach, radish and dried chick peas...very yummy. Breakfast is predominant on the menu. I'll be back for a weekend brunch.

We got here around 10:30 am. The place is relatively small so if it's busy I'm sure we would have to wait outside 15-20 min. There were two tables available. We sat ourselves. The menu looks great. I had the crushed avocado toast, it comes on top of one slice of rye bread, a mixed greens salad with radishes and two poached eggs. I also ordered a side of one pancake. The food came relatively quick. My friend and I asked for an americano and the server said ok, yet brought us brewed coffee. It doesn't look like they have an espresso machine but I was a bit surprised she didn't say we have brewed coffee only. There is a big difference to me. Nonetheless, I am giving it 5 starts because you don't come here for coffee. Food tasted fresh and I think we will be back again.

A great breakfast gem in West Vancouver. Uber clean, very friendly staff and really tasty breakfast. The "only carbs" is a must!

Before I start grab a complimentary port or scotch or sherry. Then let's take a tour. Ok. It will be short tour. They just have a few rooms. But first well stop at the little side kitchen where you can help yourself to coffee, tea, soda and water. For a charge they also have wine and beer available. This is also where you hang your key when you leave the house so they know who is here. We got the Under the Apple Tree Room which was spacious and nicely decorated. It even had its own private yard. Also has gas fireplace, jacuzzi style tub and stand up shower. The heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. If you get tired of your room you can also enjoy sitting outside on a deck or the living room. We really enjoyed relaxing on the couch back in our room in front of the fire place. Morning came a bit too soon. Was hard to get up out of the super comfortable down blankets on the King bed. The breakfast was ready though and included three delicious courses. Polenta with almonds, banana kirsch, and smoked salmon with poached egg on toasted croissant. Yum. Daughter ordered the same breakfast sandwich that she ordered last time along with a mocha, and I ordered the Adult Mac n Cheese with a London Fog. There were a couple of hiccups this time. First of all they mixed up my daughter's drink order. Instead of a mocha they made her a hot chocolate. It looked like a wonderful hot chocolate, with a lovely heap of whipping cream on top but it was not what she ordered. So they took it away and made the mocha that she ordered. Then there was my order. My Adult Mac n cheese comes with toast. When they asked which kind of bread I would like for my toast, I asked if I could have the curry baguette bread which is usually used for their Shrimp Melt sandwich. They misunderstood and thought I was changing my order from Mac n Cheese to the Shrimp Melt sandwich itself! Nope, that's not what I wanted. I still wanted the Mac n Cheese but was just wanting to have the curry baguette bread as my "toast" since the Mac n Cheese comes with toast. When they finally realized what I was actually asking for, they then told me they couldn't do that. They only use the curry baguette for the Shrimp Melt sandwich. So then I chose sourdough to go with my Adult Mac n Cheese. It was very noisy in the shop this time. The noise level really turned off my mom. She ate up just a bit of scone, left the rest, didn't even finish her tea and then left to go walk in the IGA supermarket nearby just to escape the noise. My daughter and I finished up as quickly as we could so that we could go join my mother in the supermarket. I left first and when my daughter came to find us in the supermarket she said the people at The Bakehouse gave us a bag with 3 cookies in it for free, as a token gift for the troubles we went through in having 2 of our orders mixed up that day. I ate one of the cookies later in the day. It seemed like some kind of shortbread cookie with frosting sandwiched between it. Too sweet for my taste but I very much appreciated the gesture. I think it shows very good customer service. Don't think we'll go back there with my mother again as we'd rather not risk subjecting her to the extreme noise level again. My daughter and I would happily come back together though as we love the food there, and were very impressed with the service. Yes, they botched up our orders but how a restaurant redeems themself from a mistake says just as much about an establishment as not making a mistake in the first place. Impressed with the recovery they made, so in spite of the mistakes...still giving them a good rating!

It's bright and airy, even on a rainy nasty day on the West Coast. The decor is awesome in our mind, very diner driven and classy. The glass into the kitchen itself offers a glimpse into the line cook life. The service was top notch, the space is clean and tables are turned with precision. Nothing to quibble with overall, but the food itself was just average, and just that alone is not where a small place like this should be. The hash browns were bordering on overdone and were not plentiful. One piece of toast is always a pet peeve of mine, though the multigrain was good. The Romesco really had little taste and was almost a little dry. I had trouble speeding it around and ended up eating most of it in one bite, which I am sure is not the ideal scenario. K had the grilled cheese sandwich with onions. The fries were great but the sandwich was lacking in cheese and onions which isn't ideal. We also had three go arounds with our English Breakfast tea and the cream curdling once added. The date on the cream was far in advance and the cream was cold, so not sure what the issue was. I actually asked specifically for milk when ordering, so it didn't excite me to have this happen. They finally brought milk with the third tea try, K used it, I didn't bother. Small thing, but I like my tea while waiting for my meal, not with it or halfway through it. That all said, everyone was happy, seemed to enjoy the food and service and there appear to be alot of locals. We will certainly give the Douce another go, and hope that it's a far better experience.
