This was my first time at this location. It was very clean with comfortable seats. The staff was helpful if I had a question. There is plenty of parking available. The only thing I didn't like was how slow the concession stand line was with only two people ordering food. Overall, my experience was good and I can see myself going back .

I am not sure what the Greek/Art Deco interior design & architectural theme is meant to be but it works. I don't know much about the history but it seems this was a rather modern theatre concept in the early days of luxury movie watching. The place is spotless from the lobby to the theatres (no garbage or leftover food in the seats), to the bathrooms. Seating is really comfortable and the sound is top quality.

This review literally pains me to write. My experience here was no where close to the normal 5 stars. And that is out of the normal for Regal. There was a very large line to get tickets inside and get up to the concession area. This is where the problems began. The staff had absolutely no control over the customers. Many many of us waiting in line for over 10-15 minutes continuously watched as others did not use the line but walked right up to the counter and were not turned away or told to please get in line that others were waiting. We watched in disbelief of 2 ladies in the far line motion the whole family to come in behind them as they were walking through the front doors. Completely having total disrespect of those in line. Do better next time. Please honor those that are following the rules and waiting in line. And let the line move so those with pre purchased tickets cannot be LATE for their movie! Open the ticket area back up outside or something!

The 4D experience at Regal is pretty cool!! We watched the new Mission Impossible movie in 4DX with lights, sounds and wind/air effects and the seats legit moved during the action scenes. It started out as a fun novelty but can get a bit much during a 2+ hours movie, especially when the seat makes sudden jolts and you take a few hits to the back and hip. It was also strange that there was no staff member anywhere near the theatre area, no one checked our tickets anywhere. This is an alarming safety concern, when anyone can just walk in without a ticket.

I used to love coming to this theater all the time. It's still one of the better ones in town. The seats recline and they have slide out tray tables for your food. The popcorn was yummy great, until we got the refill. It tasted like putrid butter and smelled like trash. The concession prices were crazy high as expected. But you can grab a souvenir or two while waiting in line. That you had to buy tickets at the concession stand was clever, but it means you need to plan ahead and get there early so you don't miss your film.

I was so happy to see this movie theatre back open as I was looking for movie listings. They have always kept a clean appearance inside & out and they did not let COVID effect them. I took my daughter to see boss baby 2 and the movie was great the seats were clean and our popcorn was hot with fresh butter. This movie brought excitement for when I'm able to go for my Marvel releases that I'm in great hands. The staff is also very very friendly.

Ask the Community - Regal Metropolitan

Do they have the reclining seats or is it regular old school seating?

this location just opened 5 auditoriums with luxury recliners that have a table. they just started phase 2 with updating the next 4 auditoriums to include 1 4DX auditorium!

Do they have a full bar?

Regal Cinemas generally serve beer and wine only. It's been a while since I've been to Regal Metropolitan but I'm thinking that they're no exception.

Not only do they have good food and "bottomless" popcorn bowls, they also sponsor fun preview events to their special Victory fan club members, of which I am one. Last night they previewed the movie "Power Ballad," an excellent film starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. Often they have special guests to introduce the movie and offer fun contests. At the Power Ballad preview, they awarded a guitar to the first person to jump up and name the director (John Carney). I didn't win. The theater is definitely geared to film buffs and not the normal blockbuster movie goer, with posters from current and classic films decorating the walls. They even have the scary twins from "The Shining" in one of the hallways. You won't see that at any multiplex movie theater!

Upon arrival, I wanted to pay with my MoviePass card and so I walked to the ticketing booth and the young lady was on her phone and had an AirPod in. I scared the DAYLIGHT out of her. I felt so bad even though it wasn't my fault. Just oof. Also, it was really hard to communicate as there are issues with the glass microphone... At the concessions, I had 3 coupons from a Christmas promo. The poor guy had to enter them separately and this is where things got weird. I asked him what was closest to $5 and he said a bottled beverage. On the screen it showed $5.80 for a bottled beverage. When he rang up my Fairlife chocolate milk (I'll get to this later), it was $6.30 or $6.80. Either way, I got to use my coupons even though it took 7-10 min. My popcorn was stale and severely disappointing but whatever...it was 9am. The chocolate milk, well, I thought it was a protein shake as it did end up having 23g of protein. However, it did not use the lactose free milk and I suffered drastically during the middle of the film. That was my fault. The Coke Zero syrup was okay but I've had better. The concession area was spectacularly clean. The patron checking tickets was super diligent and wonderful at his job. I was happy to, once again, see how local Cinemarks hire those with disabilities. My seat didn't recline all of the way and now I know why no one chose my row (I wish they would have told me it was a Dbox row when I purchased the ticket). Overall, a decent experience and I would be back!

Picture and sound quality-spectacular. I'd give it five stars but can't because of the seating. Though it's super comfy and luxury, a lot of the reclining chairs had wear and tear. You can order food and drinks via a QR code at your seat, which is a nice perk. I chose our seats and in retrospect, I should have selected seats in a higher row. The auditorium did not have a steep incline as I anticipated, however, the seats were fine. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the communal bathrooms, which is the design at the Alamo Drafthouse. The good news is that you have a urinal or restroom option with associated signage. Like all movie theatres, the food and drinks are overpriced. In addition, you have pay a 18% service charge along with a tip. I ordered bottomless popcorn and unsweet tea and paid over $20. Interestingly, the popcorn came in a metal bowl...perhaps a sustainability measure. The popcorn was fresh and buttery. Now for the best part...we went to see the Devil Wear Prada 2. I have had some really amazing experiences here coming to movie screenings over the years. You can order the tickets on the Alamo app but they charge a service fee that was nearly $7 for 3 tickets. So I waited until I got to the theater to purchase the tickets for our group. We went on Tuesday for $7 movie tickets. When someone in our party inadvertently bought an extra ticket, the staff quickly refunded my purchase and transferred the seat. The customer service here is great! The theaters are all upstairs and they have reclining seats. The seats do not recline back as far as I would like, but they are comfortable. We got to pick out our seats when purchasing the tickets. The new phone-based ordering system really takes away from the experience. One of the things that made Alamo special was the easy, low-disruption way of ordering during the movie. Now, having to use your phone feels distracting and honestly a bit inconvenient especially in a dark theater where you're trying to stay immersed in the film. On top of that, the added 18% service charge feels excessive, especially since the level of service has shifted more onto the customer with the new system. It doesn't quite add up. To make matters worse, the food prices have noticeably gone up. I don't mind paying for quality, but with the higher prices, added fees, and a less seamless experience, it just doesn't feel like the same value anymore. I spent nearly $40 for a Parmesan herb popcorn and a watermelon mezcal margarita. That is dinner pricing for movie concessions. I really hope they reconsider some of these changes, because this used to be one of my go-to theaters in Austin. Now I feel like I am being nicked and dimed for every little thing. If you don't close out your bill within 20 minutes, they auto close your tab and add 5% tip on top of the 18% service charge. This is really getting ridiculous and pricing people out.
