My husband and I couldn't remember the last time we had been to this Cinemark (all signs point to pre pandemic?) and I was honestly a little apprehensive about how it would be since a lot of theatres have been falling by the wayside but to my pleasant surprise it's actually still in pretty good shape! Typically we go to another theatre that's a bit closer with some better amenities (a fairly robust food, menu, a full bar, etc) but we came here because it was the only theatre in the area showing a movie we wanted to see. Gone are the days of the giant movie releases where multiple concession counters are open, so parts of the building do feel like of deserted, but it was still pretty busy for a Monday night and there was a bit of a line, though it did move pretty quickly. A lot of it is grab and go (including most hot food), so it's convenient and quick, though the quality does suffer a bit not being made to order (compared to their local chain competitor who delivers your food to your seat). I got the chicken fingers and we split some fries and they were ok. Not great but not terrible. It got the job done. We also split some popcorn which was freshly popped. I'd probably just stick to that and a soda next time. The theatres are clean and the seats themselves are recliners and pretty comfy and in good condition. Projection was good, as was the sound. Commercials/trailers were almost a half hour long which felt a bit like overkill, tho. Over all, it was fine. Not impressive enough to get us to change our regular theatre but serviceable for a visit now and again. read more

Cinemark - A mess - Cinema Near Me - Ypsilant, Michigan

Just past the southeastern edge of Ann Arbor, over the Ypsi line, lives this monolithic box built on a scale of a bygone era. It's not quite a dying mall, but much of the vast expanse of parking lot is crumbling and in shambles. Fortunately, the front parking lot is fine, and as far as I can tell the building never comes close to reaching its maximum capacity. Did it ever? Are there even that many people in Washtenaw county? The inside matches apace with concession stands aplenty. However most sit empty and vacant. The one up front is active and pops the very familiar movie theater style, overly salty corn, smothered in butter flavored grease, for a small fortune. I'm really spoiled when it comes to popcorn. If you can find the White Cat kernels from Indiana, and pop them at home, you'll be spoiled too. But I digress. I did kinda like the efficiency of the concession operation, with the attendants behind the counter getting you your food and drink, and then walking up to the register to pay. That said, the person at the register looked a little dead in the eyes. Can't blame 'em. It seems like a brutally monotonous gig. The theaters themselves are fine. Some are smaller. Some are bigger. Can't say I love the bzzzzzz bzzzzzz of the reclining seats. Can't say I love the IMAX experience either. It's been a long long time since I've seen an IMAX, but I remember the screens being bigger. If I'm not mistaken at one point the minimum size of an IMAX was three stories tall. Perhaps they have made adjustments to the standards in the past 20 years to smooth the path to more screens across the US. Ultimately, I'm glad we have a multiplex in the area. Not everything shows at the smaller theaters in town. That doesn't mean that I don't feel guilty about seeing pictures at the big chain. Perhaps it helps that the experience of Cinemark and their convenience fee for buying tickets online, and all of their pricing shenanigans that try and get you into the Movie Club, fills me with a bit of rage. The bottom line is that Cinemark is fine. Theoretically it could earn bonus points for some of the interesting international films they show, and a few fringe offerings to boot, but the negatives cancel those out. Better concessions and fewer pricing shenanigans would elevate the experience and actually make me want to go there, as opposed to just ending up there when it's the only spot showing a movie I want to see. read more

Pretty decent for a suburban movie theater! Been here a number of times and will say it's pretty convenient and relaxing to watch a movie here. First there's plenty of parking, the lot is huge and maybe not the best use of land since I've never seen it close to full. The theater used to be called a different name though essentially the main spaces are the same, just with concessions and fixtures laid out differently. Usually there isn't a line so you can buy tickets at the box office on the left side of the lobby once you enter, or at the kiosks or online (though this involves a fee). They still offer morning matinees $7.00 for standard showings and $10.00 for IMAX, which is kinda nice coming from Manhattan where it's always too expensive. Regular tickets are $11.25 for regular and $15.50 for IMAX, senior and children's discounts available. I believe most of the seating are recliner seats, which I think they updated over 5-6 years ago, pretty comfy though in recent years maybe in need of some TLC. Haven't had the concessions here so can't speak to that though unless you're a big fan of movie theater popcorn not sure there's much to critique. Bathrooms are available, pretty standard. They have a rewards program too if you're a big movie buff! read more

Great movie theater! Food is pricey but tickets are a steal. Military discount of $3 for my boyfriend! Drinks + tickets + popcorn were about $40. We seen Dolly and it was pretty good!! Only downside is people do not know how to turn their phone off. Our scheduled movie was 8:10 and it didn't end up starting until 8:45. read more

Based on our experience in theater 19, their Imax theater, I wouldn't give more than a three star rating. The screen is large, but it just isn't worth the extra money as that's the only bonus. $37.49 for two tickets with no concessions. The theater is excessively loud--too loud as far as safe decibel levels go. The worst part is that the seats aren't particularly comfortable. They're rocking chairs, not recliners, which isn't the end of the world, except when your feet are touching cold concrete for over two hours and feel like ice. If your purse is small, it'll fall between the seats. And forget holding hands across the hard plastic, angular armrests that, even when put up, stick out too far to scoot closer to your date or children. I'll stick with the standard screen from now on and frequent the theater closer to home that has recliners with heated seats for less money, returning here if the movie times work out better. read more

