I can't believe I've never been here! The seats recline, it's super clean, it's smells nice, the concession stand has a little of everything, the ticket check in is easy and not that this applies to everyone, but it's 7 minutes from my house. Austin has a ton of theaters to choose from but I honestly feel like this was a better than average experience. Drafthouse is my drop dead favorite spot to watch movies. This has become a runner up. It's kinda hidden from 35 if you're just driving by the plaza, so it's worth a see

Came to Cinemark tonight for a Yelp Elite event to see the pre-release of You're Cordially Invited. The Cinemark staff were super nice and the popcorn was SO good. The seats were very comfortable and I loved that I could recline while I enjoyed the show. Fun fact: the theater also has frozen cocktails and On The Rocks pre-mixed cocktails. Will be back for more!

    My little treat !

It's nice to venture out of the city now and again. I really liked this theatre a lot. It's clean and spacious. They have a nice lobby and bar/cafe' area. When you walk in it feels like you're walking into a hotel lobby rather than a movie theatre. That's ok in my book. The restaurant area has great food and drink offerings. So many drinks-beer, cocktails, shakes, teas, sodas... Once in the theatre, seat service if available for everything on the menu (same as cafe). Service was really good. Picture and sound quality-spectacular. I'd give it five stars but can't because of the seating. Though it's super comfy and luxury, a lot of the reclining chairs had wear and tear. Pretty bad actually. Other than that, it was still a fun night at the movies!

I explained the issue, but no one followed up. After waiting 35-40 minutes, I had to leave my seat, track someone down, and get my own popcorn. No apology, no accountability. To make matters worse, the restrooms were completely out of soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. Overall, this felt disorganized and poorly managed. I won't return. Experiences like this make me appreciate Alamo Drafthouse a lot more.

Went to see The Odyssey but unfortunately the AC in the theater was broken and it was way too hot to watch a three hour movie. The first person I spoke to, told me since I purchased my tickets with apple pay, my only option was a store credit for future purchases. Being this was my first visit to this AMC in the six years that I've lived in Austin, a store credit was not of value and I simply wanted a refund. After telling Stone, the manger, my issue, he did not try to use AMC policy as a shield to dismiss me or force a solution I did not want. He offered a refund through a manual form submission to corporate and proceeded to complete the process. This is increasingly uncommon these days and should be acknowledged and rewarded. Stone chose to put the customer first when he had every opportunity not to. This experience makes me want to go back to the theater more than a gift card would have. Great work Stone - I hope AMC sees this review and rewards you some how.

It was honestly hotter inside the theater than it was outside, which made it really uncomfortable to sit through the movie. No one mentioned the issue when we scanned our tickets or while we were ordering food and drinks. The movie itself was great, but the overall experience wasn't. Had we known about the lack of AC beforehand, I honestly would have turned the car around and asked for a refund, or at the very least I wouldn't have spent so much on concessions. A little transparency would have gone a long way. If there's an issue that significantly impacts the experience, customers deserve to know before spending their money.

The managers that handled the situation were extremely rude, and basically dismissed everything I said like I was a liar or something. I didnt make a big deal out of it because I just saw it as a simple misunderstanding because apparently refills are only honored once and that's it throughout the day. Apparently, not every employee honors that policy. From that point on, I usually abide by their policy, regardless, of what their other employees tell me. After all, I used to work in customer service myself almost my entire life, so I understand what employees that work at stores, theaters and etc go through daily. However, this hasn't stopped one of the managers that handled the situation to give me death glares every time I come into the theater. She doesnt greet me with a smile, nor say "your welcome" whenever I say thanks when she does help me out a few times since that incident. I reported this person already to Regal directly, and I dont believe she's been punished accordingly for her rudeness, and lack of customer service. I dont expect every employee I meet at a service outlet to be buddies with me. That would be absurd, but I do expect to be greeted with a smile and customer service if im paying money into your establishment, regardless if you like me or not. I dont feel that's unreasonable to ask for. This includes service with a smile. Granted, most of the managers there are cool people, and I get along with them just fine. However its their main manager, whos name I won't mention because I dont want to doxx her. However, I will warn people that the employees aren't always consistent about their policies which can create issues and misunderstandings.

Funny enough, even though it's called Upstairs Circus, I kept calling it "Uptown Circus" for some reason and still do. My sister had been here once when she first moved to Austin, but it had been a while, so she was happy to go again. We tried to make a reservation for a Monday but found out they're closed that day unless it's a private event. So we ended up booking a Sunday evening during their Sangria Sundays event. Signing up online was quick and easy--no payment required upfront. When we arrived, we were seated at a table and given the option to sit side by side or across from each other. They handed us a laminated flyer with all the available project options, ranging from easy (about an hour) to more challenging projects that can take the full three-hour session. There was a good mix of household items (like coasters and magnetic shelves), jewelry, handbags, clutches, accessories, and even a pricier custom Nike shoe painting project. The sample projects looked very professional, but the final result really depends on your artistic skills and how focused you are during the session. My sister and I decided to pick different projects--she chose a handbag clutch, and I went with coasters. We got all our materials and instructions. One thing I noticed: this kind of activity is probably better suited for people who don't have a ton to catch up on while working. Since my sister and I hadn't seen each other for weeks, we were trying to talk and catch up, which made it harder for me to focus on the project. Some steps were time-sensitive, so juggling both conversation and crafting was a bit stressful. For my coaster project, I initially planned to use a stencil and transfer paper to trace a design, but it didn't work very well. I ended up switching to a simple two-color block design just to make sure I could finish in time. My sister's project was a bit more advanced--she had to do leather hole punching and threading--but she managed to finish and loved how her clutch turned out. Since it was Sangria Sunday, you get one complimentary sangria or mocktail with your reservation, and they keep a card on file if you want to order more drinks. I got a spicy cocktail that actually had really good flavor, even though I didn't finish it. Overall, this is a fun and unique activity if you want to do something creative with a friend or group. I'd recommend it more if you're looking to spend quality time doing something together rather than having a deep conversation--because focusing on the project definitely takes some attention. My sister was happy with her finished product, and I liked mine even if it turned out simpler than planned. It's a cool idea for a birthday, date night, or just a different kind of outing.
