Gang- I'm not understanding the low reviews here. Like at all. What gives? It's absolutely immaculate from the lobby to concession stand, toilets, and inside the theatres. The seating is some of the most comfortable luxury theatre seating (reclining/heated...but who needs heated in Texas?!?) I've experienced. We saw Supergirl and did DBox seating (immersive technology: vibration and motion synchronized with action in a film). The sound quality was incredible and the screen visuals top-notch. Concession prices are the same as everywhere. No surprise. Popcorn is fresh. They've got frozen cocktails, beer, etc. Employees are nice. Absolutely great experience. read more

I had a very good experience here with some awkward speedbumps along the way but that's okay. Here we go. Upon arrival, I wanted to pay with my MoviePass card and so I walked to the ticketing booth and the young lady was on her phone and had an AirPod in. I scared the DAYLIGHT out of her. I felt so bad even though it wasn't my fault. Just oof. Also, it was really hard to communicate as there are issues with the glass microphone... At the concessions, I had 3 coupons from a Christmas promo. The poor guy had to enter them separately and this is where things got weird. I asked him what was closest to $5 and he said a bottled beverage. On the screen it showed $5.80 for a bottled beverage. When he rang up my Fairlife chocolate milk (I'll get to this later), it was $6.30 or $6.80. Either way, I got to use my coupons even though it took 7-10 min. My popcorn was stale and severely disappointing but whatever...it was 9am. The chocolate milk, well, I thought it was a protein shake as it did end up having 23g of protein. However, it did not use the lactose free milk and I suffered drastically during the middle of the film. That was my fault. The Coke Zero syrup was okay but I've had better. The concession area was spectacularly clean. The patron checking tickets was super diligent and wonderful at his job. I was happy to, once again, see how local Cinemarks hire those with disabilities. My seat didn't recline all of the way and now I know why no one chose my row (I wish they would have told me it was a Dbox row when I purchased the ticket). Lots of people here bundled up to stay. Patriots to our core I'm proud to say. The seats recline, it's super clean, it's smells nice, the concession stand has a little of everything, the ticket check in is easy and not that this applies to everyone, but it's 7 minutes from my house. Austin has a ton of theaters to choose from but I honestly feel like this was a better than average experience. Drafthouse is my drop dead favorite spot to watch movies. This has become a runner up. Clean and attentive associates at the popcorn counter. Went for a movie at 10pm and I always enjoy getting a cold beer or margarita while watching the movie. They said they closed the "bar". It wasn't even late. The seats were ok. Very big but did not recline the way other Cinemark theaters do. I wouldn't pick this one again later at night because of the fact that a lot of items are not available and popcorn refills were not permitted after 11. I'm not sure why this theater has bad reviews! We went here on a Tuesday for the discounted ticket price to see Freakier Friday. We bought tickets online and picked our seats. The price was only $6.50! We bought 1 big popcorn and quickly got in the theater. Seats were comfortable, but the only complaint is that it was really warm in the theater. I always wear pants and bring a jacket since it's usually freezing, but it was actually warm inside. Otherwise great experience and we will be back! read more

Came to Cinemark tonight for a Yelp Elite event to see the pre-release of You're Cordially Invited. The Cinemark staff were super nice and the popcorn was SO good. The seats were very comfortable and I loved that I could recline while I enjoyed the show. Fun fact: the theater also has frozen cocktails and On The Rocks pre-mixed cocktails. I've been coming to this movie theater since I was 12 years old. every time I go it's a great experience!

