The playhouse is fairly small and intimate - there is not a bad seat in the house! Loved the show here!

That made it feel much more intimate and like you were a part of the location. We purchased our tickets online for fear of getting a sold out show. There's a $1 per ticket processing fee, but they text you electronic tickets which was pretty neat. The people are super nice! They had by donation hot chocolate, coffee and cookies during the fifteen minute intermission. The acting was also on par with expectations for a small theater. The staging was basic, but perfect in conveying the feel of the show. There was also a person playing the violin as we entered the venue. They put every effort into the feel and comfort of their patrons. I will definitely be back! Can't wait to see more!!!

I don't know much about Wimberley, despite living and working in the South Austin-San Marcos area…read morefor more years than I care to count. This little theater and glade really captured both my heart and my imagination a few weeks ago during the Butterfly Festival. There's a poignant story behind the name of the EmilyAnn, but I'll leave it to you to discover it on their website. There's an equally touching story behind Justin's Castle, but you'll have to visit in person to learn about that one. What I didn't know was that there were so many events held here. Christmas features a trail of lights. There are various theater productions throughout the year at the three outdoor stages. There's a beautiful Veterans Memorial Plaza and stage at the top of the hill. There's a life-size chess-checker board. And a betrothal tree. In short, the EmilyAnn is not just a one-trick-pony. Parking is next door at Wimberley High School. I'd like to say the grounds are accessible, but unfortunately they're not. However, there is an access road for drop-off at the main stage at the top of the hill. Instead, if you call ahead, they will apparently make arrangements for golf cart service for those with mobility impairments. Live a little. Life is short. Check this place out sometime soon. You'll be glad you did.

It includes a 400-seat auditorium, the Patti Strickel Harrison Theatre, where we saw the inaugural performance of the musical, Anything Goes, this weekend. Clearly outstanding, Broadway-worthy productions such as this deserve this professional venue. Not only is it equipped with state-of-the-art technology, it's architecturally beautiful and comfortable for patrons. Our seats were on the floor level, but the wrap-around balcony is positioned so there isn't a bad seat in the house. It's an intimate setting, which is nice for connecting with the live shows, but it also means the shows sell out. Buy your tickets in advance online rather than driving out and chancing getting one at the door. Tickets for this performance ranged $15-$18, for a total of $20 with the purchase fees. Such a deal that I'll have no problem making the drive from Austin often with family and friends. Texas State Students get in for $8. Right across the street is the Edward Gary Street Garage, built in tandem with the PAC to allow for easy parking. We paid $5 flat rate. The PAC also houses a 300-seat recital hall, rehearsal and classroom space, so there's a lot more going on in that building than the shows. No wonder their programs are becoming nationally known.

She's really helped us with her vocal exercises to strengthen our voices and gain control. She's so warm and understanding and has such a great connection with her students. That was the first thing that I noticed about her when we went to observe one her "sing club" performances. She's such a great communicator. Oh, and can *she* sing! What a treat if she ever breaks out with one of her show tunes or one of her original works. She's amazing!

I was initially hesitant to invest in formal…read morevoice lessons, but from the very moment I spoke with Virginia on the phone about lessons, all of my anxiety melted away. The best part about Virginia's approach is how she meets each student where they are at, and helps them reach their fullest potential as a vocalist and performer. Whether you have prior experience or it is your first time singing, Virginia molds her technique and coaching to hone your voice and uncover your inner talent. Yes, she teaches you how to sing. But more importantly, she listens and determines how to bring out the best in you. I've always loved singing, but never had any confidence in my own abilities. Virginia steadily built a confidence in me that I didn't think was possible, and helped me ease into the idea of performing in front of an audience through her Sing Clubs and band shows. She was the perfect blend of patient and challenging, pushing me out of my comfort zone to experience the beauty of singing in front of an audience. Everyone is incredibly supportive in the Sing Club, and these valuable sessions have made me proud and inspired to continue putting myself out there as a vocalist and to incorporate more music into my life. I felt a strong sense of community and love from the other students, even from our first session. If you're on the fence about taking voice lessons, I highly encourage you to work with Virginia. She'll make it well worth your while and open your heart and mind to the power that singing can have on your well-being.