Came to see Zootopia 2:40 theatre 7. After 25 minutes of commercials (not kidding), the movie finally starts. It's now 3:35 and we're 15-20 minutes into the movie. The lights are still on in the theatre - no one has come to shut them off. Theatre next door has the lights off for their movie. Went to use the single restroom end of the theatre row - no paper towels. Zero. Seriously how hard can this be to do? PS movie finished - no one ever came to shut off the lights while the movie played. Could we have walked alllll the way back to the front to let them know? Sure. Not easy when you are seniors and one uses a cane. read more

I have gone to Cinemark multiple times, and it has never been horrible, there are just better options. For starters, Cinemark has high prices for popcorn and slushies and don't offer refills unlike Emagine in Saline. It just feels like they take every cent from you! The chairs in Cinemark also don't lean back very far compared to other movie theaters. However, I must admit they have a larger selection of movies. Cinemark's alright, just not the best. :( read more

This is a nice Cinema. It's clean, clean, clean. They were even cleaning the Air Ducts when we went during the day. Seats are new looking and feeling with built in tray. Bathrooms were clean. Dining options are limited but that's okay. Rest of experience is great. Wish I lived closer because this would be my go to cinema. read more

Cinemark took over for Ann Arbor 20 IMAX, which took over for its awesome predecessor, Rave Cinemas. I personally really hate the makeover they did to the place because they made the atrium area feel way smaller than it used to and also just generally this place is started to look extremely old and outdated. Rave Cinemas used to feel super grand walking in and now it just doesn't. Everything here is okay, but their concession prices are astronomical. I only recently came here because they were showing a 4D movie and were one of the few that were showing it in this format, that's when it's in both 3D plus your chair moves along with it. I really enjoyed the experience because they have movement chairs that also RECLINE! All the movement chairs I had tried up until this point were small, rocking chairs. So I'm excited for this new development in the 4D space and can't wait for it to catch on at other theaters that also have movement chairs so I can stop driving this far out to AA to experience this! Other than that, this theater is starting to look old and their normally reclining chairs are really not that comfortable or on par with other theaters' recliners. Unless they update their stuff sooner rather than later, I'm worried about how it'll stack up to other theaters as the years progress, which is such a shame because I remember how awesome this theater used to be and feel. read more

I visited Cinemark on Tuesday, 5/16/23, in the evening. I came here to see the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The movie was great! What I liked about most about Cinemark: -Very clean and inviting. -Great variety of options for snacks and drinks. -A lot of seating areas to eat food or simply chill before the movie starts. -The reclining chair gave me a lot of comfort, which made the entire movie experience more enjoyable. The theater was very clean. The luxury loungers were spacious and super comfortable with the side tables. Huge theater with lots of seating. The movie club membership is also a great value in savings! Earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. You can order snacks in a tap using Cinemark app. That really saves lot of time by avoiding the long lines. They also offer completely contact-less ordering and payment experience. You can even choose to pick up your order at the dedicated guest pickup area or have it delivered directly to your seat. Popcorn was fresh. My son enjoyed the Arcade area in the lobby with all kind of games. They also offer birthday party packages. Courteous and efficient staff. I enjoyed my evening here on a movie date with my parents. We ended up going to see Dumb Money and we all really enjoyed the movie. Tickets are only $5 on Tuesdays although there was annoyingly a $1.75 booking fee per ticket. You do get this waived if you sign up for their premium, $10 a month membership, which also includes one free ticket a month. The booking fee is also waived if you book in person which I think we would do next time as the theater was nearly empty. Seats were comfortable and clean, and the aisles are spacious - no awkward "excuse me"s trying to scoot around peoples' feet. Certain things were a little unusual about the experience, specifically the fact that the trailers didn't seem relevant to the movie. My mom and I practically jumped out of our skin at several times trying to make it through the horror trailers. Also, the audio balance was a bit off - the music in the movie was super loud compared to the dialogue. Overall a very pleasant experience, just wish they didn't have the stupid online booking fee. read more

Never again. IMAX be damned. Walk in and it's a cluster f***. We tried to order food in the app on our way to the theater. No way to order food in the app AFTER purchasing tickets. So many people with little to no workers giving direction or to answer questions. We got in line to order food and drink and only found drinks. then found out there is food to order on the other side and No refills on drinks. If you do order food at the time of purchasing tickets, it's available for pickup in bags. Who tf knows what they want to eat a week before the movie?! The food side was so long we gave up after waiting in line on the wrong side. There we 6 of us and hungry. Soda would have to do. In the theater, there are reserved seats but crammed together and the seats were not recliners. They were Rockers with little legroom that harkens back to the theaters from 10 years ago. We almost walked out, we were so uncomfortable. Three hour movie, crammed together sitting up straight. Family invited us to see the film in IMAX. Glad we saw it but we won't visit this theater again. Not after that experience. read more

It has been a while since I've been here. The lines went quickly during the movie purchase but slowed up during my popcorn grab. You first go to the popcorn stand and then go to the cashier to pay. This is different than most places. The popcorn folk seem disorganized. They finally get to you when they are able to. They than ask you if you had been helped. You grab your own nachos but have to get the cheese from the cashier. The cashier is pretty quick. The regular seating had been changed to electric loungers which was a plus. It was brought to my attention that the seats squeal when you adjust them. I am just happy that they were there. Overall it was a good outing and the upgrades were a plus. read more