All the seats have been RENOVATED!! 2025 Clean and work well. Seats definitely needed it. Movie parking lot has ample spaces. Try to park near a tree for shade in summer heat. All the staff are very kind and friendly. They are there to help us. Go on Tuesdays for great prices. Way cleaner than most other theatres around. Go do a tour around the area and you will be back to this theatre as it is the nicest. Selection of movies are good. read more

Is everyone expecting too much of the average mid-grade movie theater or do I just have low standards? I was surprised to see so much hate for this place given the nearby options. Is the popcorn stale? Of course. Is the cleanliness questionable? Always. The big benefit to me is that the seats are genuinely VERY comfortable, reclining so that you won't strain your neck no matter what row you're in. They're even spaced out nicely so you don't have to fight a stranger for the armrest or get distracted by nearby mouth-breathers. Temperatures are consistent, providing some relief on scorching hot days. Yes, prices are steel but on par with other movie venues these days. For an occasional big event movie, it's nice to get off the couch and enjoy the big screen. read more

Customers do not come first here. They're not even a priority!! There were rude power washers at the front doors that should have stopped to allow a disabled customer in instead of walking to a much further entrance. BUT the WORST part is that EVEN THOUGH there were at least 3 staff members behind the concession stand, only ONE was serving customers. I had to wait over ten minutes to order due to the very long line. FINALLY, there was no employee to check me in to the movie and direct me to the correct theatre location. Whether it's 10 am on a Tuesday morning or a 10 pm showing Friday night, customer service should be good & consistent. I now regret joining the Cinemark movie club. read more

I've been trying to avoid Cinemark, but the Alamo Drafthouse was sold out of last minute tickets to the film I was interested in seeing. The first impressions confirmed my suspicion. Cinemark is disappointing. There was popcorn littered all over the lobby floor and long lines to concessions (to be fair, it is opening weekend for two huge films). The theater room itself was relatively updated, but I couldn't miss the dark stains all over the carpet. The seats recline - YAY! My seat got stuck in the reclined position- UGH. I don't plan to be back. Seeing a movie these days should feel like an experience. If I go to a theater, I want it to feel clean and new. Otherwise, I'll just stay home and watch Netflix. read more

An absolute mistake going here to try and watch a movie. After packaging our tickets online and buying drinks at the theater, I (24) attempted to watch the new Wolverine movie with my younger brothers (21 & 14)and were not allowed to watch due to one of them not having an I.D. (14). Both myself and brother of age presented our I.D.'s and I Specifically told them I was the legal guardian. I was told to present paperwork? Are you serious? Cinemarks policy states: "You must be at least 17 years of age (18 in some states) or have a parent or legal guardian accompany you to view the movie. Valid ID's will be required to attend R-Rated movies, and will be checked at the theatre." Well this is a 2-part review due to us going yesterday (Saturday) and going back today (Sunday). We went to see Super Mario Brothers Saturday at the 12P showing and I haven't been to a movie theater since Pre-Covid years so this was surprisingly that most theaters have lounge seats now. We went to the consession stand and everything was quite expensive. My 10 year old treated me to a small popcorn for herself and myself along with a candy and that was all she could afford with her $20. I paid for our drinks. Since most of the seats were taken and the only ones together were in row B. We didn't finish the movie due to the solar panels catching on fire and the fire department had to come out and that basically ended the move for us. I was told to call back in the morning (Sunday) to talk about getting tickets. I called back on Sunday and was informed that everyone was refunded but due to me paying cash I was able to speak with the manager who offered us rain checks or we could watch it today (Sunday). Daughter wanted to see it today and they were able to find some seats together for us. We went to the concession stand today and she paid for 2 small popcorns, 2 pieces of candy, medium soft drink & small icee. I asked for a Coke Zero and didn't realize till we were in the theater that I was given Dr Pepper. I just let it go b/c she is a Dr Pepper fan unlike me. While walking toward theater 10 you could still smell the smoke and to be honest, I was shocked they were even open today. The screen kept going in and out but the volume was still going. I talked to the person who was taking the tickets and he got someone to fix it. It happened a couple more times before the movie started. Once it began then it was no problem. I will also state that even though we got matinee tickets the prices were crazy high. I feel like my mom but "I remember at one time buying matinee tickets and they were less than $15" but ya know. Went to see the new Megan movie here, the place was filthy. I tried to give them benefit of the doubt, as they were somewhat busy, but it's evident nothing has been deep cleaned in a while. Upon finding our seats in the theatre my seat was absolutely littered with popcorn and something sticky. There were 3 or 4 seat mix ups with different parties throughout the theatre.(we think the theatre was double-booking seats somehow). We ended up having to split up our party of 5. Finally the movie begins and then come the flys! Had bugs flying across our field of view the whole time! Spend your money elsewhere. read more

