Had a family brunch here recently. I keep forgetting this place is here, as I'd never eaten here before. Two of us had the Canadian breakfast and my niece ordered a waffle with fruit. The fruit was actually a good portion and decent selection of blueberries, strawberries, banana and grapes. A couple of very small overripe pieces of kiwi were thrown in but I've seen worse for a kids meal. Food came out after a short wait. Missing from the plates was butter for the toast and waffles, so I'm not sure if they don't usually provide it or they forgot it. The over-easy eggs were more over-medium and the potatoes tasted a bit off to me, but I was full anyway, so I just left them. Finally able to try this place as it is always packed on weekends. Came on a Monday and we were able to get a table. They have a variety of food items, from brunch, burgers, skillets and salads. They have different drinks too. We got the Korean skillet and Norwegian eggs benedict. The skillet was good, but I don't think they baked it in it as the handle wasn't hot. The bottom of the skillet was hot but you don't need a wooden plate to hold it. The smoked salmon on the benedict was fresh and good. The English muffin was soft. Revisited pur and simple for breakfast as it's one of my go to places in Burnaby. I did not like the sauce to be honest and so the skillet overall was just okay . The sauce is there in the picture . Service of the staff is okay and accommodating and they divide the plate if needed or if you want to. They always charge a bit for anything small on the side so be mindful even coffee or a single slice of bread. We asked for water and it took her awhile to come back to drop off water. It also took her awhile to come back to take our orders. The food and drink arrived in reasonable time. The food arrived lukewarm or almost room temperature. Not sure if it was just the timing of the food was off or it took our server awhile to bring the food over as she was somewhere else. The flavours were good. There was a decent amount of hollandaise sauce. Egg was soft poached as requested. The coconut mocha iced latte was good. Unfortunately, I could not customize sugar level so it was on the sweeter side. Overall, this is an okay option in the area. I liked the menu options. The panko creates such a nice, crispy texture. It was surprisingly not too sweet, especially if you don't dip it in the custard or raspberry sauce. I got 3 slices because I shared one but if you're eating it on your own, I think 2 will be enough. I liked that it was topped with fresh blueberries & raspberries. Santa Fe - 2 silky poached eggs with hollandaise sauce & sriracha on top of an English muffin. This is their only eggs benedict with avocado. It's so flavourful since there are also black beans, peppers, tomatoes, red onions, and corn. Served with soft potatoes that were fluffy on the inside. We waited for 40 minutes on a Sunday at noon, which was reasonable. Around 30 minutes in, the hostess asked us and other groups to wait outside. It was super cold on this day, literally -2°. So pur and simple. I love this brunch place and it recently opened in Metrotown area by station square so I had to check it out and have brunch with the girls. I would recommend you sign up on the waitlist on their website especially during those peak brunch hours on weekends. Always plan ahead and make a reservation by putting your name into their system by waitlist. They have quite and extensive menu and they are actually open later than brunch hours they have burger menu etc for lunch and later. The skillets looked so good so I had to try it for myself and I got the rays extravaganza. It was filling and nice skillet touch. Another dish we got was the gourmet with 2 sausages and half waffle topped with bananas chocolate chips, English cream and hazelnut chocolate. And lastly the huevos rancheros has 2 flour tortillas, black beans peppers and corn blen, guacamole , scallions, tomatoes topped with eggs and sriracha with sour cream and salsa on the side. This dish is interesting and has a Mexican twist for brunch it looked good. I love their famous pur and simple potatoes and they had good toast too. Their potato's are quite crispy and I like that they are bite sized. I also think there was some fried onions and garnish and seasoned very well. Came for brunch on a weekday and was excited to try it since I've seen lines on a weekend. Our party ordered the Norwegian Benny, Triple Berry Pancakes and the Popular. Everything tasted ok but the Benny was cold. What was upsetting about this place was all the up charges. The person ordering the Popular had to pay extra because sourdough toast is considered premium and the person ordering the pancakes had to extra for syrup! For pancakes! That is so ridiculous! The service was also pretty slow because they only had 2 servers and it took 10 minutes to flag down our server and pay for our bill. Came here for brunch with a friend. They had quite the line up. I was fortunate enough to put myself on the waitlist before arriving at the restaurant. Hence, my friend and I got seated fairly quickly when we got to the restaurant. There were a lot of options for food. However, when the food came it was lukewarm. My smoked salmon was a pale orange colour. Probably because it was half cooked with the egg on top. The egg was runny, which was what I asked for. Bonus points for that. Fruits on the plate were not very fresh. . The food overall tasted Very mediocre. Price is fair for the amount of food. I was going to order a coffee but seeing that their coffee is just from nespresso I held back. Overall, there are better brunch places that's actually worth the wait. Waiter was friendly and helpful. I seldom leave any reviews, but this time I have to. My boyfriend and I went last Saturday. He ordered an omelette, had a few bite and did not finish half the meal. He started experiencing diarrhoea and nausea after a few hours. He couldn't even sleep at night because he kept on going to the washroom in the middle of the night.