The theater was disgusting. There was popcorn and trash littered all over the entrance and concessions. The butter station was absolutely FILTHY and looked like It hadnt been cleaned all day. Additionally, we got no notification that the theatre had decided to go back to 100% occupancy so we had people sitting right next to us. A notice if some kind wouldve been appreciated. The Cinemark in Southpark Meadows has become my favorite theater lately. They have the most comfortable seats in all of south Austin. Their selection of snacks is great too. I just watched The Boy and The Heron and I could barely hear or pay attention the entire time because the theater next door or maybe even a few doors down was BLARING music and the bass was so intense you could feel the vibrations. What was supposed to be a beautiful and reflective movie was ruined by club music. I believe it was due to Renaissance playing at the same time. I guess the theatres aren't soundproof? Or maybe the other showing was just turned up louder than it's supposed to be? It's the modern day in age so why not preorder your tickets to the movie through the website or Fandango? This theater can get really busy especially during the weekends and on Tuesday evenings (when all movies are $5 per person) and I would suggest doing everything early before arriving. Parking is safe and is shared between a bar and a gym in the area as well so there is always someone around. I even see security guards driving carts even late at night here as well. Be prepared for at least 20-30 minutes of previews from the START of your movie time. There are a lot of ads and what not to get through before the movie trailers so take your time at the concession stand. When ordering your tickets online all you have to do is show it to the person working near the theaters from your phone. He/she will scan it and even give you paper tickets before you get to your theater. This was appreciated especially when I didnt have the tickets on my phone but I was getting the popcorn, drinks, candy, etc. read more

I am not sure if this location is going out of business, but the beer on draft has been down for over a month. We regularly go to this location due to being a movie club member. The carpet is deeply stained. The ice machine is down most of the time and we have not been able to get our favorite 512 IPA since before June. I have reported it to customer service to see what is going on and they refunded my tickets , but won't say why concessions are consistently out of order. The carpet is so stained it is difficult to find your seat . The staff is usually friendly. read more

Southpark Cinemark has been updated/remodeled in the recent months to include assigned seating with comfortable reclining chairs. The chairs are comfy and great with my recent leg injury. The prices vary on ticket prices due to time of day and day of the week. I remember back in the old days when theaters had it to where you pay one price per ticket before 6pm and another after 6pm. I don't get food and drinks here because it's expensive like all other movie theaters. I try to eat either before or after the movies. Be sure to sign up for the cinemark app to earn points. Went there with my family to watch Despicable Me 4 at 11:00 pm and the place was really messy you could see trash everywhere and the lines to buy snacks where long, on top of that I was denied the entrance because I had my 5 yrs with me to (to watch a KIDS MOVIE) and it's policy of them not to allow kids under 6yrs because they want to create a "adults only experience " , that I think it's kind of ridiculous considering that they weren't selling any beer/wine, I think that a movie theater is supposed to be a FAMILY experience!!! read more

We recently went out to see the new Wonder Woman movie, excited that this location was open! We found the place to be remarkably clean (they are taking COVID precautions seriously) in the lobby, the hallways, the restroom, and the viewing area itself. We got sodas and popcorn with our tickets, and it was yummy! So glad Cinemark was open for us to enjoy some big picture entertainment. I hear they'll also book private viewings at a reasonable price right now. :) read more

I don't know if Cinemark recently started redoing their theaters or if this location always had the reclining seats but it really made a more comfortable movie going experience. The sound is fantastic every time I go. The staff is friendly even on busy nights. The picture is awesome and bright. Have never had a film appear less than stellar. The concessions are pretty meh and over priced because it is a Cinemark theater after all. Skip and avoid the food if you can. Lots of places close by to eat at first. Bottom line while its definitely not my first choice of a theatre to see a film at, they have improved on things since the last time I visited and definitely trying to stay relevant in the movie theatre game. read more
